    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.10, pp. 2729-2748, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.029649

Abstract In order to overcome the deficiencies of current methods for the prediction of the productivity of shale gas horizontal wells after fracturing, a new sophisticated approach is proposed in this study. This new model stems from the combination several techniques, namely, artificial neural network (ANN), particle swarm optimization (PSO), Imperialist Competitive Algorithms (ICA), and Ant Clony Optimization (ACO). These are properly implemented by using the geological and engineering parameters collected from 317 wells. The results show that the optimum PSO-ANN model has a high accuracy, obtaining a R2 of 0.847 on the testing. The partial dependence plots (PDP) indicate that… More >

    Abdelazim G. Hussien1,2, Guoxi Liang3, Huiling Chen4,*, Haiping Lin5,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.3, pp. 2267-2289, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.024247

Abstract Many complex optimization problems in the real world can easily fall into local optimality and fail to find the optimal solution, so more new techniques and methods are needed to solve such challenges. Metaheuristic algorithms have received a lot of attention in recent years because of their efficient performance and simple structure. Sine Cosine Algorithm (SCA) is a recent Metaheuristic algorithm that is based on two trigonometric functions Sine & Cosine. However, like all other metaheuristic algorithms, SCA has a slow convergence and may fail in sub-optimal regions. In this study, an enhanced version of SCA named RDSCA is suggested… More >

Pankaj Kumar Sharma1,*, Uma Shankar Modani2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.2, pp. 1935-1951, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.031509

Abstract The mobile transient and sensor network’s routing algorithm detects available multi-hop paths between source and destination nodes. However, some methods are not as reliable or trustworthy as expected. Therefore, finding a reliable method is an important factor in improving communication security. For further enhancement of protected communication, we suggest a trust cluster based secure routing (TCSR) framework for wireless sensor network (WSN) using optimization algorithms. First, we introduce an efficient cluster formation using a modified tug of war optimization (MTWO) algorithm, which provides load-balanced clusters for energy-efficient data transmission. Second, we illustrate the optimal head selection using multiple design constraints… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.1, pp. 69-84, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.030598

Abstract It is one of the topics that have been studied extensively on maximum power point tracking (MPPT) recently. Traditional or soft computing methods are used for MPPT. Since soft computing approaches are more effective than traditional approaches, studies on MPPT have shifted in this direction. This study aims comparison of performance of seven meta-heuristic training algorithms in the neuro-fuzzy training for MPPT. The meta-heuristic training algorithms used are particle swarm optimization (PSO), harmony search (HS), cuckoo search (CS), artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm, bee algorithm (BA), differential evolution (DE) and flower pollination algorithm (FPA). The antecedent and conclusion parameters of… More >

    Abstract

Contemporarily, the development of distributed generations (DGs) technologies is fetching more, and their deployment in power systems is becoming broad and diverse. Consequently, several glitches are found in the recent studies due to the inappropriate/inadequate penetrations. This work aims to improve the reliable operation of the power system employing reliability indices using a metaheuristic-based algorithm before and after DGs penetration with feeder system. The assessment procedure is carried out using MATLAB software and Modified Salp Swarm Algorithm (MSSA) that helps assess the Reliability indices of the proposed integrated IEEE RTS79 system for seven different configurations. This algorithm modifies two control… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.1, pp. 399-416, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024736

Abstract Finding a suitable solution to an optimization problem designed in science is a major challenge. Therefore, these must be addressed utilizing proper approaches. Based on a random search space, optimization algorithms can find acceptable solutions to problems. Archery Algorithm (AA) is a new stochastic approach for addressing optimization problems that is discussed in this study. The fundamental idea of developing the suggested AA is to imitate the archer's shooting behavior toward the target panel. The proposed algorithm updates the location of each member of the population in each dimension of the search space by a member randomly marked by the… More >

Abstract Advancement in multimedia technology has resulted in protection against distortion, modification, and piracy. For implementing such protection, we have an existing technique called watermarking but obtaining desired distortion level with sufficient robustness is a challenging task for watermarking in multimedia applications. In the paper, we proposed a smart technique for video watermarking associating meta-heuristic algorithms along with an embedding method to gain an optimized efficiency. The main aim of the optimization algorithm is to obtain solutions with maximum robustness, and which should not exceed the set threshold of quality. To represent the accuracy of the proposed scheme, we employ a… More >

    Lubna Alhenak1, Manar Hosny1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.61, No.3, pp. 1045-1074, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.08355

Abstract In recent years, the volume of information in digital form has increased tremendously owing to the increased popularity of the World Wide Web. As a result, the use of techniques for extracting useful information from large collections of data, and particularly documents, has become more necessary and challenging. Text clustering is such a technique; it consists in dividing a set of text documents into clusters (groups), so that documents within the same cluster are closely related, whereas documents in different clusters are as different as possible. Clustering depends on measuring the content (i.e., words) of a document in terms of… More >

    A. Rama Mohan Rao1, K. Lakshmi1, Karthik Ganesan2

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.9, No.2, pp. 99-128, 2013, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2013.009.099

Abstract Development of efficient system identification techniques is highly relevant for large civil infrastructure for effective health monitoring, damage detection and vibration control. This paper presents a system identification scheme in time domain to estimate stiffness and damping parameters of structures using measured acceleration. Instead of solving the system identification problem as an inverse problem, we formulate it as an optimisation problem. Particle swarm optimisation (PSO) and its other variants has been a subject of research for the past few decades for solving complex optimisation problems. In this paper, a dynamic quantum behaved particle swarm optimisation algorithm (DQPSO) is proposed for… More >
