Multi-Scenario Probabilistic Load Flow Calculation Considering Wind Speed Correlation

    Xueqian Wang*, Hongsheng Su

    Energy Engineering, Vol.122, No.2, pp. 667-680, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ee.2024.058102 - 31 January 2025

Abstract As the proportion of new energy increases, the traditional cumulant method (CM) produces significant errors when performing probabilistic load flow (PLF) calculations with large-scale wind power integrated. Considering the wind speed correlation, a multi-scenario PLF calculation method that combines random sampling and segmented discrete wind farm power was proposed. Firstly, based on constructing discrete scenes of wind farms, the Nataf transform is used to handle the correlation between wind speeds. Then, the random sampling method determines the output probability of discrete wind power scenarios when wind speed exhibits correlation. Finally, the PLF calculation results of More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.142, No.1, pp. 609-633, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2024.056604 - 17 December 2024

Abstract This study directs the discussion of HIV disease with a novel kind of complex dynamical generalized and piecewise operator in the sense of classical and Atangana Baleanu (AB) derivatives having arbitrary order. The HIV infection model has a susceptible class, a recovered class, along with a case of infection divided into three sub-different levels or categories and the recovered class. The total time interval is converted into two, which are further investigated for ordinary and fractional order operators of the AB derivative, respectively. The proposed model is tested separately for unique solutions and existence on… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.140, No.2, pp. 1831-1861, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2024.048199 - 20 May 2024

Abstract The multiscale method provides an effective approach for the numerical analysis of heterogeneous viscoelastic materials by reducing the degree of freedoms (DOFs). A basic framework of the Multiscale Scaled Boundary Finite Element Method (MsSBFEM) was presented in our previous works, but those works only addressed two-dimensional problems. In order to solve more realistic problems, a three-dimensional MsSBFEM is further developed in this article. In the proposed method, the octree SBFEM is used to deal with the three-dimensional calculation for numerical base functions to bridge small and large scales, the three-dimensional image-based analysis can be conveniently… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.3, pp. 2427-2464, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028771 - 03 August 2023

Abstract Various data sets showing the prevalence of numerous viral diseases have demonstrated that the transmission is not truly homogeneous. Two examples are the spread of Spanish flu and COVID-19. The aim of this research is to develop a comprehensive nonlinear stochastic model having six cohorts relying on ordinary differential equations via piecewise fractional differential operators. Firstly, the strength number of the deterministic case is carried out. Then, for the stochastic model, we show that there is a critical number that can predict virus persistence and infection eradication. Because of the peculiarity of More >

Abstract This research aims to understand the fractional order dynamics of the deadly Nipah virus (NiV) disease. We focus on using piecewise derivatives in the context of classical and singular kernels of power operators in the Caputo sense to investigate the crossover behavior of the considered dynamical system. We establish some qualitative results about the existence and uniqueness of the solution to the proposed problem. By utilizing the Newtonian polynomials interpolation technique, we recall a powerful algorithm to interpret the numerical findings for the aforesaid model. Here, we remark that the said viral infection is caused… More > Graphic Abstract

    Bao Rong Chang1, Hsiu-Fen Tsai2,*, Han-Lin Chou1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.1, pp. 107-134, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.024018 - 05 January 2023

Abstract Our previous work has introduced the newly generated program using the code transformation model GPT-2, verifying the generated programming codes through simhash (SH) and longest common subsequence (LCS) algorithms. However, the entire code transformation process has encountered a time-consuming problem. Therefore, the objective of this study is to speed up the code transformation process significantly. This paper has proposed deep learning approaches for modifying SH using a variational simhash (VSH) algorithm and replacing LCS with a piecewise longest common subsequence (PLCS) algorithm to faster the verification process in the test phase. Besides the code transformation More > Graphic Abstract

Mathematical Modeling and Evaluation of Reliability Parameters Based on Survival Possibilities under Uncertain Environment

    Alhanouf Alburaikan1, Hamiden Abd El-Wahed Khalifa1,2, Pavan Kumar3,*, Seyedali Mirjalili4,6, Ibrahim Mekawy5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.3, pp. 1943-1956, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.021815 - 20 September 2022

Abstract In this article, mathematical modeling for the evaluation of reliability is studied using two methods. One of the methods, is developed based on possibility theory. The performance of the reliability of the system is of prime concern. In view of this, the outcomes for the failure are required to evaluate with utmost care. In possibility theory, the reliability information data determined from decision-making experts are subjective. The same method is also related to the survival possibilities as against the survival probabilities. The other method is the one that is developed using the concept of approximation More >

It is employed to monitor a patient’s essential health signs for earlier disease diagnosis and prediction. Among the various disease, skin cancer was the wide variety of cancer, as well as enhances the endurance rate. In recent years, many skin cancer classification systems using machine and deep learning models have been developed for classifying skin tumors, including malignant melanoma (MM) and other skin cancers. CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.131, No.2, pp. 787-814, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.019221 - 14 March 2022

Abstract Very recently, a new concept was introduced to capture crossover behaviors that exhibit changes in patterns. The aim was to model real-world problems exhibiting crossover from one process to another, for example, randomness to a power law. The concept was called piecewise calculus, as differential and integral operators are defined piece wisely. These behaviors have been observed in the spread of several infectious diseases, for example, tuberculosis. Therefore, in this paper, we aim at modeling the spread of tuberculosis using the concept of piecewise modeling. Several cases are considered, conditions under which the unique system More >
