    Abstract The objectives of this study were to (1) isolate and identify pathogenic fungi from vegetative material with wilt symptoms in tomato plantations belonging to the Cienega of Chapala, Michoacán, Mexico, and (2) determine the antagonistic capacity of Trichoderma sp. and Aspergillus spp. isolated from chicken-manure vermicompost.     Histocytological examination on organogenesis and somatic embryogenesis of HBsAg-transgenic cherry tomato mutant

    Abstract The initiation and development of organogenic buds and somatic embryos in HBsAg-transgenic cherry tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum var. cerasiforme) mutant were studied histologically. The leaf explants of the mutant were cultured on Murashige & Skoog (MS) basal medium supplemented with 6-BA 1.0 mg/L and IAA 0.05 mg/L for callus induction. Histological studies on the leaf explants of the mutant at various developmental stages revealed that organogenic buds first appeared in the axillary position of explants on the 14th cultured day, and then somatic embryos formed in the same mutant explants after 35 days of culture.     Abstract In order to evaluate the agronomic behavior, genotypic variation, lycopene content, and other components of fruit quality, eight advanced tomato lines were planted in greenhouses during two crop cycles, August-December 2008 and February-July 2009.     Abstract The cellular automaton (CA) model for traffic flow describes the restrictive vehicle movements using the distance headway (gap) between two adjacent vehicles. However, the autonomous and synergistic behaviors also exist in the vehicle movements.     Abstract A simple cellular automaton (CA) scheme is proposed to simulate heat conduction in anisotropic domains. The CA is built on random nodes rather than an irregular grid. The local rule used in the CA is defined by physical concepts instead of differential equations. The accuracy of the proposed approach is verified by classical examples.
