PNN-SVM Approach of Ti-Based Powder’s Properties Evaluation for Biomedical Implants Production

    Ivan Izonin1,*, Roman Tkachenko1, Michal Gregus2, Zoia Duriagina1,3, Nataliya Shakhovska1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 5933-5947, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.022582

Abstract The advent of additive technologies has provided a significant breakthrough in the production of medical implants. It has reduced costs, increased productivity and accuracy of the implant manufacturing process. However, there are problems associated with assessing defects in the microstructure, mechanical and technological properties of alloys, both during their production by powder metallurgy and in the process of 3D printing. Thus traditional research methods of alloys properties demand considerable human, material, and time resources. At the same time, artificial intelligence tools create opportunities for intelligent evaluation of the conformity for the microstructure, phase composition, and properties of titanium powder’s alloys.… More >

Parameter Estimation Based on Censored Data under Partially Accelerated Life Testing for Hybrid Systems due to Unknown Failure Causes

    Mustafa Kamal*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.130, No.3, pp. 1239-1269, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.017532

Abstract In general, simple subsystems like series or parallel are integrated to produce a complex hybrid system. The reliability of a system is determined by the reliability of its constituent components. It is often extremely difficult or impossible to get specific information about the component that caused the system to fail. Unknown failure causes are instances in which the actual cause of system failure is unknown. On the other side, thanks to current advanced technology based on computers, automation, and simulation, products have become incredibly dependable and trustworthy, and as a result, obtaining failure data for testing such exceptionally reliable items… More >

Modelling and Optimal Design of Hybrid Power System Photovoltaic/Solid Oxide Fuel Cell for a Mediterranean City

    Bachir Melzi1, Nesrine Kefif2, Mamdouh El Haj Assad3,*, Haleh Delnava4, Abdulkadir Hamid5

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.6, pp. 1767-1781, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.017270

Abstract This work presents a hybrid power system consisting of photovoltaic and solid oxide fuel cell (PV-SOFC) for electricity production and hydrogen production. The simulation of this hybrid system is adjusted for Bou-Zedjar city in north Algeria. Homer software was used for this simulation to calculate the power output and the total net present cost. The method used depends on the annual average monthly values of clearness index and radiation for which the energy contributions are determined for each component of PV/SOFC hybrid system. The economic study is more important criterion in the proposed hybrid system, and the results show that… More >

Efficient MCDM Model for Evaluating the Performance of Commercial Banks: A Case Study

    Mohamed Abdel-Basset1, Rehab Mohamed1, Mohamed Elhoseny2, Mohamed Abouhawash2,3, Yunyoung Nam4,*, Nabil M. AbdelAziz1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.3, pp. 2729-2746, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015316

Abstract Evaluation of commercial banks (CBs) performance has been a significant issue in the financial world and deemed as a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) model. Numerous research assesses CB performance according to different metrics and standers. As a result of uncertainty in decision-making problems and large economic variations in Egypt, this research proposes a plithogenic based model to evaluate Egyptian commercial banks’ performance based on a set of criteria. The proposed model evaluates the top ten Egyptian commercial banks based on three main metrics including financial, customer satisfaction, and qualitative evaluation, and 19 sub-criteria. The proportional importance of the selected criteria… More >
