The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.33, No.3, pp. 1-2, 2025, DOI:10.32604/icces.2025.010490

Abstract Deep saline aquifers account for more than 90% of the global theoretical geological CO2 sequestration capacity, making them the dominant choice for large-scale CO2 storage. These aquifers offer vast storage potential, especially in comparison to oil and gas reservoirs, which are often considered for CO2 geological sequestration. Despite their significant storage capacity, deep saline aquifers face several challenges that hinder their practical application. In particular, the lack of adequate geological infrastructure and exploration conditions for deep saline aquifers presents major obstacles to the effective monitoring of CO2 migration and predicting leakage risks. These challenges are compounded by… More >

Dayong Wang1,*, Kamalrulnizam Bin Abu Bakar1, Babangida Isyaku2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.80, No.2, pp. 2065-2080, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.051944 - 15 August 2024

Abstract The rapid development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has led to a significant increase in the computational task load of Terminal Devices (TDs). TDs reduce response latency and energy consumption with the support of task-offloading in Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC). However, existing task-offloading optimization methods typically assume that MEC’s computing resources are unlimited, and there is a lack of research on the optimization of task-offloading when MEC resources are exhausted. In addition, existing solutions only decide whether to accept the offloaded task request based on the single decision result of the current time slot,… More >

Abstract Amid the landscape of Cloud Computing (CC), the Cloud Datacenter (DC) stands as a conglomerate of physical servers, whose performance can be hindered by bottlenecks within the realm of proliferating CC services. A linchpin in CC’s performance, the Cloud Service Broker (CSB), orchestrates DC selection. Failure to adroitly route user requests with suitable DCs transforms the CSB into a bottleneck, endangering service quality. To tackle this, deploying an efficient CSB policy becomes imperative, optimizing DC selection to meet stringent Quality-of-Service (QoS) demands. Amidst numerous CSB policies, their implementation grapples with challenges like costs and availability.… More >
