    Abstract Residual atrioventricular valve regurgitation after correction of complete atrioventricular septal defect (cAVSD) is still not ideal. As a modification of the double-patch method, our technique comprises a suture-bite-wide strip of a third patch that is incorporated to the upper margin of the left side of the ventricular septal defect (VSD) patch.     Abstract In this study, Opuntia ficus-indica cladode powder (OFIC), locally sourced from Rabta in Tunis, was utilized as a novel, eco-friendly adsorbent in both raw and iron(III) chloride-modified forms. The presence of iron in the modified material was confirmed by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF).     An Investigation into the Cationic Dye Adsorption Capacity of Prickly Pear Cactus-Derived Cellulose

    Abstract This research aims to investigate the potential of a plant cellulose developed from Opuntia ficus-indica (OFI) cladode as a sustainable and renewable adsorbent for the removal of neutral red (NR), a cationic dye pollutant, from aqueous environments. Analysis of raw and treated OFI using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) demonstrated the successful extraction of type cellulose.     Bicuspidization Using the Open-Sleeve Technique for Congenital Aortic Stenosis during Infancy

    Abstract Congenital aortic stenosis (cAS) frequently requires intervention during the neonatal or infantile period. However, surgical repair is challenging because of the narrow surgical space. We performed bicuspidization using the open-sleeve technique for cAS with a unicuspid aortic valve in two patients. Postoperatively, the patients were doing well without reintervention for the aortic valve for 8 and 6 years, respectively. Their aortic annular diameter increased along with somatic growth. Bicuspidization for neonates or infancy can be performed safely using the open-sleeve technique as its midterm results have been satisfactory. More > Graphic Abstract
