    Angle of Attack Between Blood Flow and Mitral Valve Leaflets in Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy: An In Vivo Multi-patient CT-based FSI Study

    Abstract The mechanisms of systolic anterior motion (SAM) of the mitral valve in hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) remain unclear. To investigate the angle of attack between blood flow and mitral valve leaflets at pre-SAM time point, patient-specific CT-based computational models were constructed for 5 patients receiving septal myectomy surgery to obtain pre- and post-operative 2D vector flow mapping.     Abstract A three-dimensional numerical model of the membranous labyrinth of the semicircular canal of the inner ear was established to investigate the effects of canalithiasis of BPPV on the balance function of the inner ear.     Abstract Corrosion inhibition performances of three purine derivatives were investigated systematically by employing DFT and molecular modeling. The relationship between macroscopic inhibition efficiency and quantum chemical properties was discussed from multiple perspectives, based on frontier orbital theory, and Fukui function theories. Comparative experimental and theoretical studies were taken, indicating the inhibition efficiency could be analyzed in the order of guanine <2,6-diaminopurine <2,6-dithiopurine.     Abstract In this paper, the three-variable shifted Jacobi operational matrix of fractional derivatives is used together with the collocation method for numerical solution of three-dimensional multi-term fractional-order PDEs with variable coefficients. The main characteristic behind this approach is that it reduces such problems to those of solving a system of algebraic equations which greatly simplifying the problem.
