Abeer Abdulaziz AlArfaj, Hanan Ahmed Hosni Mahmoud*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.3, pp. 5655-5669, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.031135 - 28 July 2022

Abstract Lie detection test is highly significant task due to its impact on criminology and society. Computerized lie detection test model using electroencephalogram (EEG) signals is studied in literature. In this paper we studied deep learning framework in lie detection test paradigm. First, we apply a preprocessing technique to utilize only a small fragment of the EEG image instead of the whole image. Our model describes a temporal feature map of the EEG signals measured during the lie detection test. A deep learning attention model (V-TAM) extracts the temporal map vector during the learning process. This… More >

    Mubashar Hussain1, Toqir A. Rana2,3, Aksam Iftikhar4, M. Usman Ashraf5,*, Muhammad Waseem Iqbal6, Ahmed Alshaflut7, Abdullah Alourani8

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.3, pp. 4641-4656, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024759 - 28 July 2022

Abstract In the field of sentiment analysis, extracting aspects or opinion targets from user reviews about a product is a key task. Extracting the polarity of an opinion is much more useful if we also know the targeted Aspect or Feature. Rule based approaches, like dependency-based rules, are quite popular and effective for this purpose. However, they are heavily dependent on the authenticity of the employed parts-of-speech (POS) tagger and dependency parser. Another popular rule based approach is to use sequential rules, wherein the rules formulated by learning from the user’s behavior. However, in general, the… More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.9, pp. 2409-2429, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.020503 - 30 May 2022

Abstract The use of natural lignocellulosic fibers (NLFs) as a reinforcement mechanism for cementitious composites, such as mortar, has been investigated in the last decades. However, their application has often been restricted to technological evaluation research. A NLF with great potential the curaua, which after treatment with NaOH solution, proved to be technologically feasible for mortars reinforcement based on cement and lime. The objective of this research was the comparative evaluation between a traditional mortar, based on cement and lime, with 1:1:6:0.8 ratio of cement: lime: sand: water, and a modified mortar with addition of 2… More >

    BIOCELL, Vol.46, No.8, pp. 1827-1835, 2022, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2022.020462 - 22 April 2022

Abstract Oral Cancer (OC) is one of the most recurrent cancers in the head and neck squamous cancer (SCCHN) category. Recently, the genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have gained growing interest in the scientific community. GWAS have identified several pathways involved in the interactions among general risk factors and genomic variants affecting SCCHN. This systematic overview aims to critically evaluate the latest data reported within the scientific literature. The aim was to investigate the impact of genetic aspects on SCCHN onset and prognosis, involving other clinical and systemic co-factors. Numerical Aspects of Isogeometric Boundary Element Methods: (Nearly) Singular Quadrature, Trimmed NURBS and Surface Crack Modeling

    Xuan Peng1,*, Haojie Lian2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.130, No.1, pp. 513-542, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.017410 - 29 November 2021

Abstract This work presents some numerical aspects of isogeometric boundary element methods (IGABEM). The behavior of hyper-singular and nearly-singular integration is first explored on the distorted NURBS surface. Several numerical treatments are proposed to enhance the quadrature in the framework of isogeometric analysis. Then a numerical implementation of IGABEM on the trimmed NURBS is detailed. Based on this idea, the surface crack problem is modeled incorporation with the phantom element method. The proposed method allows the crack to intersect with the boundary of the body while preserving the original parametrization of the NURBS-based CAD geometry. More >

Multi-Level Knowledge Engineering Approach for Mapping Implicit Aspects to Explicit Aspects

    Jibran Mir1, Azhar Mahmood2,*, Shaheen Khatoon3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.2, pp. 3491-3509, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.019952 - 27 September 2021

Abstract Aspect's extraction is a critical task in aspect-based sentiment analysis, including explicit and implicit aspects identification. While extensive research has identified explicit aspects, little effort has been put forward on implicit aspects extraction due to the complexity of the problem. Moreover, existing research on implicit aspect identification is widely carried out on product reviews targeting specific aspects while neglecting sentences’ dependency problems. Therefore, in this paper, a multi-level knowledge engineering approach for identifying implicit movie aspects is proposed. The proposed method first identifies explicit aspects using a variant of BiLSTM and CRF (Bidirectional Long Short… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.126, No.1, pp. 147-173, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.012839 - 22 December 2020

Abstract The hydrothermal behavior of air inside a solar channel heat exchanger equipped with various shaped ribs is analyzed numerically. The bottom wall of the exchanger is kept adiabatic, while a constant value of the temperature is set at the upper wall. The duct is equipped with a flat rectangular fin on the upper wall and an upstream V-shaped baffle on the lower wall. Furthermore, five hot wall-attached rib shapes are considered: trapezoidal, square, triangular pointing upstream (type I), triangular pointing downstream (type II), and equilateral-triangular (type III) cross sections. Effects of the flow rates are… More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.8, No.12, pp. 1633-1645, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2020.011377 - 12 November 2020

Abstract In this work, Epoxidized natural rubber/sawdust short fiber (ENR-50/ SD) composites at different fiber content (5, 10, 15 and 20 phr) and size (fine size at 60–100 μm and coarse size at 10–20 mm) were prepared using two-roll mill and electrical-hydraulic hot press machine respectively. Curing characteristics, water uptake, tensile, morphological, physical, and thermal properties of the composites were investigated. Results indicated that the scorch time and cure time became shorter whereas torque improved as SD content increase. Though the decline of tensile strength and elongation at break values, modulus, hardness and crosslinking density have More >
