    Xiaojun Pan1, Haiying Li2, Xiaoyi Li1, Li Xu1, Yanbin Sun1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.2, pp. 2401-2417, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021020

Abstract Supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADAs) play an important role in supervising and controlling industrial production with the help of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in industrial control systems (ICSs). A PLC receives the control information or program from a SCADA to control the production equipment and feeds the production data back to the SCADA. Once a SCADA is controlled by an attacker, it may threaten the safety of industrial production. The lack of security protection, such as identity authentication and encryption for industrial control protocols, increases the potential security risks. In this paper, we propose a PLC protection system… More >

    BIOCELL, Vol.45, No.2, pp. 387-394, 2021, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2021.013824

Abstract Hippophae rhamnoides L. is a plant of immense ethnopharmacological importance and is a known source for various valuable biochemicals and nutraceuticals. The production of folate, a vitamin involved in several vital functions, in this plant is rather poorly understood. Herein, we investigate the hypothesis that rhizobial bacteria serve the plant in this essential vitamin’s biosynthesis. Bacterial strains of Bacillus, Azorhizobium, Frankia, Paenibacillus, Brevibacillus and Pseudomonas, were isolated from the rhizosphere of the plant. HPLC and LCMS were used to trace the production of intra and extra-cellular folate by representative rhizospheric bacterial strains in vitro. From the seventeen functionally characterized bacterial… More >

Abstract Cyberattacks on the Industrial Control System (ICS) have recently been increasing, made more intelligent by advancing technologies. As such, cybersecurity for such systems is attracting attention. As a core element of control devices, the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) in an ICS carries out on-site control over the ICS. A cyberattack on the PLC will cause damages on the overall ICS, with Stuxnet and Duqu as the most representative cases. Thus, cybersecurity for PLCs is considered essential, and many researchers carry out a variety of analyses on the vulnerabilities of PLCs as part of preemptive efforts against attacks. In this study,… More >
