    Zakaria Laggoun1,*, Amel Khalfaoui1, Kerroum Derbal2,*, Amira Fadia Ghomrani3, Abderrezzaq Benalia2,4, Antonio Pizzi5

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.13, No.1, pp. 127-146, 2025, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2024.056970 - 20 January 2025

Abstract This research aims to study the bio-adsorption process of two dyes, Cibacron Green H3G (CG-H3G) and Terasil Red (TR), in a single system and to bring them closer to the industrial textile discharge by a binary mixture of two dyes (TR+CG-H3G). The Cockle Shell (CS) was used as a natural bio-adsorbent. The characterizations of CS were investigated by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET). The adsorption potential of Cockle Shells was tested in two cases (single and binary system) and determined by: contact… More > Graphic Abstract

Macroscopic Modelling Approach for Textile Reinforcement Forming

    Renzi Bai1,2,*, Julien Colmars3, Hui Cheng1,2, Kaifu Zhang1,2, Philippe Boisse3

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.30, No.3, pp. 1-1, 2024, DOI:10.32604/icces.2024.011719

Abstract The increasing use of composite material require more efficient and inexpensive manufacturing process analysis method to optimize the product quality. The manufacture of textile reinforced composites often requires the preforming of a dry textile reinforcement and the subsequent injection of a resin in Liquid Composite Moulding processes (LCM). The composite can also be produced by thermoforming a prepreg consisting of a textile reinforcement incorporating the unhardened matrix, so that the composite can be formed. In both cases (LCM and prepreg), the forming process is driven by the deformation of the textile reinforcement which is influenced… More >

    Maya Ismayati1,*, Nissa Nurfajrin Solihat1, Fifi Melinda Setiawati2, Wasrin Syafii2, Yuki Tobimatsu3, Deni Zulfiana4

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.12, No.9, pp. 1625-1637, 2024, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2024.054739 - 25 September 2024

Abstract Tannins are capable of producing natural dyes with antioxidant and antibacterial propertis, while synthetic dyes are commonly used in the textile industry, causing environmental issues like water pollution. This research aims to utilize waste tannins as natural dyes as an alternative to synthetic dyes. This study examined the effect of the extraction method on tannin properties such as phenolic content, antioxidants, and antibacterial activity. In addition, Pyrolysis Gas Chromatography‒Mass Spectrometry (Py-GCMS) analysis was used to identify the effect of extraction temperature on the chemical elucidation of tannin. The effect of tannin concentration was evaluated against… More > Graphic Abstract

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.1, pp. 537-551, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.037381 - 26 May 2023

Abstract This paper presents a flexible and wearable textile array antenna designed to generate Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) waves with Mode +2 at 3.5 GHz (3.4 to 3.6 GHz) of the sub-6 GHz fifth-generation (5G) New Radio (NR) band. The proposed antenna is based on a uniform circular array of eight microstrip patch antennas on a felt textile substrate. In contrast to previous works involving the use of rigid substrates to generate OAM waves, this work explored the use of flexible substrates to generate OAM waves for the first time. Other than that, the proposed antenna… More >

Applying Job Shop Scheduling to SMEs Manufacturing Platform to Revitalize B2B Relationship

Yeonjee Choi1, Hyun Suk Hwang2, Chang Soo Kim1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.3, pp. 4901-4916, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.035219 - 28 December 2022

Abstract A small and medium enterprises (SMEs) manufacturing platform aims to perform as a significant revenue to SMEs and vendors by providing scheduling and monitoring capabilities. The optimal job shop scheduling is generated by utilizing the scheduling system of the platform, and a minimum production time, i.e., makespan decides whether the scheduling is optimal or not. This scheduling result allows manufacturers to achieve high productivity, energy savings, and customer satisfaction. Manufacturing in Industry 4.0 requires dynamic, uncertain, complex production environments, and customer-centered services. This paper proposes a novel method for solving the difficulties of the SMEs… More >

Abstract The research volume increases at the study rate, causing massive text corpora. Due to these enormous text corpora, we are drowning in data and starving for information. Therefore, recent research employed different text mining approaches to extract information from this text corpus. These proposed approaches extract meaningful and precise phrases that effectively describe the text's information. These extracted phrases are commonly termed keyphrases. Further, these key phrases are employed to determine the different fields of study trends. Moreover, these key phrases can also be used to determine the spatiotemporal trends in the various research fields.… More >

    Jianjun Guo1,2, Lingling Jia3, Sandra Senyo Fometu4, Qiang Ma5, Jinjin Wang1, Hang Li1, Lei Jiang5, Guohua Wu1,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.12, pp. 3373-3389, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.021087 - 14 July 2022

Abstract Traditionally, silkworm silk has been used to make high-quality textiles. Nevertheless, various wastes from silkworm silk textiles that are no longer used are increasing, which is also causing considerable waste and contamination. This issue is causing widespread concern in countries that use more silk. Regenerated silk fibroin (RSF) fibers have been shown to be fragile and tender, which prohibits RSF from being widely used as a structural component. Therefore, enriching the function of silk and enhancing the RSF mechanical properties are important directions to expand the comprehensive utilization of silk products. In the present research,… More >
