    Awais Khan1,2,*, Shahid Bashir1, Salman Ghafoor3, Hatem Rmili4,5, Jawad Mirza6, Ammar Ahmad1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.1, pp. 911-925, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.033866

Abstract Mutual coupling reduction or isolation enhancement in antenna arrays is an important area of research as it severely affects the performance of an antenna. In this paper, a new type of compact and highly isolated Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications is presented. The design consists of four radiators that are orthogonally positioned and confined to a compact 40 × 40 × 0.8 mm3 space. The final antenna design uses an inverted L shape partial ground to produce an acceptable reflection coefficient (S11 < −10 dB) in an entire UWB band (3.1–10.6) giga hertz (GHz). Moreover, the inter-element isolation… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 2827-2835, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.033341

Abstract Massive-Multiple Inputs and Multiple Outputs (M-MIMO) is considered as one of the standard techniques in improving the performance of Fifth Generation (5G) radio. 5G signal detection with low propagation delay and high throughput with minimum computational intricacy are some of the serious concerns in the deployment of 5G. The evaluation of 5G promises a high quality of service (QoS), a high data rate, low latency, and spectral efficiency, ensuring several applications that will improve the services in every sector. The existing detection techniques cannot be utilised in 5G and beyond 5G due to the high complexity issues in their implementation.… More >

    Hussain Alaaedi*, Masoud Sabaei

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 633-646, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.032462

Abstract Enabling high mobility applications in millimeter wave (mmWave) based systems opens up a slew of new possibilities, including vehicle communications in addition to wireless virtual/augmented reality. The narrow beam usage in addition to the millimeter waves sensitivity might block the coverage along with the reliability of the mobile links. In this research work, the improvement in the quality of experience faced by the user for multimedia-related applications over the millimeter-wave band is investigated. The high attenuation loss in high frequencies is compensated with a massive array structure named Multiple Input and Multiple Output (MIMO) which is utilized in a hyperdense… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 1025-1048, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.032569

Abstract Visible Light Communication (VLC) technology is aggressive research for the next generation of communication. Currently, Radio Frequency (RF) communication has crowed spectrum. An Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) has been improved in the communication network for Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2 V), Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I), and Infrastructure-to-Vehicle (I2 V) by using the visible light spectrum instead of the RF spectrum. This article studies the characterization of Line-of-Sight (LOS) optical performance in an Outdoor Wireless Visible Light Communication (OWVLC) system employing a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) technique for I2 V communications in ITS regulations. We design the new configuration of the OWVLC-I2 V system, which is an alternative approach to communication… More >

New Preamble Sequence for WiMAX System with Improved Synchronization Accuracy

    Suma Sekhar1,*, Sakuntala S. Pillai2, S. Santhosh Kumar3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.3, pp. 3187-3197, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.028702

Abstract Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) trusts Multiple Input Multiple Output-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) combination for the deployment of physical layer functions and for connecting the medium access control to the wireless media. Even though Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) facilitates reliable digital broadband transmission in the fading wireless channels, the presence of synchronization errors in the form of Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO) and Time Offset (TO) adversely affect the performance of OFDM based physical layers. The objective of this work is to improve the accuracy of the frequency and the time offset estimation in the WiMAX physical layer.… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 3181-3198, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.029863

Abstract Due to the limited space and large mutual coupling levels, the design of sub-6 GHz massive Multi-Input Multi-Output (m-MIMO) smartphone antenna system attracts antennas’ designers and engineers worldwide. Therefore, this paper presents 18-element m-MIMO antenna system that covers the long-term evolution 42 (LTE42) frequency band (3.4–3.6 GHz) for the fifth generation (5G) applications in metallic frame smartphones. The proposed array system is etched on the long sides of a metal rim of the mobile chassis symmetrically, which is electrically connected to the system ground plane with zero ground clearance. A low-profile frame of height 7 mm (λ/12.3) is symmetrically placed… More >

Optimization of Channel Estimation Using ELMx-based in Massive MIMO

    Apinya Innok1, Chittapon Keawin2, Peerapong Uthansakul2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 103-118, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.027106

Abstract In communication channel estimation, the Least Square (LS) technique has long been a widely accepted and commonly used principle. This is because the simple calculation method is compared with other channel estimation methods. The Minimum Mean Squares Error (MMSE), which is developed later, is devised as the next step because the goal is to reduce the error rate in the communication system from the conventional LS technique which still has a higher error rate. These channel estimations are very important to modern communication systems, especially massive MIMO. Evaluating the massive MIMO channel is one of the most researched and debated… More >
