    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.1, pp. 449-469, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.019959

Abstract Transformerless inverters have become an important integration of the modern photovoltaic (PV) grid-tied systems. Unfortunately, it has a general safety problem regarding the earth leakage current that must be less than the recommended standards. Lately, the H7 transformerless inverter, which is a three-phase inverter with an additional switch on the DC side, is introduced to mitigate the earth leakage current. Different modulation techniques and controllers are proposed to optimize its performance. This paper proposed the application of model predictive control (MPC) to grid-connected H7 transformerless inverter supplied by the PV power system. In modeling the… More >

    Xiaojuan Lu, Qingbo Zhang*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.6, pp. 1729-1740, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.014938

Abstract In the process of grid-connected photovoltaic power generation, there are high requirements for the quality of the power that the inverter breaks into the grid. In this work, to improve the power quality of the grid-connected inverter into the grid, and the output of the system can meet the grid-connected requirements more quickly and accurately, we exhibit an approach toward establishing a mixed logical dynamical (MLD) model where logic variables were introduced to switch dynamics of the single-phase photovoltaic inverters. Besides, based on the model, our recent efforts in studying the finite control set model More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.2, pp. 2283-2299, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.014786

Abstract Fuzzy logic control (FLC) systems have found wide utilization in several industrial applications. This paper proposes a fuzzy logic-based fault detection and identification method for open-circuit switch fault in grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) inverters. Large installations and ambitious plans have been recently achieved for PV systems as clean and renewable power generation sources due to their improved environmental impacts and availability everywhere. Power converters represent the main parts for the grid integration of PV systems. However, PV power converters contain several power switches that construct their circuits. The power switches in PV systems are highly subjected… More >

    M. Sujith1, *, S. Padma2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.122, No.3, pp. 863-888, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.08908

Abstract This paper proposes the optimum controller for shunt active filter (SAF) to mitigate the harmonics and maintain the power quality in the distribution system. It consists of shunt active filter, Voltage Source Inverter (VSI), series inductor and DC bus and nonlinear load. The proposed hybrid approach is a combination of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) termed as PSOANN. The PI controller gain parameters of kp and ki are optimized with the help of PSOANN. The PSOANN improves the accuracy of tuning the gain parameters under steady and dynamic load conditions; thereby it… More >

TRANSIENT MODELLING OF AN EV INVERTER HEAT SINK WITH PCM

    B. Orra,* , R. Singha, T. L. Phana , M. Mochizukib

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.13, pp. 1-6, 2019, DOI:10.5098/hmt.13.1

Abstract One of the problems with cooling an IGBT inverter chip is that its heat generation is not constant. These chips tend to produce heat in pulses which results in high peak chip temperatures. Transient modelling is required to determine the suitability of a heat sink and to ensure the max peak temperature is not exceeded. This paper demonstrates a method of transient thermal analysis using a thermal resistance / capacitor network. A sample heat sink was modelled and then experimentally tested to validate the model. A novel method of modelling phase change materials (PCM) using More >

    Liao Tian-fa

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.4, pp. 695-704, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000073

Abstract With the spreading of Photovoltaic (PV) grid-connected system, grid-connected reactive-load compensation and harmonic control is becoming a research focus. Unipolar and bipolar modulations are widely used in active power filter of PV grid-connected inverter. Unipolar modulation is good at harmonic, ripples and efficiency control, while bipolar modulation is good at grid-connected current control. A comprehensive comparison between the aforementioned modulation strategies in aspects of basic switching action, effects on operation mode, current harmonics, efficiency, is done in this paper. Base on it, a hybrid modulation strategy with the fusion of the unipolar and bipolar modulation is More >

Design and Implementation of an Intelligent Ultrasonic Cleaning Device

    Fecir Duran1, Mustafa Teke2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.3, pp. 441-449, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2018.11006161

Abstract Ultrasonic cleaners are devices that perform ultrasonic cleaning by using ultrasonic converters. Ultrasonic cleaners have been employed to clean dirty and rusty materials such as optic, jewelers, automotive and dental prosthesis sectors. Due to non-identified correctly cleaning time, cavitation erosion has been occurred at some materials, which desire for cleaning. In this study, an intelligent cleaning device that runs autonomously identified cleaning time, saves energy, and makes the cleaning process safely has been designed and implemented. An ultrasonic cleaning time has been adjusted automatically by monitoring of turbidity and conductivity values of liquid that is More >

    C. Gopinath1, *, M. Rajvikram1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.115, No.3, pp. 359-386, 2018, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2018.06143

Abstract This research paper proposes a single phase fifteen level inverter for a grid connected PV system. The proposed inverter is also called cascaded asymmetric multilevel inverter. By adopting appropriate hybrid modulation technique improved output voltage is obtained with minimum number of power electronic switches. By reducing the number of gate triggering circuits of the switches, the size and power consumption of the driving circuits can be reduced. The total harmonic distortion of the output of the inverter is improved by this inverter. The proposed inverter developed by cascading a full bridge inverter with modified H More >

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.9, No.3, pp. 197-198, 2009, DOI:10.3970/icces.2009.009.197

Abstract It is important for a company to put themselves under the protection of patent right to keep their unique competitive advantages when they confront global competition. This issue is of particular importance in Taiwan since a growing number of Taiwanese companies have been sued by foreign competitors for patent infringement. For inverter industry, producing labor-saving, energy-saving, space-saving, high-communicational, high-functional, low-noise and cost-saving inverters become a more and more important topic.
This research investigates the state of the art of current inverter technology. By using United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) database, we collect global patent… More >
