Abstract Mobile cloud computing is an emerging field that is gaining popularity across borders at a rapid pace. Similarly, the field of health informatics is also considered as an extremely important field. This work observes the collaboration between these two fields to solve the traditional problem of extracting Electrocardiogram signals from trace reports and then performing analysis. The developed system has two front ends, the first dedicated for the user to perform the photographing of the trace report. Once the photographing is complete, mobile computing is used to extract the signal. Once the signal is extracted, it is uploaded into the… More >

A Novel Trenchless Detection Technology Based on Transient Electromagnetic Method for Power Poles

    Lingda Xu1, Dandi Zhang2, Jun Zhou3,*, Zhou He2, Xiao Fang2, Yonglin Zhi1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.117, No.1, pp. 19-26, 2020, DOI:10.32604/EE.2020.010409

Abstract For the application of inspecting the construction status of distribution network poles, this paper proposed a novel detection technology for base plates, pulling plates, chucks (abbreviated as BPC) which are buried together with the power poles based on exerting external current excitation. The detection system consists of lead wires for BPC, an excitation generating circuit, a signal receiving coil, a signal conditioning circuit and an embedded processor. Compared with the traditional transient electromagnetic method, this technology is more suitable for detecting BPC which are buried shallowly, with higher sensitivity for depth changes and higher signal-to-noise ratio. Moreover, it can judge… More >

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.53, No.4, pp. 111-128, 2019, DOI:10.32604/sv.2019.03835

Abstract When acoustic method is used in leak detection for natural gas pipelines, the external interferences including operation of compressor and valve, pipeline knocking, etc., should be distinguished with acoustic leakage signals to improve the accuracy and reduce false alarms. In this paper, the technologies of extracting characteristics of acoustic signals were summarized. The acoustic leakage signals and interfering signals were measured by experiments and the characteristics of time-domain, frequency-domain and time-frequency domain were extracted. The main characteristics of time-domain are mean value, root mean square value, kurtosis, skewness and correlation function, etc. The features in frequency domain were obtained by… More >
