Application of Multi Agent Systems in Automation of Distributed Energy Management in Micro-grid using MACSimJX

Leo Rajua, R. S. Miltonb, Senthilkumaran Mahadevana

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.24, No.3, pp. 483-491, 2018, DOI:10.1080/10798587.2017.1305647

Abstract The objective of this paper is to monitor and control a micro-grid model developed in MATLABSimulink through Multi Agent System (MAS) for autonomous and distributed energy management. Since MATLAB/Simulink is not compatible with parallel operations of MAS, MAS operating in Java Agent Development Environment (JADE) is linked with MATLAB/Simulink through Multi Agent Control using Simulink with Jade extension (MACSimJX). This allows the micro-grid system designed with Simulink to be controlled by MAS for realizing the advantages of MAS in distributed and decentralized microgrid systems. JADE agents receive environmental information through Simulink and they coordinate to take best possible action, which… More >

Analysis of the Efficiency-Energy with Regression and Classification in Household Using K-NN

    Qi Liu1,2, Zhiyun Yang1, Xiaodong Liu3, Scholas Mbonihankuye4,*

    Journal of New Media, Vol.1, No.2, pp. 101-113, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2019.06958

Abstract This paper aims to study energy consumption in a house. Home energy man-agement system (HEMS) has become very important, because energy consumption of a residential sector accounts for a significant amount of total energy consumption. However, a conventional HEMS has some architectural limitations among dimensional variables reusability and interoperability. Furthermore, the cost of implementation in HEMS is very expensive, which leads to the disturbance of the spread of a HEMS. Therefore, this study proposes an Internet of Things (IoT) based HEMS with lightweight photovoltaic (PV) system over dynamic home area networks (DHANs), which enables the construction of a HEMS to… More >

A Dual-spline Approach to Load Error Repair in a HEMS Sensor Network

    Xiaodong Liu1, Qi Liu1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.57, No.2, pp. 179-194, 2018, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2018.04025

Abstract In a home energy management system (HEMS), appliances are becoming diversified and intelligent, so that certain simple maintenance work can be completed by appliances themselves. During the measurement, collection and transmission of electricity load data in a HEMS sensor network, however, problems can be caused on the data due to faulty sensing processes and/or lost links, etc. In order to ensure the quality of retrieved load data, different solutions have been presented, but suffered from low recognition rates and high complexity. In this paper, a validation and repair method is presented to detect potential failures and errors in a domestic… More >
