    G. Selvakumar1,*, L. S. Jayashree2, S. Arumugam3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 1215-1231, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.032509 - 20 January 2023

Abstract Advancements in cloud computing and virtualization technologies have revolutionized Enterprise Application Development with innovative ways to design and develop complex systems. Microservices Architecture is one of the recent techniques in which Enterprise Systems can be developed as fine-grained smaller components and deployed independently. This methodology brings numerous benefits like scalability, resilience, flexibility in development, faster time to market, etc. and the advantages; Microservices bring some challenges too. Multiple microservices need to be invoked one by one as a chain. In most applications, more than one chain of microservices runs in parallel to complete a particular… More >

Rubab Sheikh1, Muhammad Imran Babar2,*, Rawish Butt3, Abdelzahir Abdelmaboud4, Taiseer Abdalla Elfadil Eisa4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.3, pp. 6789-6806, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.028625 - 28 December 2022

Abstract Regression testing is a widely used approach to confirm the correct functionality of the software in incremental development. The use of test cases makes it easier to test the ripple effect of changed requirements. Rigorous testing may help in meeting the quality criteria that is based on the conformance to the requirements as given by the intended stakeholders. However, a minimized and prioritized set of test cases may reduce the efforts and time required for testing while focusing on the timely delivery of the software application. In this research, a technique named TestReduce has been presented More >

    Imran Ali Chaudhry1, Isam A-Q Elbadawi1, Amer Farhan Rafique2, Attia Boudjemline1, Mohamed Boujelbene1, Muhammed Usman3, Mohamed Aichouni1

    Revista Internacional de Métodos Numéricos para Cálculo y Diseño en Ingeniería, Vol.38, No.2, pp. 1-13, 2022, DOI:10.23967/j.rimni.2022.05.002 - 02 June 2022

Abstract The majority of the flowshop scheduling literature focuses on regular performance measures like makespan, flowtime etc. In this paper a flowshop scheduling problem is addressed where the objective is to minimize completion time variance (CTV). CTV is a non-regular performance measure that is closely related to just-in-time philosophy. A Microsoft Excel spreadsheet-based genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed to solve the problem. The proposed GA methodology is domain-independent and general purpose. The flowshop model is developed in the spreadsheet environment using the built-in formulae and function. Addition of jobs and machines can be catered for without More >

Improving the Thermal Efficiency and Performance of Refrigeration Systems: Numerical-Experimental Analysis of Minimization of Frost Formation

Felipe Mercês Biglia1, Raquel da Cunha Ribeiro da Silva2, Fátima de Moraes Lino3, Kamal Abdel Radi Ismail3, Thiago Antonini Alves4,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.5, pp. 1771-1788, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.019625 - 21 July 2022

Abstract The frost growth on cold surfaces in evaporators is an undesirable phenomenon which becomes a problem for the thermal efficiency of the refrigeration systems because the ice layer acts as a thermal insulation, drastically reducing the rate of heat transfer in the system. Its accumulation implies an increase in energy demand and a decrease in the performance of various components involved in the refrigeration process, reducing its efficiency and making it necessary to periodically remove the frost, resulting in expenses for the defrost process. In the present work, a numerical-experimental analysis was performed in order… More >

A Novel Method for the Application of the ECMS (Equivalent Consumption Minimization Strategy) to Reduce Hydrogen Consumption in Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Vehicles

Wen Sun, Hao Liu, Ming Han, Ke Sun, Shuzhan Bai*, Guoxiang Li*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.18, No.4, pp. 867-882, 2022, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.018923 - 06 April 2022

Abstract Fuel cell hybrid electric vehicles are currently being considered as ideal means to solve the energy crisis and global warming in today’s society. In this context, this paper proposes a method to solve the problem related to the dependence of the so-called optimal equivalent factor (determined in the framework of the equivalent consumption minimum strategy-ECMS) on the working conditions. The simulation results show that under typical conditions (some representative cities being considered), the proposed strategy can maintain the power balance; for different initial battery’s states of charge (SOC), after the SOC stabilizes, the fuel consumption More >

    Avishek Banerjee1, Deepak Garg1, Victor Das2, Laxminarayan Sahoo3, Ira Nath4, Vijayakumar Varadarajan5, Ketan Kotecha6,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.2, pp. 3585-3600, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.025233 - 29 March 2022

Abstract In this paper, the establishment of efficient Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) networks has been projected to minimize the consumption of energy using a new Self-adaptive Multi-Objective Weighted Approach (SMOWA) algorithm for solving a multi-objective problem. The Different WSN nodes deployment policies have been proposed and applied in this paper to design an efficient Wireless Sensor Network to minimize energy consumption. After that, the cluster head for each cluster has been selected with the help of the duty cycle. After configuring the WSN networks, the SMOWA algorithms have been developed to obtain the minimum energy consumption… More >

Improved Test Case Selection Algorithm to Reduce Time in Regression Testing

Israr Ghani*, Wan M. N. Wan-Kadir, Adila Firdaus Arbain, Noraini Ibrahim

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.1, pp. 635-650, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.025027 - 24 February 2022

Abstract Regression testing (RT) is an essential but an expensive activity in software development. RT confirms that new faults/errors will not have occurred in the modified program. RT efficiency can be improved through an effective technique of selected only modified test cases that appropriate to the modifications within the given time frame. Earlier, several test case selection approaches have been introduced, but either these techniques were not sufficient according to the requirements of software tester experts or they are ineffective and cannot be used for available test suite specifications and architecture. To address these limitations, we… More >

Abstract Finding the suitable solution to optimization problems is a fundamental challenge in various sciences. Optimization algorithms are one of the effective stochastic methods in solving optimization problems. In this paper, a new stochastic optimization algorithm called Search Step Adjustment Based Algorithm (SSABA) is presented to provide quasi-optimal solutions to various optimization problems. In the initial iterations of the algorithm, the step index is set to the highest value for a comprehensive search of the search space. Then, with increasing repetitions in order to focus the search of the algorithm in achieving the optimal solution closer… More >

Integration of Renewable Energy Sources into the Smart Grid Using Enhanced SCA

    Shaik Karimulla, K. Ravi*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.3, pp. 1557-1572, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.022953 - 09 December 2021

Abstract The usage of energy in everyday life is growing day by day as a result of the rapid growth in the human population. One solution is to increase electricity generation to the same extent as the human population, but this is usually practically impossible. As the population is increasing, the need for electrical usage is also increasing. Therefore, smart grids play an important role in making efficient use of existing energy sources like solar, wind and battery storage systems. By managing demand, the minimization of power consumption and its consequent costs. On the load side,… More >
