    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.78, No.1, pp. 1095-1113, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.046577

Abstract Effective data communication is a crucial aspect of the Social Internet of Things (SIoT) and continues to be a significant research focus. This paper proposes a data forwarding algorithm based on Multidimensional Social Relations (MSRR) in SIoT to solve this problem. The proposed algorithm separates message forwarding into intra- and cross-community forwarding by analyzing interest traits and social connections among nodes. Three new metrics are defined: the intensity of node social relationships, node activity, and community connectivity. Within the community, messages are sent by determining which node is most similar to the sender by weighing the strength of social connections… More >

    Xiaoyi Wang1, Xinyue Chang2, Wenxuan Wang1,*, Zijie Qiao3, Feng Zhang3,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.2, pp. 1775-1796, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.043913

Abstract The objective of reliability-based design optimization (RBDO) is to minimize the optimization objective while satisfying the corresponding reliability requirements. However, the nested loop characteristic reduces the efficiency of RBDO algorithm, which hinders their application to high-dimensional engineering problems. To address these issues, this paper proposes an efficient decoupled RBDO method combining high dimensional model representation (HDMR) and the weight-point estimation method (WPEM). First, we decouple the RBDO model using HDMR and WPEM. Second, Lagrange interpolation is used to approximate a univariate function. Finally, based on the results of the first two steps, the original nested loop reliability optimization model is… More >

Binary Archimedes Optimization Algorithm for Computing Dominant Metric Dimension Problem

    Basma Mohamed1,*, Linda Mohaisen2, Mohammed Amin1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.38, No.1, pp. 19-34, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.031947

Abstract In this paper, we consider the NP-hard problem of finding the minimum dominant resolving set of graphs. A vertex set B of a connected graph G resolves G if every vertex of G is uniquely identified by its vector of distances to the vertices in B. A resolving set is dominating if every vertex of G that does not belong to B is a neighbor to some vertices in B. The dominant metric dimension of G is the cardinality number of the minimum dominant resolving set. The dominant metric dimension is computed by a binary version of the Archimedes optimization… More >

    Long Chen1, Yan Yu1, Yanpeng Shang1, Zhonghou Wang1,*, Jing Zhang2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.1, pp. 817-846, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.031595

Abstract Gears are pivotal in mechanical drives, and gear contact analysis is a typically difficult problem to solve. Emerging isogeometric analysis (IGA) methods have developed new ideas to solve this problem. In this paper, a three-dimensional body parametric gear model of IGA is established, and a theoretical formula is derived to realize single-tooth contact analysis. Results were benchmarked against those obtained from commercial software utilizing the finite element analysis (FEA) method to validate the accuracy of our approach. Our findings indicate that the IGA-based contact algorithm successfully met the Hertz contact test. When juxtaposed with the FEA approach, the IGA method… More > Graphic Abstract

Abstract In the face of escalating intricacy and heterogeneity within Internet of Things (IoT) network landscapes, the imperative for adept intrusion detection techniques has never been more pressing. This paper delineates a pioneering deep learning-based intrusion detection model: the One Dimensional Convolutional Neural Networks (1D-CNN) and Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) Network (Conv-BiLSTM) augmented with an Attention Mechanism. The primary objective of this research is to engineer a sophisticated model proficient in discerning the nuanced patterns and temporal dependencies quintessential to IoT network traffic data, thereby facilitating the precise categorization of a myriad of intrusion types. Methodology: The proposed model amalgamates… More >

Zhen Tiana,*, Wenbo Jina, Lei Wangb, Zhi Jinc

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.5, pp. 1-8, 2014, DOI:10.5098/hmt.5.5

Abstract Taking the axial heat conduction of wax deposition layer into account, a two-dimensional heat transfer model of calculating the temperature profile inside wax deposition layer was deduced and established based on the energy balance equation, the finite difference method was used to solve this model, and the influence of axial heat conduction on the distribution law of temperature profile inside the wax deposition layer under different boundary conditions and thickness were discussed. The results showed that: Temperature profile inside wax deposition layer in middle region of testing pipe section was mainly influenced by axial heat conduction under boundary conditions of… More >

    Geometric Morphometrics Applied to Cartography

    Frédéric Roulier*

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.32, pp. 17-37, 2023, DOI:10.32604/RIG.2023.045458

Abstract The morphological differences between two geographical maps can be highlighted by a polycentric distance cartogram resulting from a bidimensional regression. Beyond the communicational interest of the transformations thus produced, the method makes it possible to reveal the differences in structure and therefore constitutes a real research tool. However, bidimensional regression can only compare the shape of two maps. Since the 1990s, geometric morphometrics has revolutionized the morphological analysis of natural structures (and others). It has since been applied in many fields of research but not in cartography. This article describes the theoretical and methodological bases of a method combining bidimensional… More > Graphic Abstract

A Bidimensional Finite Element Study of Crack Propagation in Austempered Ductile Iron

Gustavo von Zeska de França, Roberto Luís de Assumpção, Marco Antonio Luersen*, Carlos Henrique da Silva

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.2, pp. 1411-1424, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.043811

Abstract Austempered ductile iron (ADI) is composed of an ausferritic matrix with graphite nodules and has a wide range of applications because of its high mechanical strength, fatigue resistance, and wear resistance compared to other cast irons. The amount and size of the nodules can be controlled by the chemical composition and austenitizing temperature. As the nodules have lower stiffness than the matrix and can act as stress concentrators, they influence crack propagation. However, the crack propagation mechanism in ADI is not yet fully understood. In this study, we describe a numerical investigation of crack propagation in ADIs subjected to cyclic… More >

Study on the Fractal Characteristics of Cavitation Shedding over a Twisted Hydrofoil

    Zilong Hu1, Weilong Guang1, Ran Tao1,2,*, Ruofu Xiao1,2, Di Zhu3

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.21, pp. 161-178, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fhmt.2023.041402

Abstract Cavitation and cavitation erosion often occur and seriously threaten the safe and stable operation of hydraulic machinery. However, during the operation of hydraulic machinery, the cavitation flow field is often difficult to contact and measure, and the shedding and development characteristics of cavitation flow are unknown. This paper uses the Detached Eddy Simulation (DES) turbulence model and Zwart-Gerber-Belamri (ZGB) cavitation model to conduct numerical research on the cavitation flow of a twisted hydrofoil and verifies the effectiveness of numerical simulation by comparing it with experimental results. Then, based on the fractal dimension method, the number and fractal dimension of the… More >
