Optimizing Household Wastes (Rice, Vegetables, and Fruit) as an Environmentally Friendly Electricity Generator

Deni Ainur Rokhim1,2, Isma Yanti Vitarisma1, Sumari Sumari1,*, Yudhi Utomo1, Muhammad Roy Asrori1

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.12, No.2, pp. 275-284, 2024, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.043419

Abstract The high consumption of electricity and issues related to fossil energy have triggered an increase in energy prices and the scarcity of fossil resources. Consequently, many researchers are seeking alternative energy sources. One potential technology, the Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) based on rice, vegetable, and fruit wastes, can convert chemical energy into electrical energy. This study aims to determine the potency of rice, vegetable, and fruit waste assisted by Cu/Mg electrodes as a generator of electricity. The method used was a laboratory experiment, including the following steps: electrode preparation, waste sample preparation, incubation of the waste samples, construction of a… More >

Surface Morphology and Thermo-Electrical Energy Analysis of Polyaniline (PANI) Incorporated Cotton Fabric

Md. Shohan Parvez1,2, Md. Mustafizur Rahman1,3,*, Mahendran Samykano1, Mohammad Yeakub Ali4

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.1, pp. 1-12, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.027472

Abstract With the exponential development in wearable electronics, a significant paradigm shift is observed from rigid electronics to flexible wearable devices. Polyaniline (PANI) is considered as a dominant material in this sector, as it is endowed with the optical properties of both metal and semiconductors. However, its widespread application got delineated because of its irregular rigid form, level of conductivity, and precise choice of solvents. Incorporating PANI in textile materials can generate promising functionality for wearable applications. This research work employed a straightforward in-situ chemical oxidative polymerization to synthesize PANI on Cotton fabric surfaces with varying dopant (HCl) concentrations. Pre-treatment using… More >

The Impact of Hydrogen Energy Storage on the Electricity Harvesting

    Ghassan Mousa1, Ayman A. Aly2, Imran Khan3, Dag Øivind Madsen4,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 1963-1978, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.033627

Abstract The economics, infrastructure, transportation, and level of living of a country are all influenced by energy. The gap between energy usage and availability is a global issue. Currently, all countries rely on fossil fuels for energy generation, and these fossil fuels are not sustainable. The hydrogen proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) power system is both clean and efficient. The fuel delivery system and the PEMFC make up the majority of the PEMFC power system. The lack of an efficient, safe, and cost-effective hydrogen storage system is still a major barrier to its widespread use. Solid hydrogen storage has the… More >

Optimal Scheduling of Electrical Energy Systems Using a Fluid Dynamic Analogy

Juanjuan Wang*, Yaya Wang, Junhui Liu, Jianbo Zheng, Hongfang Zhou

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.18, No.3, pp. 577-589, 2022, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.017594

Abstract The electricity-gas transformation problem and related intrinsic mechanisms are considered. First, existing schemes for the optimization of electricity-gas integrated energy systems are analyzed through consideration of the relevant literature, and an Electricity Hub (EH) for electricity-gas coupling is proposed. Then, the distribution mechanism in the circuit of the considered electricity-gas integrated system is analyzed. Afterward, a mathematical model for the natural gas pipeline is elaborated according to the power relationship, a node power flow calculation method, and security requirements. Next, the coupling relationship between them is implemented, and dedicated simulations are carried out. Through experimental data, it is found that… More >
