Abstract Concomitant acute epidural hematoma (EDH) and subdural hematoma (SDH) is a rare finding, and its bilateral onset has not yet been reported in literature. We present the first report of a patient affected by post-traumatic concomitant EDH and SDH, with the contralateral, delayed onset of another, associated with meningioma previously treated with gamma knife. A 60-year-old female patient with a history of simple focal seizures with motor symptoms and well-controlled by drugs since childhood, arterial hypertension, and incidental diagnosis of multiple meningiomas was referred to our department after falling down the stairs. Initially, the patient was prescribed gamma knife treatment… More >

    Oncology Research, Vol.28, No.2, pp. 161-175, 2020, DOI:10.3727/096504019X15736439848765

Abstract Radiotherapy (RT) is an important treatment for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the major obstacles to successful RT include the low radiosensitivity of cancer cells and the restricted radiation dose, which is given without damaging normal tissues. Therefore, the sensitizer that increases RT efficacy without dose escalation will be beneficial for NSCLC treatment. Eurycomalactone (ECL), an active quassinoid isolated from Eurycoma longifolia Jack, has been demonstrated to possess anticancer activity. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of ECL on sensitizing NSCLC cells to X-radiation (X-ray) as well as the underlying mechanisms. The results showed that ECL… More >

    Qiang Wu1, Zhaoyang Han2, Ghulam Mohiuddin3, Yongjun Ren1,*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.2, pp. 1633-1646, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.030646

Abstract In the data communication system, the real-time information interaction of communication device increases the risk of privacy sensitive data being tampered with. Therefore, maintaining data security is one of the most important issues in network data communication. Because the timestamp is the most important way to authenticate data in information interaction, it is very necessary to provide timestamp service in the data communication system. However, the existing centralized timestamp mechanism is difficult to provide credible timestamp service, and users can conspire with timestamping servers to forge timestamps. Therefore, this paper designs a distributed timestamp mechanism based on continuous verifiable delay… More >

Abstract Integrated energy system optimization scheduling can improve energy efficiency and low carbon economy. This paper studies an electric-gas-heat integrated energy system, including the carbon capture system, energy coupling equipment, and renewable energy. An energy scheduling strategy based on deep reinforcement learning is proposed to minimize operation cost, carbon emission and enhance the power supply reliability. Firstly, the low-carbon mathematical model of combined thermal and power unit, carbon capture system and power to gas unit (CCP) is established. Subsequently, we establish a low carbon multi-objective optimization model considering system operation cost, carbon emissions cost, integrated demand response, wind and photovoltaic curtailment,… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 249-263, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.028513

Abstract The aim of these investigations is to find the numerical performances of the delay differential two-prey and one-predator system. The delay differential models are very significant and always difficult to solve the dynamical kind of ecological nonlinear two-prey and one-predator system. Therefore, a stochastic numerical paradigm based artificial neural network (ANN) along with the Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation (L-MB) neural networks (NNs), i.e., L-MBNNs is proposed to solve the dynamical two-prey and one-predator model. Three different cases based on the dynamical two-prey and one-predator system have been discussed to check the correctness of the L-MBNNs. The statistic measures of these outcomes of… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.2, pp. 1157-1174, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.022606

Abstract In meteorological and electric power Internet of Things scenarios, in order to extend the service life of relevant facilities and reduce the cost of emergency repair, the intelligent inspection swarm is introduced to cooperate with monitoring tasks, which collect and process the current scene data through a variety of sensors and cameras, and complete tasks such as emergency handling and fault inspection. Due to the limitation of computing resources and battery life of patrol inspection equipment, it will cause problems such as slow response in emergency and long time for fault location. Mobile Edge Computing is a promising technology, which… More >

Fixed-Time Adaptive Time-Varying Matrix Projective Synchronization of Time-Delayed Chaotic Systems with Different Dimensions

    Peng Zheng1, Xiaozhen Guo2,*, Guoguang Wen3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.131, No.3, pp. 1451-1463, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.019769

Abstract This paper deals with the fixed-time adaptive time-varying matrix projective synchronization (ATVMPS) of different dimensional chaotic systems (DDCSs) with time delays and unknown parameters. Firstly, to estimate the unknown parameters, adaptive parameter updated laws are designed. Secondly, to realize the fixed-time ATVMPS of the time-delayed DDCSs, an adaptive delay-unrelated controller is designed, where time delays of chaotic systems are known or unknown. Thirdly, some simple fixed-time ATVMPS criteria are deduced, and the rigorous proof is provided by employing the inequality technique and Lyapunov theory. Furthermore, the settling time of fixed-time synchronization (Fix-TS) is obtained, which depends only on controller parameters… More >

Feedline Separation for Independent Control of Simultaneously Different Tx/Rx Radiation Patterns

Akarachai Inthanil, Monthippa Uthansakul*, Peerapong Uthansakul

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.2, pp. 2221-2241, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024390

Abstract The shortcoming of Wi-Fi networks is that one user can access the router at a time. This drawback limits the system throughput and delay. This paper proposes a concept of Simultaneously Different Tx/Rx (SDTR) radiation patterns with only one antenna set at the router. Furthermore, these two patterns have to be simultaneously operated at the same time so that the system delay can be eased. An omni-directional pattern is employed at router for receiving mode so that the router can sense carrier signal from all directions. At the same time, the router launches a directional beam pointed to another user.… More >
