Blockchain Queuing Model with Non-Preemptive Limited-Priority

    Tianmu Li1,2, Yongjun Ren1,2,*, Jinyue Xia3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.5, pp. 1111-1122, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.012531

Abstract Blockchain technology has recently obtained widespread attention. And it is being regarded as potentially even more disruptive than the Internet, whose usage includes large areas of applications ranging from crypto currency, financial services, reputation system, Internet of Things, sharing economy to public and social services. The existing works of blockchain primarily are focused on key components and potential applications. However, in the existing blockchain systems, the waiting time of transactions is too long. Furthermore, it may produce serious consequences because many important transactions are not handled timely. To solve the problem, in the paper, the blockchain Queuing model with non-preemptive… More >

Hospital Bed Allocation Strategy Based on Queuing Theory during the COVID-19 Epidemic

    Jing Hu1, Gang Hu2,*, Jiantao Cai3, Lipeng Xu2, Qirun Wang4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.1, pp. 793-803, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.011110

Abstract During the current epidemic, it is necessary to ensure the rehabilitation treatment of children with serious illness. At the same time, however, it is essential to effectively prevent cross-infection and prevent infections from occurring within the hospital setting. To resolve this contradiction, the rehabilitation department of Nanjing Children’s Hospital adjusted its bed allocation based on the queuing model, with reference to the regional source and classification of the children’s conditions in the rehabilitation department ward. The original triple rooms were transformed into a double room to enable the treatment of severely sick children coming from other places. A M/G/2 queuing… More >

Traffic Queuing Management in the Internet of Things: An Optimized RED Algorithm Based Approach

Abdul Waheed1,2,*, Naila Habib Khan3, Mahdi Zareei4, Shahab Ul Islam5, Latif Jan5,6, Arif Iqbal Umar1, Ehab Mahmoud Mohamed7,8

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.1, pp. 359-372, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.012196

Abstract Congestion control is one of the main obstacles in cyberspace traffic. Overcrowding in internet traffic may cause several problems; such as high packet hold-up, high packet dropping, and low packet output. In the course of data transmission for various applications in the Internet of things, such problems are usually generated relative to the input. To tackle such problems, this paper presents an analytical model using an optimized Random Early Detection (RED) algorithm-based approach for internet traffic management. The validity of the proposed model is checked through extensive simulation-based experiments. An analysis is observed for different functions on internet traffic. Four… More >

An Improved TCP Vegas Model for the Space Networks of the Bandwidth Asymmetry

    Qixue Guan*, Yueqiu Jiang

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.4, pp. 773-781, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.010112

Abstract It is known that congestion in the reverse direction happens in advance of the congestion in the forward direction due to the significant bandwidth asymmetry in the two directions of the space networks, especially in the satellite networks, which enables the TCP Vegas to enter the phase of the congestion avoidance blindly and reduce the throughput of the forward direction. To solve this problem, a congestion control model, TCP Vegas-DDA, which maintains the frequency of the acknowledgments in the reverse direction is proposed. The model sets the interval time between acknowledgments dynamically based on the variation of the queuing delay… More >

Optimization Scheme of Large Passenger Flow in Huoying Station, Line 13 of Beijing Subway System

    Jin Zhou1, Haochen Wang1, Di Sun1, *, Siqiang Xu1, Meng Lv1, Feifei Yu2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.63, No.3, pp. 1387-1398, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.09865

Abstract This paper focuses on the distribution of passenger flow in Huoying Station, Line 13 of Beijing subway system. The transformation measures taken by Line 13 since operation are firstly summarized. Then the authors elaborate the facilities and equipment of this station, especially the node layout and passenger flow field. An optimization scheme is proposed to rapidly distribute the passenger flow in Huoying Station by adjusting the operation time of the escalator in the direction of Xizhimen. The authors adopt Queuing theory and Anylogic simulation software to simulate the original and the optimized schemes of Huoying Station to distribute the passenger… More >
