    Jian Wang1, Jianzhong Zhu1,2, Xueyu Dong1,*, Chenxi Liu1, Jiazheng Shen1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.4, pp. 965-984, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.025490

Abstract Nowadays, AC electronic loads with energy recovery are widely used in the testing of uninterruptible power supplies and power supply equipment. To tackle the problems of control difficulty, strategy complexity, and poor dynamic performance of AC electronic load with energy recovery of the conventional control strategy, a control strategy of AC electronic load with energy recovery based on Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FCS-MPC) is developed. To further reduce the computation burden of the FCS-MPC, a simplified FCS-MPC with transforming the predicted variables and using sector to select expected state is proposed. Through simplified model and equivalent approximation analysis,… More >

An Efficient Method for Heat Recovery Process and Temperature Optimization

Basim Kareem Naser1, Mohammed Dauwed2,*, Ahmed Alkhayyat3, Mustafa Musa Jaber4,5, Shahad Alyousif6,7, Mohammed Hasan Ali8

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.1, pp. 1017-1031, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.033957

Abstract Flue gas heat loss accounts for a significant component of the overall heat loss for coal-fired boilers in power plants. The flue gas absorbs more heat as the exhaust gas temperature rises, which reduces boiler efficiency and raises coal consumption. Additionally, if the exhaust gas temperature is too high, a lot of water must be used to cool the flue gas for the wet flue gas desulfurization system to function well, which has an impact on the power plant’s ability to operate profitably. It is consequently vital to take steps to lower exhaust gas temperatures in order to increase boiler… More >

Coherence Based Sufficient Condition for Support Recovery Using Generalized Orthogonal Matching Pursuit

    Aravindan Madhavan1,*, Yamuna Govindarajan1, Neelakandan Rajamohan2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.2, pp. 2049-2058, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.031566

Abstract In an underdetermined system, compressive sensing can be used to recover the support vector. Greedy algorithms will recover the support vector indices in an iterative manner. Generalized Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (GOMP) is the generalized form of the Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) algorithm where a number of indices selected per iteration will be greater than or equal to 1. To recover the support vector of unknown signal ‘x’ from the compressed measurements, the restricted isometric property should be satisfied as a sufficient condition. Finding the restricted isometric constant is a non-deterministic polynomial-time hardness problem due to that the coherence of the… More >

    Yuchen Yang1,2, Lin Ma1,2,*, Jie Yu1,2, Zewen Zhao1,2, Pengfei You1,2

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.3, pp. 1153-1179, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.022719

Abstract The use of nanorefrigerants in Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) units is believed to affect the cycle environment performance, but backed with very few relevant studies. For this purpose, a life cycle assessment (LCA) has been performed for the ORC system using nanorefrigerant, the material and energy input, characteristic indicators and comprehensive index of environmental impact, total energy consumption and energy payback time (BPBT) of the whole life cycle of ORC system using Al2O3/R141b nanorefrigerant were calculated. Total environmental comprehensive indexes reveal that ECER-135 index decrease by 1.5% after adding 0.2% Al2O3 nanoparticles to R141b. Based on the contribution analysis and… More >

Type-2 Neutrosophic Set and Their Applications in Medical Databases Deadlock Resolution

    Marwan H. Hassan1, Saad M. Darwish2,*, Saleh M. Elkaffas3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.2, pp. 4417-4434, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.033175

Abstract Electronic patient data gives many advantages, but also new difficulties. Deadlocks may delay procedures like acquiring patient information. Distributed deadlock resolution solutions introduce uncertainty due to inaccurate transaction properties. Soft computing-based solutions have been developed to solve this challenge. In a single framework, ambiguous, vague, incomplete, and inconsistent transaction attribute information has received minimal attention. The work presented in this paper employed type-2 neutrosophic logic, an extension of type-1 neutrosophic logic, to handle uncertainty in real-time deadlock-resolving systems. The proposed method is structured to reflect multiple types of knowledge and relations among transactions’ features that include validation factor degree, slackness… More >

Exergy Analysis of Organic Rankine Cycles with Zeotropic Working Fluids

Antonio Mariani, Davide Laiso, Biagio Morrone*, Andrea Unich

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.3, pp. 593-601, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.022524

Abstract Waste heat recovery is one of the possible solutions to improve the efficiency of internal combustion engines. Instead of wasting the exhaust stream of an energy conversion system into the environment, its residual energy content can be usefully recovered, for example in Organic Rankine Cycles (ORC). This technology has been largely consolidated in stationary power plants but not yet for mobile applications, such as road transport, due to the limitations in the layout and to the constraints on the size and weight of the ORC system. An ORC system installed on the exhaust line of a bus powered by a… More > Graphic Abstract
