Jianwei Zhang, Zhenxing Wang, Yuhui Zheng, Guoqing Zhang*

    Journal of New Media, Vol.3, No.1, pp. 29-39, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2021.018383

Abstract Image super resolution is an important field of computer research. The current mainstream image super-resolution technology is to use deep learning to mine the deeper features of the image, and then use it for image restoration. However, most of these models mentioned above only trained the images in a specific scale and do not consider the relationships between different scales of images. In order to utilize the information of images at different scales, we design a cascade network structure and cascaded super-resolution convolutional neural networks. This network contains three cascaded FSRCNNs. Due to each sub FSRCNN can process a specific… More >

    Journal of New Media, Vol.3, No.1, pp. 19-27, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2021.018267

Abstract Every day we receive a large amount of information through different social media and software, and this data and information can be realized with the advent of data mining methods. In the process of data mining, to solve some high-dimensional problems, feature selection is carried out in limited training samples, and effective features are selected. This paper focuses on two Relief feature selection algorithms: Relief and ReliefF algorithm. The differences between them and their respective applicable scopes are analyzed. Based on Relief algorithm, the high weight feature subset is obtained, and the correlation between features is calculated according to the… More >

    Zhiyuan Luo*

    Journal of New Media, Vol.3, No.1, pp. 11-17, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2021.018027

Abstract Person re-ID is becoming increasingly popular in the field of modern surveillance. The purpose of person re-ID is to retrieve person of interests in non-overlapping multi-camera surveillance system. Due to the complexity of the surveillance scene, the person images captured by cameras often have problems such as size variation, rotation, occlusion, illumination difference, etc., which brings great challenges to the study of person re-ID. In recent years, studies based on deep learning have achieved great success in person re-ID. The improvement of basic networks and a large number of studies on the influencing factors have greatly improved the accuracy of… More >

Elderly Fall Detection Based on Improved SSD Algorithm

    Jiancheng Zou1, Na Zhu1,*, Bailin Ge1, Don Hong2

    Journal of New Media, Vol.3, No.1, pp. 1-10, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2021.017763

Abstract We propose an improved a single-shot detector (SSD) algorithm to detect falls of the elderly. The VGG16 network part of the SSD network is replaced with the MobilenetV2 network. At the same time, we change the infrastructure of MobilenetV2 network, the three layers that were not downsampled at the end were removed, which can make the model structure simpler and faster to detect. The complete Intersection-over-Union (CIoU) loss function is introduced to get a good regression of the target borders that have different sizes and different proportions. We use Feature Pyramid Network (FPN) for upsampling, it can fuse low-level feature… More >

    Journal of New Media, Vol.2, No.4, pp. 167-172, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2020.012816

Abstract In order to improve the accuracy of wireless network positioning, the triangulation method of wireless network positioning technology is proposed, which is based on the linear least square fitting method. It makes the observed value and the fitting value very close, effectively solves the problem of significant contradiction between the fitting result and the observed value in the principle of least square method, and can realize the accurate measurement of geographic information by wireless network positioning technology. Jihai Yang1, Zongtao Duan1, Muyao Wang2, Jabar Mahmood1, Yuanyuan Xiao1, Yun Yang1,*

    Journal of New Media, Vol.2, No.4, pp. 157-165, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2020.014309

Abstract Modern autonomous vehicles are getting progressively popular and increasingly getting closer to the core of future development in transportation field. However, there is no reliable authentication mechanism for the unmanned vehicle communication system, this phenomenon draws attention about the security of autonomous vehicles of people in all aspects. Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) circuits is light-weight, and it can product unique and unpredictable digital signature utilizing the manufacturing variations occur in each die and these exact silicon features cannot be recreated theoretically. Considering security issues of communication between Electronic Control Units (ECUs) in vehicles, we propose a novel delay-based PUF circuit… More >

Robust Cultivated Land Extraction Using Encoder-Decoder

    Aziguli Wulamu1,2,*, Jingyue Sang3, Dezheng Zhang1,2, Zuxian Shi1,2

    Journal of New Media, Vol.2, No.4, pp. 149-155, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2020.014115

Abstract Cultivated land extraction is essential for sustainable development and agriculture. In this paper, the network we propose is based on the encoderdecoder structure, which extracts the semantic segmentation neural network of cultivated land from satellite images and uses it for agricultural automation solutions. The encoder consists of two part: the first is the modified Xception, it can used as the feature extraction network, and the second is the atrous convolution, it can used to expand the receptive field and the context information to extract richer feature information. The decoder part uses the conventional upsampling operation to restore the original resolution.… More >

    Journal of New Media, Vol.2, No.4, pp. 137-148, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2020.014278

Abstract Person Re-identification (re-ID) is a hot research topic in the field of computer vision now, which can be regarded as a sub-problem of image retrieval. The goal of person re-ID is to give a monitoring pedestrian image and retrieve other images of the pedestrian across the device. At present, person re-ID is mainly divided into two categories. One is the traditional methods, which relies heavily on manual features. The other is to use deep learning technology to solve. Because traditional methods mainly rely on manual feature, they cannot adapt well to a complex environment with a large amount of data.… More >

Abstract With the continuous development of the computer, people's requirements for computers are also getting more and more, so the brain-computer interface system (BCI) has become an essential part of computer research. Emotion recognition is an important task for the computer to understand social status in BCI. Affective computing (AC) aims to develop the model of emotions and advance the affective intelligence of computers. There are various emotion recognition approaches. The method based on electroencephalogram (EEG) is more reliable because it is higher in accuracy and more objective in evaluation than other external appearance clues such as emotion expression and gesture.… More >
