Abstract Residential sector is one of the energy-consuming districts of countries that causes CO2 emission in large extent. In this regard, this sector must be considered in energy policy making related to the reduction of emission of CO2 and other greenhouse gases. In the present work, CO2 emission related to the residential sector of three countries, including Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam in Southeast Asia, are discussed and modeled by employing Group Method of Data Handling (GMDH) and Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) neural networks as powerful intelligent methods. Prior to modeling, data related to the energy consumption of these countries are represented, discussed,… More >

Enhanced Feature Fusion Segmentation for Tumor Detection Using Intelligent Techniques

    R. Radha1,*, R. Gopalakrishnan2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.3, pp. 3113-3127, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.030667

Abstract In the field of diagnosis of medical images the challenge lies in tracking and identifying the defective cells and the extent of the defective region within the complex structure of a brain cavity. Locating the defective cells precisely during the diagnosis phase helps to fight the greatest exterminator of mankind. Early detection of these defective cells requires an accurate computer-aided diagnostic system (CAD) that supports early treatment and promotes survival rates of patients. An earlier version of CAD systems relies greatly on the expertise of radiologist and it consumed more time to identify the defective region. The manuscript takes the… More >

Hybrid Sensor Selection Technique for Lifetime Extension of Wireless Sensor Networks

    Khaled M. Fouad1 , Basma M. Hassan2,*, Omar M. Salim3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.3, pp. 4965-4985, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.020926

    Abstract

Energy conservation is a crucial issue to extend the lifetime of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) where the battery capacity and energy sources are very restricted. Intelligent energy-saving techniques can help designers overcome this issue by reducing the number of selected sensors that report environmental measurements by eliminating all replicated and unrelated features. This paper suggests a Hybrid Sensor Selection (HSS) technique that combines filter-wrapper method to acquire a rich-informational subset of sensors in a reasonable time. HSS aims to increase the lifetime of WSNs by using the optimal number of sensors. At the same time, HSS maintains the desired level… More >

Computational Intelligent Techniques To Detect DDOS Attacks : A Survey

    Isha Sood*, Varsha Sharma

    Journal of Cyber Security, Vol.3, No.2, pp. 89-106, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jcs.2021.018623

Abstract The Internet is often targeted by the Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) Attacks that deliberately utilize resources and bandwidth to prohibit access to potential users. The attack possibility is that the packets are filled massively. A DOS attack is launched by a single source, while a DDOS attack is originated from numerous resources. DDoS attacks are not capable of stealing website user’s information. The prime motive of the DDoS attacks is to devastate the website resources. Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks are disruptive to internet access on the Network. The attitude of the customer to get fast and reliable… More >
