    Review of Unsupervised Person Re-Identification

    Yang Dai*, Zhiyuan Luo

    Journal of New Media, Vol.3, No.4, pp. 129-136, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2021.023981

Abstract Person re-identification (re-ID) aims to match images of the same pedestrian across different cameras. It plays an important role in the field of security and surveillance. Although it has been studied for many years, it is still considered as an unsolved problem. Since the rise of deep learning, the accuracy of supervised person re-ID on public datasets has reached the highest level. However, these methods are difficult to apply to real-life scenarios because a large number of labeled training data is required in this situation. Pedestrian identity labeling, especially cross-camera pedestrian identity labeling, is heavy and expensive. Why we cannot… More >

    Yingchao Wang1, Yuanhao Zhu1, Zongtian Zhang1, Huihuang Liu1,* , Peng Guo2

    Journal of New Media, Vol.3, No.4, pp. 119-128, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2021.016655

Abstract In order to improve user satisfaction and loyalty on e-commerce websites, recommendation algorithms are used to recommend products that may be of interest to users. Therefore, the accuracy of the recommendation algorithm is a primary issue. So far, there are three mainstream recommendation algorithms, content-based recommendation algorithms, collaborative filtering algorithms and hybrid recommendation algorithms. Content-based recommendation algorithms and collaborative filtering algorithms have their own shortcomings. The contentbased recommendation algorithm has the problem of the diversity of recommended items, while the collaborative filtering algorithm has the problem of data sparsity and scalability. On the basis of these two algorithms, the hybrid… More >

A Visual pH Indicator through Purple Cabbage Dye for Freshness Test of Venison

Kaixin Qi, Guiying Wang*, Yinggang Huang, Pengfei Fang

    Journal of New Media, Vol.3, No.3, pp. 109-118, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2021.019694

Abstract A visual pH indicator through purple cabbage dye is selected to test the freshness of venison. Chitosan and cassava starch of an equal weight were used to prepare the film-forming matrix of the indicator. The crystallization of natural purple cabbage dyes with a weight ratio of 5%, 10%, 20% and 40% were added to the matrix, respectively. The pH color test showed that the natural purple cabbage lyophilized powder with a weight ratio of 40% was the best for the pH indicator, which was used to test the freshness of venison stored at 4℃. The total bacterial count, volatile basic… More >

Social Network Rumor Recognition Based on Enhanced Naive Bayes

    Lei Guo*

    Journal of New Media, Vol.3, No.3, pp. 99-107, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2021.019649

Abstract In recent years, with the increasing popularity of social networks, rumors have become more common. At present, the solution to rumors in social networks is mainly through media censorship and manual reporting, but this method requires a lot of manpower and material resources, and the cost is relatively high. Therefore, research on the characteristics of rumors and automatic identification and classification of network message text is of great significance. This paper uses the Naive Bayes algorithm combined with Laplacian smoothing to identify rumors in social network texts. The first is to segment the text and remove the stop words after… More >

BFS Parallel Algorithm Based on Sunway TaihuLight

    Yang Zhou1, Jinhui He1, Hao Yang1,2,*

    Journal of New Media, Vol.3, No.2, pp. 63-72, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2021.018829

Abstract In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to the research and application of graph structure. As the most typical representative of graph structure algorithm, breadth first search algorithm is widely used in many fields. However, the performance of traditional serial breadth first search (BFS) algorithm is often very low in specific areas, especially in large-scale graph structure traversal. However, it is very common to deal with large-scale graph structure in scientific research. At the same time, the computing performance of supercomputer has also made great progress. China’s self-developed supercomputer system Sunway TaihuLight (SW) has won the top… More >

    Jiancheng Zou1, Shouyu Zhou1,*, Bailin Ge1, Xin Yang2

    Journal of New Media, Vol.3, No.2, pp. 41-51, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2021.017764

Abstract Blood pressure is an important physiological parameter to reflect human vital signs. In order to achieve the non-contact dynamic blood pressure acquisition based on ordinary optical camera, a theoretical understanding of the functional relationship between blood pressure and pulse wave signal conduction time. And through imaging photoelectric plethysmography (IPPG), pulse wave signal conduction time of forehead and hand was obtained with ordinary optical camera. First, the pulse wave conduction time was obtained by recording the video with an ordinary optical camera. Second, real-time blood pressure values were collected. Finally, based on the relationship between blood pressure and pulse wave conduction… More >
