Relationship between Authoritative Parenting Style and Preschool Children’s Emotion Regulation: A Moderated Mediation Model

    Yan Jin, Wei Chen*

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.26, No.3, pp. 189-198, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2023.045331

Abstract An authoritative parenting style has been shown to promote children’s emotion regulation in European-American family studies. However, little is known about how sleep problems and the child’s sibling status in Chinese families affect this relationship. Based on family system theory, this study attempts to better understand the relationship between authoritative parenting style and emotion regulation. Mothers of preschool children in Chinese kindergartens completed questionnaires about their children’s sleep habits, their authoritative parenting styles, and children’s emotion regulation. A total of 531 children participated in this study. Results showed that authoritative parenting was positively associated with emotional regulation. Sleep problems mediated… More >

Real Time Vehicle Status Monitoring under Moving Conditions Using a Low Power IoT System

    M. Vlachos1,*, R. Lopardo2, A. Amditis1

    Journal on Internet of Things, Vol.4, No.4, pp. 235-261, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jiot.2022.040820

Abstract In the era of the Internet of Things (IoT), the ever-increasing number of devices connected to the IoT networks also increases the energy consumption on the edge. This is prohibitive since the devices living on the edge are generally resource constrained devices in terms of energy consumption and computational power. Thus, trying to tackle this issue, in this paper, a fully automated end-to-end IoT system for real time monitoring of the status of a moving vehicle is proposed. The IoT system consists mainly of three components: (1) the ultra-low power consumption Wireless Sensor Node (WSN), (2) the IoT gateway and… More >

Abstract The extensive use of nanoparticles (NPs) in diverse applications causes their localization to aquatic habitats, affecting the metabolic products of primary producers in aquatic ecosystems, such as algae. Synthesized calcium oxide nanoparticles (CaO NPs) are of the scarcely studied NPs. Thus, the current work proposed that the exposure to CaO NPs may instigate metabolic pathway to be higher than that of normally growing algae, and positively stimulate algal biomass. In this respect, this research was undertaken to study the exposure effect of CaO NPs (0, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 µg mL−1 ) on the growth, photosynthesis, respiration, oxidative… More >

A Study on the Improvement of Mental Health Status of Teachers’ Occupational Stress and Chronic Anxiety under Aerobic Exercise Alternative Activities

    Sanyou Yan1,*, Huaqing Yan2

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.25, No.2, pp. 249-263, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2023.023031

Abstract The purpose of this study is to observe the occupational stress and chronic anxiety of college teachers and to carry out alternate activities of aerobic exercise to improve their mental health, the participants are 214 teachers from three universities in Yunnan Province, China. The results show that before the experiment, the overall situation of college teachers’ occupational stress and chronic anxiety is at a high level, while after the experiment, the occupational stress and chronic anxiety of college teachers are significantly relieved. In terms of gender, male teachers have higher occupational stress and chronic anxiety than female teachers before the… More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.92, No.3, pp. 955-981, 2023, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2023.025138

Abstract Drought is one of the critical conditions for the growth and productivity of many crops including mung bean (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek). Screening of genotypes for variations is one of the suitable strategies for evaluating crop adaptability and global food security. In this context, the study investigated the physiological and biochemical responses of four drought tolerant (BARI Mung-8, BMX-08010-2, BMX-010015, BMX-08009-7), and four drought sensitive (BARI Mung-1, BARI Mung-3, BU Mung-4, BMX-05001) mung bean genotypes under wellwatered (WW) and water deficit (WD) conditions. The WW treatment maintained sufficient soil moisture (22% ± 0.5%, i.e., 30% deficit of available water) by… More >

An Analysis Model of Learners’ Online Learning Status Based on Deep Neural Network and Multi-Dimensional Information Fusion

    Mingyong Li1, Lirong Tang1, Longfei Ma1, Honggang Zhao1, Jinyu Hu1, Yan Wei1,2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.135, No.3, pp. 2349-2371, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.022604

Abstract The learning status of learners directly affects the quality of learning. Compared with offline teachers, it is difficult for online teachers to capture the learning status of students in the whole class, and it is even more difficult to continue to pay attention to students while teaching. Therefore, this paper proposes an online learning state analysis model based on a convolutional neural network and multi-dimensional information fusion. Specifically, a facial expression recognition model and an eye state recognition model are constructed to detect students’ emotions and fatigue, respectively. By integrating the detected data with the homework test score data after… More >
