    Genome-Wide Identification, Evolution and Expression Analyses of GA2ox Gene Family in Brassica napus L.

    Abstract Gibberellin 2-oxidases (GA2ox) are important enzymes that maintain the balance of bioactive GAs in plants. GA2ox genes have been identified and characterized in many plants, but these genes were not investigated in Brassica napus. Here, we identified 31 GA2ox genes in B. napus and 15 of these BnaGA2ox genes were distributed in the A and C subgenomes. Subcellular localization predictions suggested that all BnaGA2ox proteins were localized in the cytoplasm, and gene structure analysis showed that the BnaGA2ox genes contained 2–4 exons.     Abstract NAC (NAM, ATAF, CUC) is a class of transcription factors involved in plant growth regulation, abiotic stress responses, morphogenesis and metabolism. Salvia miltiorrhiza is an important Chinese medicinal herb, but the characterization of NAC genes in this species is limited. In this study, based on the Salvia miltiorrhiza genomic databases, 82 NAC transcription factors were identified, which were divided into 14 groups.     Abstract Plant U-box (PUB) E3 ubiquitin ligases play important roles in hormone signaling pathways and in response to different abiotic stresses, but little is known about U-box genes in Danshen (root of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge). Here, we identified and characterized 70 SmPUB genes based on its genome sequence. Phylogenetic analysis of U-box genes from S. miltiorrhiza and Arabidopsis suggested that they can be clustered into seven subgroups (I–VII).     Abstract To understand the molecular characteristics of the miR477 gene family of grape (Vvi-miR477) and to predict its target genes, the Vvi-miR477 genes were identified from previous small RNA sequencing data, then phylogenetic analysis and prediction of target gene were conducted. The Vvi-miR477 family consists of two precursor sequences and three mature sequences. The miR477 family members were mostly 19-22nt in length. The sequence is relatively conservative. Vvi-MIR477a and Vvi-MIR477b are located on chromosomes 1 and 2, respectively. These precursor sequences can form the typical stable stem-loop structure.     Abstract BEL1-like homeodomain (BLH) family proteins are homeodomain transcription factors, which are found ubiquitously in plants and play important roles in regulating meristem and flower development. Although BLH proteins have been reported in some plant species, there is very little information available for plants in the Malus genus (e.g., apple tree:Malus domestica).     Abstract Andrographis paniculata (A. paniculata) is a Chinese herbal medicine that clears away heat, reduces inflammation, protects the liver, and promotes choleretics. The WRKYs of A. paniculata are still not well characterized, although many WRKYs have been identified in various plant species.     Abstract Auxin signaling and its components (Auxin/Indole-3-Acetic Acid (Aux/IAA)) are critical for plant growth and development. Here, we performed a genome-wide annotation and identified twenty-one Aux/IAA genes in strawberry (Fragaria vesca). Most FveIAAs were located on chromosomes 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6, while no FveIAAs were found in chromosomes 3 and 7. Phylogenetic analysis divided these genes into nine subfamilies.
