    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.144, No.3, pp. 3493-3529, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2025.070019 - 30 September 2025

Abstract Urban transportation planning involves evaluating multiple conflicting criteria such as accessibility, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact, often under uncertainty and incomplete information. These complex decisions require input from various stakeholders, including planners, policymakers, engineers, and community representatives, whose opinions may differ or contradict. Traditional decision-making approaches struggle to effectively handle such bipolar and multivalued expert evaluations. To address these challenges, we propose a novel decision-making framework based on Pythagorean fuzzy N-bipolar soft expert sets. This model allows experts to express both positive and negative opinions on a multinary scale, capturing nuanced judgments with higher accuracy. It… More >

Schweizer-Sklar T-Norm Operators for Picture Fuzzy Hypersoft Sets: Advancing Suistainable Technology in Social Healthy Environments

    Xingsi Xue1, Himanshu Dhumras2,*, Garima Thakur3, Rakesh Kumar Bajaj4, Varun Shukla5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.84, No.1, pp. 583-606, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2025.066310 - 09 June 2025

Abstract Ensuring a sustainable and eco-friendly environment is essential for promoting a healthy and balanced social life. However, decision-making in such contexts often involves handling vague, imprecise, and uncertain information. To address this challenge, this study presents a novel multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach based on picture fuzzy hypersoft sets (PFHSS), integrating the flexibility of Schweizer-Sklar triangular norm-based aggregation operators. The proposed aggregation mechanisms—weighted average and weighted geometric operators—are formulated using newly defined operational laws under the PFHSS framework and are proven to satisfy essential mathematical properties, such as idempotency, monotonicity, and boundedness. The decision-making model systematically… More >

    Muhammad Sarwar1,2,*, Rafiq Alam1, Kamaleldin Abodayeh2,*, Saowaluck Chasreechai3,4, Thanin Sitthiwirattham4,5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.143, No.2, pp. 2213-2236, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2025.062139 - 30 May 2025

Abstract In this manuscript, the notion of a hesitant fuzzy soft fixed point is introduced. Using this notion and the concept of Suzuki-type ()-weak contraction for hesitant fuzzy soft set valued-mapping, some fixed point results are established in the framework of metric spaces. Based on the presented work, some examples reflecting decision-making problems related to real life are also solved. The suggested method’s flexibility and efficacy compared to conventional techniques are demonstrated in decision-making situations involving uncertainty, such as choosing the best options in multi-criteria settings. We noted that the presented work combines and generalizes two More >

    Sagvan Y. Musa1,2, Baravan A. Asaad3,4,*, Hanan Alohali5, Zanyar A. Ameen6, Mesfer H. Alqahtani7

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.143, No.1, pp. 911-943, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2025.062524 - 11 April 2025

Abstract This paper introduces fuzzy N-bipolar soft (FN-BS) sets, a novel mathematical framework designed to enhance multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) processes under uncertainty. The study addresses a significant limitation in existing models by unifying fuzzy logic, the consideration of bipolarity, and the ability to evaluate attributes on a multinary scale. The specific contributions of the FN-BS framework include: (1) a formal definition and set-theoretic foundation, (2) the development of two innovative algorithms for solving decision-making (DM) problems, and (3) a comparative analysis demonstrating its superiority over established models. The proposed framework is applied to a real-world case More >

A Synergistic Multi-Attribute Decision-Making Method for Educational Institutions Evaluation Using Similarity Measures of Possibility Pythagorean Fuzzy Hypersoft Sets

Khuram Ali Khan1, Saba Mubeen Ishfaq1, Atiqe Ur Rahman2, Salwa El-Morsy3,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.142, No.1, pp. 501-530, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2024.057865 - 17 December 2024

Abstract Due to the numerous variables to take into account as well as the inherent ambiguity and uncertainty, evaluating educational institutions can be difficult. The concept of a possibility Pythagorean fuzzy hypersoft set (pPyFHSS) is more flexible in this regard than other theoretical fuzzy set-like models, even though some attempts have been made in the literature to address such uncertainties. This study investigates the elementary notions of pPyFHSS including its set-theoretic operations union, intersection, complement, OR- and AND-operations. Some results related to these operations are also modified for pPyFHSS. Additionally, the similarity measures between pPyFHSSs are More >

Abstract This research is devoted to diagnosing water-borne infectious diseases caused by floods employing a novel diagnosis approach, the Einstein hybrid structure of q-rung orthopair fuzzy soft set. This approach integrates parts of fuzzy logic and soft set theory to develop a robust alternative for disease detection in stressful situations, especially in areas affected by floods. Compared to the traditional intuitionistic fuzzy soft set and Pythagorean fuzzy soft set, the q-rung orthopair fuzzy soft set (q-ROFSS) adequately incorporates unclear and indeterminate facts. The major objective of this investigation is to formulate the q-rung orthopair fuzzy soft… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.2, pp. 1829-1862, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030687 - 29 January 2024

Abstract Green supplier selection is an important debate in green supply chain management (GSCM), attracting global attention from scholars, especially companies and policymakers. Companies frequently search for new ideas and strategies to assist them in realizing sustainable development. Because of the speculative character of human opinions, supplier selection frequently includes unreliable data, and the interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy soft set (IVPFSS) provides an exceptional capacity to cope with excessive fuzziness, inconsistency, and inexactness through the decision-making procedure. The main goal of this study is to come up with new operational laws for interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy soft numbers More >

    Salma Khan1, Muhammad Gulistan1, Nasreen Kausar2, Dragan Pamucar3, Tzung-Pei Hong4,5, Hafiz Abdul Wahab1,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.3, pp. 3141-3156, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.026169 - 09 March 2023

Abstract In this paper, a decision-making problem with a q-rung orthopair fuzzy hypersoft environment is developed, and two operators of ordered weighted average and induced ordered weighted average are developed. Several fundamental features are also derived. The induced ordered weighted average operator is essential in a q-ROFH environment as the induced ordered aggregation operators are special cases of the existing aggregation operators that already exist in q-ROFH environments. The main function of these operators is to help decision-makers gain a complete understanding of uncertain facts. The proposed aggregation operator is applied to a decision-making problem, with More > Graphic Abstract
