Abstract The present investigation is intended to demonstrate the magnetic field, relaxation time, hydrostatic initial stress, and two temperature on the thermal shock problem. The governing equations are formulated in the context of Lord-Shulman theory with the presence of bodily force, two temperatures, thermal shock, and hydrostatic initial stress. We obtained the exact solution using the normal mode technique with appropriate boundary conditions. The field quantities are calculated analytically and displayed graphically under thermal shock problem with effect of external parameters respect to space coordinates. The results obtained are agreeing with the previous results obtained by others when the new parameters… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.2, pp. 3021-3030, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.019579

Abstract The dispersion relation of torsional wave in a dissipative, incompressible cylindrical shell of infinite length incorporating initial stresses effects is investigated. The governing equation and closed form solutions are derived with the aid of Biot's principle. Phase velocity and damping of torsional wave are obtained analytically and the influences of dissipation and initial stresses are studied in details. We proposed a new method for obtaining the phase and damping velocities of torsional wave in a complex form. Numerical results analyzing the torsional wave propagation incorporating initial stress effects are analyzed and presented in graphs. The analytical and numerical solutions reveal… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.2, pp. 551-567, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.08420

Abstract The propagation of thermoelastic waves in a homogeneous, isotropic elastic semi-infinite space is subjected to rotation and initial stress, which is at temperature T0 - initially, and whose boundary surface is subjected to heat source and load moving with finite velocity. Temperature and stress distribution occurring due to heating or cooling and have been determined using certain boundary conditions. Numerical results have been given and illustrated graphically in each case considered. Comparison is made with the results predicted by the theory of thermoelasticity in the absence of rotation and initial stress. The results indicate that the effect of the rotation… More >

Forced Vibration of the Non-Homogeneously Pre-Stressed System Consisting of the Hollow Cylinder and Surrounding Medium

    Surkay D. Akbarov1,2,*, Emin T. Bagirov2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.121, No.1, pp. 315-348, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2019.07732

Abstract The paper deals with the study of the influence of the non-homogeneous pre-stresses in the system consisting of the hollow cylinder and surrounding elastic medium on the frequency response of this system caused by the time-harmonic ring load acting in the interior of the cylinder. The axisymmetric problem is considered and it is assumed that in the initial state, the system is compressed in the radial direction with homogeneously distributed static forces as a result of which, non-homogeneous pre-stresses (or initial stresses) appear in that. It is also assumed that after these pre-stresses appear in the interior of the cylinder,… More >

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.53, No.3, pp. 65-74, 2019, DOI:10.32604/sv.2019.04087

Abstract In this paper, we present our report on the forced vibration of a bi-layered plate-strip with initial stress resting on a rigid foundation induced by a time-harmonic force. The investigation is carried out according to the piecewise homogeneous body model with utilizing the three-dimensional linearized theory of elastic waves in initially stressed bodies (TLTEWISB). The materials of the body are chosen to be linearly elastic, homogeneous, and isotropic. The interface between the layers is assumed to be imperfect, and is simulated by the spring-layer model. A similar degree of imperfection on the interface is realized in the normal and tangential… More >

    Surkay D. Akbarov1,2, Emin T. Bagirov2, Muslum Ozisik3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.61, No.2, pp. 503-534, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.07561

Abstract This paper studies the influence of the inhomogeneous initial stress state in the system consisting of a hollow cylinder and surrounding elastic medium on the dynamics of the moving ring load acting in the interior of the cylinder. It is assumed that in the initial state the system is compressed by uniformly distributed normal forces acting at infinity in the radial inward direction and as a result of this compression the inhomogeneous initial stresses appear in the system. After appearance of the initial stresses, the interior of the hollow cylinder is loaded by the moving ring load and so it… More >

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.20, No.2, pp. 47-48, 2011, DOI:10.3970/icces.2011.020.047

Abstract Large numbers of micro lattice plastic deformation of grains set up the macro plastic deformation of polycrystal metallic materials under different macro boundary condition. And the macro homogeneous deformation is in fact the statistical result of micro anisotropic lattice plastic flow. Both of the macro and micro deformation were influenced by intrinsic initial stress, which was intrinsic in the component from micro scale impurity to macro scale non-uniform deformation. In this paper, focused on the engineering application and further damage evaluation, effect of macro initial stress on the macro and micro plasticity deformation of sample under uniaxial tension was discussed… More >

The Influence of Third Order Elastic Constants on Axisymmetric Wave Propagation Velocity in the Two-Layered Pre-Stressed Hollow Cylinder

    S.D. Akbarov1,2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.32, No.1, pp. 29-60, 2012, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2012.032.029

Abstract By the use of the Murnaghan potential the influence of third order elastic constants on axisymmetric longitudinal wave propagation velocity in a pre-stressed two-layered circular hollow cylinder is investigated. This investigation is carried out within the scope of the piecewise homogeneous body model by utilizing the first version of the small initial deformation theory of the Three-dimensional Linearized Theory of Elastic Waves in Initially Stressed Bodies. Numerical results are obtained and analyzed for the cases where the material of the outer hollow cylinder material is aluminum, but the material of the inner cylinder is steel (Case 1) and tungsten (Case… More >

    S.D. Akbarov1,2, N. Yahnioglu3, U. Babuscu Yesil3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.28, No.2, pp. 147-164, 2012, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2012.028.147

Abstract This paper presents an analysis of the forced vibration of an initially stressed rectangular composite plate containing two neighboring cylindrical cavities. The initial stresses are caused by stretching or compressing of the plate with uniformly distributed normal static forces acting on the two opposite end-planes which are parallel to the central axes of the aforementioned cylindrical cavities. The influence of the initial stresses on the stress concentration around the cavities caused by the additional uniformly distributed time harmonic forces acting on the upper face plane of the plate are given. The considered problem is formulated within the framework of the… More >

Meshless Unsteady Thermo-Elastoplastic Analysis by Triple-Reciprocity Boundary Element Method

    Yoshihiro OCHIAI1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.79, No.2, pp. 83-102, 2011, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2011.079.083

Abstract In general, internal cells are required to solve unsteady thermo-elasto -plastic problems using a conventional boundary element method (BEM). However, in this case, the merit of BEM, which is the easy preparation of data, is lost. The conventional multiple-reciprocity boundary element method (MRBEM) cannot be used to solve thermo-elastoplastic problems, because the distribution of initial stress cannot be determined analytically. In this paper, it is shown that two-dimensional unsteady thermo-elastoplastic problems can be solved without the use of internal cells by using the triple-reciprocity BEM and a thin plate spline. The initial stress formulation is adopted and the initial stress… More >
