Energy Saving Control Approach for Trajectory Tracking of Autonomous Mobile Robots

    Yung-Hsiang Chen1, Yung-Yue Chen2, Shi-Jer Lou3, Chiou-Jye Huang4,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.1, pp. 357-372, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.018663

Abstract This research presents an adaptive energy-saving H2 closed-form control approach to solve the nonlinear trajectory tracking problem of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). The main contributions of this proposed design are as follows: closed-form approach, simple structure of the control law, easy implementation, and energy savings through trajectory tracking design of the controlled AMRs. It is difficult to mathematically obtained this adaptive H2 closed-form solution of AMRs. Therefore, through a series of mathematical analyses of the trajectory tracking error dynamics of the controlled AMRs, the trajectory tracking problem of AMRs can be transformed directly into a solvable problem, and an adaptive… More >

Design and Analysis of a Small Sewage Source Heat Pump Triple Supply System

    Chunxue Gao1,*, Yu Hao1, Qiuxin Liu1,2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.3, pp. 667-678, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.014703

Abstract Based on the characteristics of sewage from beauty salons, a simulation model of a small sewage source heat pump triple supply system that can be applied to such places is established to optimize the operating conditions of the system. The results show that with the increase of sewage temperature and flow, the performance of the system also increases. In summer conditions, the system provides cooling, recovers waste heat and condensed heat from sewage, with a COP value of 8.97; in winter conditions, the system heats and produces hot water, with a COP value of 2.44; in transitional seasons, only hot… More >

Enhanced Thermal Performance of Roofing Materials by Integrating Phase Change Materials to Reduce Energy Consumption in Buildings

    Chanita Mano, Atthakorn Thongtha*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.9, No.3, pp. 495-506, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2021.013201

Abstract This work focused on characterizing and improving the thermal behavior of metal sheet roofing. To decrease the heat transfer from the roof into a building, we investigated the efficiency of four types of phase change materials, with different melting points: PCM І, PCM II, PCM III and PCM IV, when used in conjunction with a sheet metal roof. The exterior metal roofing surface temperature was held constant at 50°C, 60°C, 70°C and 80°C, using a thermal source (halogen lights) for 360 min to investigate and compare the thermal performance of the metal sheet roofing with and without phase change materials… More >

Efficient Virtual Resource Allocation in Mobile Edge Networks Based on Machine Learning

    Li Li1,*, Yifei Wei1, Lianping Zhang2, Xiaojun Wang3

    Journal of Cyber Security, Vol.2, No.3, pp. 141-150, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jcs.2020.010764

Abstract The rapid growth of Internet content, applications and services require more computing and storage capacity and higher bandwidth. Traditionally, internet services are provided from the cloud (i.e., from far away) and consumed on increasingly smart devices. Edge computing and caching provides these services from nearby smart devices. Blending both approaches should combine the power of cloud services and the responsiveness of edge networks. This paper investigates how to intelligently use the caching and computing capabilities of edge nodes/cloudlets through the use of artificial intelligence-based policies. We first analyze the scenarios of mobile edge networks with edge computing and caching abilities,… More >

An Efficient Supervised Energy Disaggregation Scheme for Power Service in Smart Grid

Weilie Liu, Jialing He, Meng Li, Rui Jin, Jingjing Hu, Zijian Zhang

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.3, pp. 585-593, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000113

Abstract Smart energy disaggregation is receiving increasing attention because it can be used to save energy and mine consumer's electricity privacy by decomposing aggregated meter readings. Many smart energy disaggregation schemes have been proposed; however, the accuracy and efficiency of these methods need to be improved. In this work, we consider a supervised energy disaggregation method which initially learns the power consumption of each appliance and then disaggregates meter readings using the previous learning result. In this study, we improved the fast search and find of density peaks clustering algorithm to cluster appliance power signals twice to learn appliance feature matrices.… More >

    Dongsheng Xu*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.117, No.3, pp. 143-152, 2020, DOI:10.32604/EE.2020.010335

Abstract With the continuous development of society and the progress of science and technology, the living standards of the people also constantly improve, people pay more and more attention to the pursuit of material life, and the living space of everyday life and office space requirements are also rising, the air conditioning has become the essential in people’s daily life a kind of electrical equipment. The traditional optimal matching methods of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) system have common problems such as long matching time, low matching accuracy and many matching times. The application of the best matching method of HAVC… More >
