    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.86, No.2, pp. 1-20, 2026, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2025.070316 - 09 December 2025

Abstract The rapid proliferation of commercial unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has revolutionized fields such as precision agriculture and disaster response. However, their heavy reliance on GPS navigation leaves them highly vulnerable to spoofing attacks, with potentially severe consequences. To mitigate this threat, we present a machine learning-driven framework for real-time GPS spoofing detection, designed with a balance of detection accuracy and computational efficiency. Our work is distinguished by the creation of a comprehensive dataset of 10,000 instances that integrates both simulated and real-world data, enabling robust and generalizable model development. A comprehensive evaluation of multiple classification More >

Abstract Face antispoofing has received a lot of attention because it plays a role in strengthening the security of face recognition systems. Face recognition is commonly used for authentication in surveillance applications. However, attackers try to compromise these systems by using spoofing techniques such as using photos or videos of users to gain access to services or information. Many existing methods for face spoofing face difficulties when dealing with new scenarios, especially when there are variations in background, lighting, and other environmental factors. Recent advancements in deep learning with multi-modality methods have shown their effectiveness in… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.85, No.2, pp. 3997-4021, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2025.069332 - 23 September 2025

Abstract The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is increasingly vulnerable to sophisticated cyber threats, particularly zero-day attacks that exploit unknown vulnerabilities and evade traditional security measures. To address this critical challenge, this paper proposes a dynamic defense framework named Zero-day-aware Stackelberg Game-based Multi-Agent Distributed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (ZSG-MAD3PG). The framework integrates Stackelberg game modeling with the Multi-Agent Distributed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (MAD3PG) algorithm and incorporates defensive deception (DD) strategies to achieve adaptive and efficient protection. While conventional methods typically incur considerable resource overhead and exhibit higher latency due to static or rigid defensive mechanisms,… More >

Preventing IP Spoofing in Kubernetes Using eBPF

    Absar Hussain1, Abdul Aziz1, Hassan Jamil Syed2,*, Shoaib Raza1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.84, No.2, pp. 3105-3124, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2025.062628 - 03 July 2025

Abstract Kubernetes has become the dominant container orchestration platform, with widespread adoption across industries. However, its default pod-to-pod communication mechanism introduces security vulnerabilities, particularly IP spoofing attacks. Attackers can exploit this weakness to impersonate legitimate pods, enabling unauthorized access, lateral movement, and large-scale Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. Existing security mechanisms such as network policies and intrusion detection systems introduce latency and performance overhead, making them less effective in dynamic Kubernetes environments. This research presents PodCA, an eBPF-based security framework designed to detect and prevent IP spoofing in real time while minimizing performance impact. PodCA… More >

    Amal H. Alharbi1, S. Karthick2, K. Venkatachalam3, Mohamed Abouhawwash4,5, Doaa Sami Khafaga1,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.3, pp. 2773-2787, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.030763 - 17 August 2022

Abstract Recent security applications in mobile technologies and computer systems use face recognition for high-end security. Despite numerous security techniques, face recognition is considered a high-security control. Developers fuse and carry out face identification as an access authority into these applications. Still, face identification authentication is sensitive to attacks with a 2-D photo image or captured video to access the system as an authorized user. In the existing spoofing detection algorithm, there was some loss in the recreation of images. This research proposes an unobtrusive technique to detect face spoofing attacks that apply a single frame… More >

Edge-Computing with Graph Computation: A Novel Mechanism to Handle Network Intrusion and Address Spoofing in SDN

    Rashid Amin1, *, Mudassar Hussain2, Mohammed Alhameed3, Syed Mohsan Raza4, Fathe Jeribi3, Ali Tahir3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.65, No.3, pp. 1869-1890, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.011758 - 16 September 2020

Abstract Software Defined Networking (SDN) being an emerging network control model is widely recognized as a control and management platform. This model provides efficient techniques to control and manage the enterprise network. Another emerging paradigm is edge computing in which data processing is performed at the edges of the network instead of a central controller. This data processing at the edge nodes reduces the latency and bandwidth requirements. In SDN, the controller is a single point of failure. Several security issues related to the traditional network can be solved by using SDN central management and control.… More >
