Road Performance, Thermal Conductivity, and Temperature Distribution of Steel Slag Rubber Asphalt Surface Layer

Zhiqiang Shu, Jianmin Wu*, Shaoqing Li, Bingbing Zhang, Jianqi Yang

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.9, No.2, pp. 365-380, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2021.014379 - 15 December 2020

Abstract The use of steel slag, which is a by-product of the steel manufacture, in the construction of asphalt pavement would contribute to waste reduction and environment protection. Using rubber asphalt at the same time can improve the performance of asphalt mixture. This study investigates the influence of steel slag content on the road performance, thermal conductivity and outdoor temperature distribution of steel slag rubber asphalt mixtures (SSRAM), and calculates the cumulative stress in surface layer. At a certain range of concentration, the steel slag additive improved the deformation resistance and low-temperature cracking resistance of the… More >

High-Throughput MicroRNA and mRNA Sequencing Reveals that MicroRNAs May Be Involved in Pectinesterase-Mediated Cold Resistance in Potato

    Chongchong Yan1, Qianqian Wang1, Nan Zhang2, Jiajia Wang1, Xuexiang Ren1, Bingjie Xue3, Xiaojing Pu4, Zhihong Xu4, Huajun Liao1,*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.89, No.3, pp. 561-586, 2020, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2020.010322 - 22 June 2020

Abstract Since potato cultivars are sensitive to low temperature, cold injury severely affects the geographical distribution and yield of potato. Although some miRNAs have been identified in response to cold stress in plants, there is no report about the role of miRNAs in the response to cold stress in potato. Here, via high throughput sequencing, we described the profiling of cold stress response to miRNA and mRNA in potato. Two small RNA and six mRNA libraries were constructed and sequenced. 296 known and 211 novel miRNAs were identified, in which 34 miRNAs in Cold Group (CG)… More >

Study on On-site Monitoring of Hydration Heat of Mass Concrete for Bridge Slab Based on Measured Data

    Gao Xiaolong1, Li Chunguang2, Qiao Yunhong3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.4, pp. 775-783, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000081

Abstract Plagued by consistent temperature cracks caused by hydration heat of mass concrete construction, a lot of research on concrete DAMS and other large hydraulic concrete, the theory also more deeply, and for large span bridge foundation pile caps, corresponding much smaller size of mass concrete, the related research is less. This article obtains from the cooling water pipes "embedded" scheme optimization, based on the new Tianjin Haihe river bridge project as the engineering background, construction of the concrete hydration heat temperature rise theory model was set up, with the help of theory formula, the numerical More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.75, pp. 31-40, 2006, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2006.75.031

Abstract Effects of water and high temperature stresses, either separately or in combination, over biomass accumulation, grain yield and its direct components grain number per ear and individual grain weight], as well as harvest index were determined in four tropical maize populations. Results indicated that water stress do not significantly affect the studied variables, due to the absence of a severe water stress during flowering. This was the result of the fallen precipitation at this time. The most important factor in this study was high temperature, which significantly reduced all studied variables, except individual grain weight.… More >
