Abstract Enterprises have extensively taken on cloud computing environment since it provides on-demand virtualized cloud application resources. The scheduling of the cloud tasks is a well-recognized NP-hard problem. The Task scheduling problem is convoluted while convincing different objectives, which are dispute in nature. In this paper, Multi-Objective Improved Monarch Butterfly Optimization (MOIMBO) algorithm is applied to solve multi-objective task scheduling problems in the cloud in preparation for Pareto optimal solutions. Three different dispute objectives, such as makespan, reliability, and resource utilization, are deliberated for task scheduling problems. The Epsilon-fuzzy dominance sort method is utilized in the multi-objective More >

Abstract With the rapid development of cloud computing technology, cloud services have now become a new business model for information services. The cloud server provides the IT resources required by customers in a self-service manner through the network, realizing business expansion and rapid innovation. However, due to the insufficient protection of data privacy, the problem of data privacy leakage in cloud storage is threatening cloud computing. To address the problem, we propose BC-PECK, a data protection scheme based on blockchain and public key searchable encryption. Firstly, all the data is protected by the encryption algorithm. A Resource-constrained Edge IoT Device Data-deduplication Method with Dynamic Asymmetric Maximum

    Ye Yang1, Xiaofang Li2, Dongjie Zhu3,*, Hao Hu3, Haiwen Du4, Yundong Sun4, Weiguo Tian3, Yansong Wang3, Ning Cao1, Gregory M.P. O’Hare5

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.30, No.2, pp. 481-494, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.019201 - 11 August 2021

Abstract Smart vehicles use sophisticated sensors to capture real-time data. Due to the weak communication capabilities of wireless sensors, these data need to upload to the cloud for processing. Sensor clouds can resolve these drawbacks. However, there is a large amount of redundant data in the sensor cloud, occupying a large amount of storage space and network bandwidth. Deduplication can yield cost savings by storing one data copy. Chunking is essential because it can determine the performance of deduplication. Content-Defined Chunking (CDC) can effectively solve the problem of chunk boundaries shifted, but it occupies a lot More >

A Multi-Objective Secure Optimal VM Placement in Energy-Efficient Server of Cloud Computing

    Sangeetha Ganesan*, Sumathi Ganesan

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.30, No.2, pp. 387-401, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.019024 - 11 August 2021

Abstract Cloud Computing has been economically famous for sharing the resources of third-party applications. There may be an increase in the exploitation of the prevailing Cloud resources and their vulnerabilities as a result of the aggressive growth of Cloud Computing. In the Cache Side Channel Attack (CSCA), the attackers can leak sensitive information of a Virtual Machine (VM) which is co-located in a physical machine due to inadequate logical isolation. The Cloud Service Provider (CSP) has to modify either at the hardware level to isolate their VM or at the software, level to isolate their applications.… More >

Evaluation and Forecasting of Wind Energy Investment Risk along the Belt and Road Based on a Novel Hybrid Intelligent Model

    Liping Yan1,*, Wei-Chiang Hong2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.128, No.3, pp. 1069-1102, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.016499 - 11 August 2021

Abstract The timely and effective investment risk assessment and forecasting are of great significance to ensure the investment safety and sustainable development of wind energy along the Belt and Road. In order to obtain the scientific and real-time forecasting result, this paper constructs a novel hybrid intelligent model based on improved cloud model combined with GRA-TOPSIS and MBA-WLSSVM. Firstly, the factors influencing investment risk of wind energy along the Belt and Road are identified from three dimensions: endogenous risk, exogenous risk and process risk. Through the fuzzy threshold method, the final input index system is selected.… More >

Resource Management and Task Offloading Issues in the Edge–Cloud Environment

    Jaber Almutairi1, Mohammad Aldossary2,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.30, No.1, pp. 129-145, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.018480 - 26 July 2021

Abstract With the increasing number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices connected to the internet, a platform is required to support the enormous amount of data they generate. Since cloud computing is far away from the connected IoT devices, applications that require low-latency, real-time interaction and high quality of service (QoS) may suffer network delay in using the Cloud. Consequently, the concept of edge computing has appeared to complement cloud services, working as an intermediate layer with computation capabilities between the Cloud and IoT devices, to overcome these limitations. Although edge computing is a promising enabler… More >

Abstract Recently, with the advancement of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Internet of Things (IoT) has been connected to the cloud and used in industrial sectors, medical environments, and smart grids. However, if data is transmitted in plain text when collecting data in an IoT-cloud environment, it can be exposed to various security threats such as replay attacks and data forgery. Thus, digital signatures are required. Data integrity is ensured when a user (or a device) transmits data using a signature. In addition, the concept of data aggregation is important to efficiently collect data transmitted from… More >
