    Abstract The Dahlia (Dahlia coccinea Cav.) is a plant that has been cultivated and genetically improved due to its ornamental importance; anyhow, its radical system accumulates reserve carbohydrates in the form of inulin and other fructans. Inulin is considered a part of the dietetic fiber from vegetable food sources, and it is also considered as a prebiotic compound.     Abstract Community succession is an orderly replacement process between dominant species of such community. The mutual opulations changes of two clonal plant species, Leymus chinensis and Kalimeris integrifolia, were analyzed during a process of restoration succession in a degraded meadow in Northeast China. It was based on the methods of space-for-time substitution and continuous sampling in different mixed ratios of community sections. The results showed that the two species populations adjusted the size of ramets to ensure a relatively stable number in the mixed community.     Abstract Plant aggregate-based building materials are a viable solution for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and providing good thermal and acoustic performances. In this study, the investigated lightweight mortars require a hydraulic reaction. Laboratory and on-site empirical observations about plant aggregate-based materials indicate a delay in setting time and a decrease in the mechanical performances of concretes based on plant aggregates. The natural origin of plant-aggregates causes a lot of variability in their properties.     Electromagnetic Performance Analysis of Novel Multi-band Metamaterial FSS for Millimeter Wave Radome Applications

    Abstract The electromagnetic design and performance analysis of dual/ multi-band metamaterial frequency selective surface (FSS) structures have been carried out for radome applications in microwave and millimeter wave frequency regimes. The proposed metamaterial FSS structure, consisting of cascaded MNG (mu-nega -tive) and DPS (double positive) layers, exhibits dual-band transmission responses at V-band and W-band. Excellent transmission efficiency (more than 95%) has been obtained over the frequency range 45.8-53.1 GHz at first resonance, and from 93.0-97.1 GHz at second resonance.     Abstract The EM analysis of multi-layered metamaterial based radar absorbing structure (RAS) with dual-band characteristics in millimeter wave frequency regime has been carried out in this paper using transmission line transfer matrix (TLTM) method for TE and TM polarizations. The proposed metamaterial-based RAS exhibits dual-band characteristics at centre frequencies 120 GHz and 175 GHz with very low power reflection.     Abstract The EM performance analysis of a multilayered metamaterial based radar absorbing structure (RAS) has been presented in this paper based on transmission line transfer matrix (TLTM) method for millimeter wave applications. The proposed metamaterial-RAS consists of cascaded DPS and MNG layers of identical configurations.
