Hidden Hierarchy Based on Cipher-Text Attribute Encryption for IoT Data Privacy in Cloud

    Zaid Abdulsalam Ibrahim1,*, Muhammad Ilyas2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.1, pp. 939-956, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.035798

Abstract Most research works nowadays deal with real-time Internet of Things (IoT) data. However, with exponential data volume increases, organizations need help storing such humongous amounts of IoT data in cloud storage systems. Moreover, such systems create security issues while efficiently using IoT and Cloud Computing technologies. Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) has the potential to make IoT data more secure and reliable in various cloud storage services. Cloud-assisted IoTs suffer from two privacy issues: access policies (public) and super polynomial decryption times (attributed mainly to complex access structures). We have developed a CP-ABE scheme in alignment with a Hidden Hierarchy Ciphertext-Policy… More >

    R. Karthik1, R. Menaka1,*, P. Ponmathi2, Daehan Won3, P. Vinitha Joshy1, J. G. Aravindan4, S. Harshavardhan4, K. V. S. D. Aashish kumar4, R. Akileshkumar4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.1, pp. 333-348, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.037661

Abstract Diastasis Recti Abdominis (DRA) is the separation of abdominal recti muscles which occurs in women during their pregnancy and postpartum time. This is because of the stretching of the linea alba, a fibrous connective tissue on the abdominal wall. The Linea Alba is elastic and retracts back after the delivery of the baby. When this tissue gets overstretched, it loses its elasticity and the gap in the abdominals may not be closed leading to DRA. The motive of this research is to analyze the postpartum rehabilitation for signals from Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensors. The conservative treatment for women who… More >

A Brachypodium distachyon calcineurin B-like protein-interacting protein kinase, BdCIPK26, enhances plant adaption to drought and high salinity stress

    QINGCHEN LUO1,#,*, JIALU FENG2,#, XIUQI DENG1

    BIOCELL, Vol.47, No.5, pp. 1145-1158, 2023, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2023.027847

Abstract As sessile organisms, plants possess a complex system to cope with environmental changes. Ca2+ functions as a vital second messenger in the stress signaling of plants, and the CBL-interacting protein kinases (CIPKs) serve as essential elements in the plant Ca2+ signaling pathway. In this study, calcineurin B-like protein-interacting protein kinase 26 (BdCIPK26) from Brachypodium distachyon was characterized. Overexpression of BdCIPK26 enhanced tolerance to drought and salt stress of transgenic plants. Further investigations revealed that BdCIPK26 participated in abscisic acid (ABA) signaling, conferred hypersensitivity to exogenous ABA in transgenic plants, and promoted endogenous ABA biosynthesis. Moreover, BdCIPK26 was found to maintain… More >

    HAN WANG1,2,#, YANG SUN1,2,#, XIAOXU ZHANG2,3, XIAOYING WANG4, YUJUN XIA1,*, LISHENG WANG1,2,*

    BIOCELL, Vol.47, No.5, pp. 1107-1115, 2023, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2023.027131

Abstract Background: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract. The destruction of the intestinal epithelial barrier is one of the major pathological processes in IBD pathology. Growing evidence indicated that epithelial cell ferroptosis is linked to IBD and is considered a target process. Methods: RAS-selective lethal 3 (RSL3) was used to induce ferroptosis in intestinal epithelial cell line No. 6 (IEC-6) cells, and cell ferroptosis and the effects of tanshinone IIA (Tan IIA) were determined by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8), reactive oxygen species (ROS) staining, Giemsa staining and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The cell viability… More >

Mechanical Analysis of a Multi-Test String in High-Temperature and High-Pressure Deep Wells

    Zubing Tang*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.8, pp. 2161-2170, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.026608

Abstract The mechanical behavior of the test string in deep wells is generally relatively complex as a result of the high temperature and high pressure, severe dogleg and buckling effects, which in some circumstances can even lead to string failure. Traditional computational methods for the analysis of these behaviors are often inaccurate. For this reason, here a more accurate mechanical model of the test string is introduced by considering variables such as temperature, pressure, wellbore trajectory, and buckling, as well as combining them with the deformation and string constraint conditions brought in by changes in temperature and pressure during the tripping,… More >

ProbD: Faulty Path Detection Based on Probability in Software-Defined Networking

    Jiangyuan Yao1, Jiawen Wang1, Shuhua Weng1, Minrui Wang1, Deshun Li1,*, Yahui Li2, Xingcan Cao3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 1783-1796, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.034265

Abstract With the increasing number of switches in Software-Defined Networking (SDN), there are more and more faults rising in the data plane. However, due to the existence of link redundancy and multi-path forwarding mechanisms, these problems cannot be detected in time. The current faulty path detection mechanisms have problems such as the large scale of detection and low efficiency, which is difficult to meet the requirements of efficient faulty path detection in large-scale SDN. Concerning this issue, we propose an efficient network path fault testing model ProbD based on probability detection. This model achieves a high probability of detecting arbitrary path… More >

Surface, Thermal and Antimicrobial Release Properties of Plasma-Treated Zein Films

    S.K. Pankaj1, C. Bueno-Ferrer1, N.N. Misra1, L. O’Neill2, A. Jiménez3, P. Bourke1, P.J. Cullen1,4,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.2, No.1, pp. 77-84, 2014, DOI:10.7569/JRM.2013.634129

Abstract The effects of dielectric barrier discharge plasma treatment on zein fi lm containing thymol as an active ingredient were evaluated. The plasma discharge was optically characterized to identify the reactive species. A signifi cant increase in the fi lm roughness (p < 0.05) was observed due to the etching effect of DBD plasma, which was correlated with the increase in the diffusion rate of thymol in the food simulant. The diffusion of thymol from the zein fi lm was measured in aqueous solution. The kinetics of thymol release followed the Fick’s law of diffusion as shown by the high correlation… More >

Jae Yong Lee1, Byung Chul Kim1, Youngmi Kwon1,*, Kimoon Han2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.1, pp. 99-115, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.030801

Abstract Recently, multipath transmission control protocol (MPTCP) was standardized so that data can be transmitted through multiple paths to utilize all available path bandwidths. However, when high-speed long-distance networks are included in MPTCP paths, the traffic transmission performance of MPTCP is severely deteriorated, especially in case the multiple paths’ characteristics are heavily asymmetric. In order to alleviate this problem, we propose a “Coupled CUBIC congestion control” that adopts TCP CUBIC on a large bandwidth-delay product (BDP) path in a linked increase manner for maintaining fairness with an ordinary TCP traversing the same bottleneck path. To verify the performance excellence of the… More >
