Influence of Aspect Ratio on Rolling Shear Properties of Fast-Grown Small Diameter Eucalyptus Lumber

    Tao Gui1, Shichen Cai1, Zhiqiang Wang1,*, Jianhui Zhou2,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.8, No.9, pp. 1053-1066, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2020.011645

Abstract Eucalyptus is a major fast-grown species in South China, which has the potential for producing structural wood products such as cross-laminated timber (CLT). Aspect ratio (board width vs. board thickness) of eucalyptus lumbers is small due to the small diameter of fast-grown eucalyptus wood. To evaluate its rolling shear modulus and strength for potential CLT applications, three-layer hybrid CLT shear block specimens with different aspect ratios (2,4,6), were tested by planar shear test method. Digital image correlation (DIC) was employed to measure the rolling shear strain distribution and development during the planar shear tests. The mean values of rolling shear… More >

Abstract Edge computing devices are widely deployed. An important issue that arises is in that these devices suffer from security attacks. To deal with it, we turn to the blockchain technologies. The note in the alliance chain need rules to limit write permissions. Alliance chain can provide security management functions, using these functions to meet the management between the members, certification, authorization, monitoring and auditing. This article mainly analyzes some requirements realization which applies to the alliance chain, and introduces a new consensus algorithm, generalized Legendre sequence (GLS) consensus algorithm, for alliance chain. GLS algorithms inherit the recognition and verification efficiency… More >

An Improved Algorithm for Mining Correlation Item Pairs

    Tao Li1, Yongzhen Ren1, *, Yongjun Ren2, Jinyue Xia3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.65, No.1, pp. 337-354, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.06462

Abstract Apriori algorithm is often used in traditional association rules mining, searching for the mode of higher frequency. Then the correlation rules are obtained by detected the correlation of the item sets, but this tends to ignore low-support high-correlation of association rules. In view of the above problems, some scholars put forward the positive correlation coefficient based on Phi correlation to avoid the embarrassment caused by Apriori algorithm. It can dig item sets with low-support but high-correlation. Although the algorithm has pruned the search space, it is not obvious that the performance of the running time based on the big data… More >

Behavioral Feature and Correlative Detection of Multiple Types of Node in the Internet of Vehicles

    Pengshou Xie1, Guoqiang Ma1, *, Tao Feng1, Yan Yan1, 2, Xueming Han1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.2, pp. 1127-1137, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.09695

Abstract Undoubtedly, uncooperative or malicious nodes threaten the safety of Internet of Vehicles (IoV) by destroying routing or data. To this end, some researchers have designed some node detection mechanisms and trust calculating algorithms based on some different feature parameters of IoV such as communication, data, energy, etc., to detect and evaluate vehicle nodes. However, it is difficult to effectively assess the trust level of a vehicle node only by message forwarding, data consistency, and energy sufficiency. In order to resolve these problems, a novel mechanism and a new trust calculating model is proposed in this paper. First, the four tuple… More >

    Congenital Heart Disease, Vol.14, No.4, pp. 600-608, 2019, DOI:10.1111/chd.12770

Abstract Introduction: Liver fibrosis and cirrhosis are late complications in Fontan palliation. Liver biopsy is the gold standard. The goal of this study is to correlate transjugular liver biopsy (TJLB) in the setting of Fontan palliation with noninvasive testing and hemodynamics.
Methods: Between August 2014 and July 2017, 49 Fontan patients underwent TJLB. All the patients had hemodynamic evaluation, 28 patients had MRE (magnetic reso‐ nance elastography) and 40 patients had cardiopulmonary exercise test. Histologic liver fibrosis was quantitated using traditional histologic scoring systems and a modi‐ fied Ishak congestive hepatic fibrosis score.
Results: Median age 17.8 years, median time since… More >

A Fast Two-Stage Black-Box Deep Learning Network Attacking Method Based on Cross-Correlation

    Deyin Li1, 2, Mingzhi Cheng3, Yu Yang1, 2, *, Min Lei1, 2, Linfeng Shen4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.1, pp. 623-635, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.09800

Abstract Deep learning networks are widely used in various systems that require classification. However, deep learning networks are vulnerable to adversarial attacks. The study on adversarial attacks plays an important role in defense. Black-box attacks require less knowledge about target models than white-box attacks do, which means black-box attacks are easier to launch and more valuable. However, the state-of-arts black-box attacks still suffer in low success rates and large visual distances between generative adversarial images and original images. This paper proposes a kind of fast black-box attack based on the cross-correlation (FBACC) method. The attack is carried out in two stages.… More >

Personalized News Recommendation Based on the Text and Image Integration

    Kehua Yang1, *, Shaosong Long1, Wei Zhang1, Jiqing Yao2, Jing Liu1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.1, pp. 557-570, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.09907

Abstract The personalized news recommendation has been very popular in the news recommendation field. In most research, the picture information in the news is ignored, but the information conveyed to the users through pictures is more intuitive and more likely to affect the users’ reading interests than the one in the textual form. Therefore, in this paper, a model that combines images and texts in the news is proposed. In this model, the new tags are extracted from the images and texts in the news, and based on these new tags, an adaptive tag (AT) algorithm is proposed. The AT algorithm… More >

Acoustic radiation force impulse of the liver after Fontan operation: Correlation with cardiopulmonary exercise test

    Michael V. Di Maria1, Lindsey Silverman2, Adel K. Younoszai1, Mariana L. Meyers3, Kelley E. Capocelli4, Michael R. Narkewicz5

    Congenital Heart Disease, Vol.13, No.3, pp. 444-449, 2018, DOI:10.1111/chd.12594

Abstract Background: The current management paradigm for children with single ventricle heart disease involves a series of palliative surgeries, culminating in the Fontan operation. This physiology results in a high central venous pressure, and in the setting of single ventricle heart disease, results in hepatic injury and fibrosis over time. Fontan-associated liver disease (FALD) is universally present in this cohort, and the current gold standard for diagnosis remains biopsy. Noninvasive assessments of liver fibrosis, such as ultrasound with elastography or acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI), has been utilized in this cohort. The effect of poor cardiovascular efficiency, as measured by cardiopulmonary… More >

    Erin K. Davis1, Salil Ginde1, Jessica Stelter2, Peter Frommelt1, Garick D. Hill3

    Congenital Heart Disease, Vol.14, No.5, pp. 720-725, 2019, DOI:10.1111/chd.12814

Abstract Background/Hypothesis/Objectives: Postoperative complications after the Fontan operation for single ventricle heart disease are common and include persistent pleural drainage and prolonged length of hospital stay (LOS). Diastolic ventricular dysfunction may increase risk for postoperative complications by raising central venous pressures. We sought to determine the relationship between preoperative echocardiographic measurements of diastolic function, including myocardial deformation imaging, on (a) preoperative invasive catheterization measurements and (b) postoperative outcomes after the Fontan procedure.
Design/Methods: All patients that underwent Fontan procedure from 2011 to 2017 were included. Echocardiograms performed within 6 months prior to Fontan operation were evaluated. Measurements of ventricular global and… More >
