Blockchain-Enabled Edge Computing Techniques for Advanced Video Surveillance in Autonomous Vehicles

Mohammad Tabrez Quasim*, Khair Ul Nisa

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.83, No.1, pp. 1239-1255, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2025.061541 - 26 March 2025

Abstract The blockchain-based audiovisual transmission systems were built to create a distributed and flexible smart transport system (STS). This system lets customers, video creators, and service providers directly connect with each other. Blockchain-based STS devices need a lot of computer power to change different video feed quality and forms into different versions and structures that meet the needs of different users. On the other hand, existing blockchains can’t support live streaming because they take too long to process and don’t have enough computer power. Large amounts of video data being sent and analyzed put too much… More >

    Ching-Lung Fan*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.142, No.2, pp. 1995-2017, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2025.059414 - 27 January 2025

Abstract The construction phase of a project is a critical factor that significantly impacts its overall success. The construction environment is characterized by uncertainty and dynamism, involving nonlinear relationships among various factors that affect construction quality. This study utilized 987 construction inspection records from 1993 to 2022, obtained from the Taiwanese Public Construction Management Information System (PCMIS), to determine the relationships between construction factors and quality. First, fuzzy logic was applied to calculate the weights of 499 defects, and 25 critical construction factors were selected based on these weight values. Next, a deep neural network was… More >

Tensile Strain Capacity Prediction of Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) Using Soft Computing Techniques

    Rabar H. Faraj1,*, Hemn Unis Ahmed2,3, Hardi Saadullah Fathullah4, Alan Saeed Abdulrahman2, Farid Abed5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.3, pp. 2925-2954, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.029392 - 15 December 2023

Abstract Plain concrete is strong in compression but brittle in tension, having a low tensile strain capacity that can significantly degrade the long-term performance of concrete structures, even when steel reinforcing is present. In order to address these challenges, short polymer fibers are randomly dispersed in a cement-based matrix to form a highly ductile engineered cementitious composite (ECC). This material exhibits high ductility under tensile forces, with its tensile strain being several hundred times greater than conventional concrete. Since concrete is inherently weak in tension, the tensile strain capacity (TSC) has become one of the most… More >

Improved Network Validity Using Various Soft Computing Techniques

    M. Yuvaraju*, R. Elakkiyavendan

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 1465-1477, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.032417 - 05 January 2023

Abstract Nowadays, when a life span of sensor nodes are threatened by the shortage of energy available for communication, sink mobility is an excellent technique for increasing its lifespan. When communicating via a WSN, the use of nodes as a transmission method eliminates the need for a physical medium. Sink mobility in a dynamic network topology presents a problem for sensor nodes that have reserved resources. Unless the route is revised and changed to reflect the location of the mobile sink location, it will be inefficient for delivering data effectively. In the clustering strategy, nodes are… More >

Improving Power Quality by DSTATCOM Based DQ Theory with Soft Computing Techniques

    V. Nandagopal1,*, T. S. Balaji Damodhar2, P. Vijayapriya3, A. Thamilmaran3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 1315-1329, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.032039 - 05 January 2023

    Abstract

The development of non-linear loads at consumers has significantly impacted power supply systems. Since, the poor power quality has been found in the three-phase distribution system due to unbalanced loads, harmonic current, undesired voltage regulation, and extreme reactive power demand. To overcome this issue, Distributed STATicCOMpensator (DSTATCOM) is implemented. DSTATCOM is a shunt-connected Voltage Source Converter (VSC) that has been utilized in distribution networks to balance the bus voltage in terms of enhancing reactive power control and power factor. DSTATCOM can provide both rapid and continuous capacitive and inductive mode compensation. A rectified resistive and

    Ali Raza1,2, Dumitru Baleanu3,4, Muhammad Yousaf2, Naeem Akhter2, Syed Kashif Mahmood2, Muhammad Rafiq5,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.2, pp. 1109-1124, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.022643 - 17 November 2021

Abstract Computer methods have a significant role in the scientific literature. Nowadays, development in computational methods for solving highly complex and nonlinear systems is a hot issue in different disciplines like engineering, physics, biology, and many more. Anthrax is primarily a zoonotic disease in herbivores caused by a bacterium called Bacillus anthracis. Humans generally acquire the disease directly or indirectly from infected animals, or through occupational exposure to infected or contaminated animal products. The outbreak of human anthrax is reported in the Eastern Mediterranean regions like Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Morocco, and Sudan. Almost ninety-five percent chances… More >

Network Quality Assessment in Heterogeneous Wireless Settings: An Optimization Approach

Sultan H. Almotiri*, Mohammed A. Al Ghamdi

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.1, pp. 439-455, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021012 - 03 November 2021

Abstract The identification of an effective network which can efficiently meet the service requirements of the target, while maintaining ultimate performance at an increased level is significant and challenging in a fully interconnected wireless medium. The wrong selection can contribute to unwanted situations like frustrated users, slow service, traffic congestion issues, missed and/or interrupted calls, and wastefulness of precious network components. Conventional schemes estimate the handoff need and cause the network screening process by a single metric. The strategies are not effective enough because traffic characteristics, user expectations, network terminology and other essential device metrics are… More >

Abstract Pneumonia is a highly transmissible disease in children. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the most affected regions include south Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Worldwide, 15% of pediatric deaths can be attributed to pneumonia. Computing techniques have a significant role in science, engineering, and many other fields. In this study, we focused on the efficiency of numerical techniques via computer programs. We studied the dynamics of the pneumonia-like infections of epidemic models using numerical techniques. We discuss two types of analysis: dynamical and numerical. The dynamical analysis included positivity, boundedness, local stability, reproduction number, More >

    Krishnan Muthumayil1,*, Thangaiyan Jayasankar2, Nagappan Krishnaraj3, Mohamed Yacin Sikkandar4, Prakash Nattanmai Balasubramanian5, Chokkalingam Bharatiraja6

Abstract Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSN) provides valuable information for scalar data, images, audio, and video processing in monitoring and surveillance applications. Multimedia streaming, however, is highly challenging for networks as energy restriction sensor nodes limit the potential data transmission bandwidth and lead to reduced throughput. WMSN’s two key design challenges, which can be achieved by the clustering process, are energy efficiency and throughput maximization. The use of the clustering technique helps to organise the sensor nodes into clusters, and between each cluster a cluster head (CH) will be chosen. This paper introduces a new Artificial… More >
