    Yuewei Tian1, Yang Su2, Yujia Wang1, Lisa Guo1, Xuyang Wu3,*, Lei Cao4, Fang Ren3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.86, No.3, 2026, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2025.072081 - 12 January 2026

Abstract This study addresses the risk of privacy leakage during the transmission and sharing of multimodal data in smart grid substations by proposing a three-tier privacy-preserving architecture based on asynchronous federated learning. The framework integrates blockchain technology, the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) for distributed storage, and a dynamic differential privacy mechanism to achieve collaborative security across the storage, service, and federated coordination layers. It accommodates both multimodal data classification and object detection tasks, enabling the identification and localization of key targets and abnormal behaviors in substation scenarios while ensuring privacy protection. This effectively mitigates the single-point… More >

Abstract Aiming at the challenge of complex load balancing coordination for a three-phase four-leg (3P4L) based multi-ended low voltage flexible DC distribution system (M-LVDC) considering unbalanced power compensation, this paper proposes a phase-split power decoupling unbalanced compensation strategy based load balancing strategy for 3P4L based M-LVDC. Firstly, the topology and operation principle of the 3P4L-based M-LVDC system is introduced, and quasi-proportional resonant (QPR) based phase-split power current control for the 3P4L converter is proposed. Secondly, a load-balancing control strategy considering unbalanced compensation for 3P4L-based M-LVDC is presented, in which the control diagrams for each 3P4L-based converter… More >

    Yunzhao Wu1, Guanglin Sha1, Qing Duan1, Xinwei Cong1, Lu Liu1, Ning Zhou2, Yingjie Zhou3,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.122, No.3, pp. 1093-1112, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ee.2025.060349 - 07 March 2025

Abstract To enhance energy interaction among low-voltage stations (LVSs) and reduce the line loss of the distribution network, a novel operation mode of the micro-pumped storage system (mPSS) has been proposed based on the common reservoir. First, some operation modes of mPSS are analyzed, which include the separated reservoir mode (SRM) and common reservoir mode (CRM). Then, based on the SRM, and CRM, an energy mutual assistance control model between LVSs has been built to optimize energy loss. Finally, in the simulation, compared to the model without pumped storage in the LVS, the SRM and CLRM… More > Graphic Abstract

    Tiecheng Li1, Qingquan Liu1, Hui Fan2, Xianzhi Wang1, Daming Zhou3,*, Junan Guo3, Lee Li3, Kun Zhou3, Yujie Hu3

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.5, pp. 2105-2134, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.017718 - 21 July 2022

Abstract Accurate conditions monitoring and early wrong action warnings of relay protection in the Smart Substation is the basic guarantee to realize the normal operation of primary and secondary system of the power grid. At present, the traditional operation and maintenance monitoring methods of relay protections have poor timeliness, while some automatic monitoring methods have insufficient early warning performance, and lack the online action deduction function independent of the actual device. In this paper, a design method of integrated action deduction system including protection logic reasoning and software and hardware operation condition is proposed. The system More >

    Qiang Zhang1, Xianguang Zha1, Jun Wu1, Liang Zhang1, Wei Dai2, Gang Ren3, Shiqian Li3, Ning Ji3,*, Xiangjun Zhu3, Fengwei Tian3

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.16, No.1, pp. 37-51, 2022, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2022.018422 - 11 February 2022

Abstract As the emergency power supply for a simulation substation, lead-acid batteries have a work pattern featuring non-continuous operation, which leads to capacity regeneration. However, the accurate estimation of battery state of charge (SOC), a measurement of the amount of energy available in a battery, remains a hard nut to crack because of the non-stationarity and randomness of battery capacity change. This paper has proposed a comprehensive method for lead-acid battery SOC estimation, which may aid in maintaining a reasonable charging schedule in a simulation substation and improving battery’s durability. Based on the battery work pattern, More >

Abstract Substation inspection work plays a very important role in ensuring the normal production and the safe operation of a transformer substation. Use of a substation inspection robot can effectively solve the omission problems of a manual inspection. It can further improve the unmanned and automation of substation and improve security of station. A substation inspection system requires the establishment of a spatial position relation between the robot and the inspection object in the monitoring station. Key technology is the spatial location of the object being detected in the substation. The position of inspection object is… More >
