Multi-Headed Deep Learning Models to Detect Abnormality of Alzheimer’s Patients

    S. Meenakshi Ammal*, P. S. Manoharan

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.1, pp. 367-390, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.025230

Abstract Worldwide, many elders are suffering from Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The elders with AD exhibit various abnormalities in their activities, such as sleep disturbances, wandering aimlessly, forgetting activities, etc., which are the strong signs and symptoms of AD progression. Recognizing these symptoms in advance could assist to a quicker diagnosis and treatment and to prevent the progression of Disease to the next stage. The proposed method aims to detect the behavioral abnormalities found in Daily activities of AD patients (ADP) using wearables. In the proposed work, a publicly available dataset collected using wearables is applied. Currently, no real-world data is available… More >

Depression Detection on COVID 19 Tweets Using Chimp Optimization Algorithm

    R. Meena1,*, V. Thulasi Bai2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.3, pp. 1643-1658, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.025305

Abstract The Covid-19 outbreak has an unprecedented effects on people's daily lives throughout the world, causing immense stress amongst individuals owing to enhanced psychological disorders like depression, stress, and anxiety. Researchers have used social media data to detect behaviour changes in individuals with depression, postpartum changes and stress detection since it reveals critical aspects of mental and emotional diseases. Considerable efforts have been made to examine the psychological health of people which have limited performance in accuracy and demand increased training time. To conquer such issues, this paper proposes an efficient depression detection framework named Improved Chimp Optimization Algorithm based Convolution… More >

Modeling of Chaotic Political Optimizer for Crop Yield Prediction

    Gurram Sunitha1,*, M. N. Pushpalatha2, A. Parkavi3, Prasanthi Boyapati4, Ranjan Walia5, Rachna Kohar6, Kashif Qureshi7

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.1, pp. 423-437, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.024757

Abstract Crop yield is an extremely difficult trait identified using many factors like genotype, environment and their interaction. Accurate Crop Yield Prediction (CYP) necessitates the basic understanding of the functional relativity among yields and the collaborative factor. Disclosing such connection requires both wide-ranging datasets and an efficient model. The CYP is important to accomplish irrigation scheduling and assessing labor necessities for reaping and storing. Predicting yield using various kinds of irrigation is effective for optimizing resources, but CYP is a difficult process owing to the existence of distinct factors. Recently, Deep Learning (DL) approaches offer solutions to complicated data like weather… More >

Deep Learning-based Wireless Signal Classification in the IoT Environment

Hyeji Roh, Sheungmin Oh, Hajun Song, Jinseo Han, Sangsoon Lim*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 5717-5732, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024135

Abstract With the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), diverse wireless devices are increasing rapidly. Those devices have different wireless interfaces that generate incompatible wireless signals. Each signal has its own physical characteristics with signal modulation and demodulation scheme. When there exist different wireless devices, they can suffer from severe Cross-Technology Interferences (CTI). To reduce the communication overhead due to the CTI in the real IoT environment, a central coordinator can be able to detect and identify wireless signals existing in the same communication areas. This paper investigates how to classify various radio signals using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), Long… More >

    Accurate Multi-Site Daily-Ahead Multi-Step PM2.5 Concentrations Forecasting Using Space-Shared CNN-LSTM

    Xiaorui Shao, Chang Soo Kim*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.3, pp. 5143-5160, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.020689

    Abstract

Accurate multi-step PM2.5 (particulate matter with diameters 2.5um) concentration prediction is critical for humankinds’ health and air population management because it could provide strong evidence for decision-making. However, it is very challenging due to its randomness and variability. This paper proposed a novel method based on convolutional neural network (CNN) and long-short-term memory (LSTM) with a space-shared mechanism, named space-shared CNN-LSTM (SCNN-LSTM) for multi-site daily-ahead multi-step PM2.5 forecasting with self-historical series. The proposed SCNN-LSTM contains multi-channel inputs, each channel corresponding to one-site historical PM2.5 concentration series. In which, CNN and LSTM are used to extract each… More >
