Integration of Biopolyesters and Natural Fibers in Structural Composites: An Innovative Approach for Sustainable Materials

    Nasmi Herlina Sari1,*, Suteja1, Widya Fatriasari2

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.13, No.8, pp. 1521-1546, 2025, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2025.02024-0058 - 22 August 2025

Abstract Composites made from biopolymers and natural fibers are gaining popularity as alternative sustainable structural materials. Biopolyesters including polylactic acid (PLA), polybutylene succinate (PBS), and polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), when mixed with natural fibers such as kenaf, hemp, and jute, provide an environmentally acceptable alternative to traditional fossil-based materials. This article examines current research on developments in the integration of biopolymers with natural fibers, with a focus on enhancing mechanical, thermal, and sustainability. Innovative approaches to surface treatment of natural fibers, such as biological and chemical treatments, have demonstrated enhanced adhesion with biopolymer matrices, increasing attributes such as… More > Graphic Abstract

Schweizer-Sklar T-Norm Operators for Picture Fuzzy Hypersoft Sets: Advancing Suistainable Technology in Social Healthy Environments

    Xingsi Xue1, Himanshu Dhumras2,*, Garima Thakur3, Rakesh Kumar Bajaj4, Varun Shukla5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.84, No.1, pp. 583-606, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2025.066310 - 09 June 2025

Abstract Ensuring a sustainable and eco-friendly environment is essential for promoting a healthy and balanced social life. However, decision-making in such contexts often involves handling vague, imprecise, and uncertain information. To address this challenge, this study presents a novel multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach based on picture fuzzy hypersoft sets (PFHSS), integrating the flexibility of Schweizer-Sklar triangular norm-based aggregation operators. The proposed aggregation mechanisms—weighted average and weighted geometric operators—are formulated using newly defined operational laws under the PFHSS framework and are proven to satisfy essential mathematical properties, such as idempotency, monotonicity, and boundedness. The decision-making model systematically… More >

Preparation of Eco-Friendly High-Performance Manganese Dioxide Supercapacitors by Linear Sweep Voltammetry

    Junshan Zhao1,#, Yihan Shi1,#, Ming Zhang1, Liu Zhang1, Xumei Cui1, Xinghua Zhu2, Jitong Su1, Dandan Jing1, Dingyu Yang1,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.1, pp. 79-91, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.022030 - 10 August 2022

Abstract In this paper, the non-polluting, non-toxic, and eco-friendly material-MnO2 electrodes were deposited on three-dimensional porous nickel (Ni) foam by linear sweep voltammetry, and the entire electrodeposition process did not require sintering of the material, which was fast and convenient while avoiding unnecessary energy consumption and thus was environmentally friendly. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy were used to examine the surface and microscopic characteristics of each sample (TEM). Chronoamperometry (CA), cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge/discharge (GCD), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were then used to determine the electrochemical characteristics of the manufactured samples.
