    Eosinophils in Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Multifaceted Role in the Pathogenesis of the Disease

    Abstract Eosinophils are multifunctional granulocytes that contribute to the initiation and modulation of inflammation. Accumulating evidence suggests that eosinophils are adaptable leukocytes that orchestrate the resolution of inflammatory responses. The most prevalent chronic inflammatory illness, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), is typified by persistent synovitis that makes it hard for the disease to go away on its own. Interestingly, a unique subset of eosinophils known as regulatory eosinophils has been found in RA patients’ synovium, especially while the disease is in remission.     Abstract Leukemoid reaction like leukemia indicates noticeable increased count of WBCs (White Blood Cells) but the cause of it is due to severe inflammation or infections in other body regions. In automatic diagnosis in classifying leukemia and leukemoid reactions, ALL IDB2 (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia-Image Data Base) dataset has been used which comprises 110 training images of blast cells and healthy cells.     Eosinophilic cystitis following immediate post-resection intravesical instillation of mitomycin-C

    Abstract We present a patient who developed severe lower urinary tract symptoms following resection of a Ta low grade bladder urothelial carcinoma with immediate post-resection instillation of mitomycin-C. Urine cultures were negative. Radiographic imaging demonstrated a bladder mass. On biopsy she was found to have eosinophilic cystitis. We report the clinical scenario and discuss treatment options.     Abstract Eosinophilic cystitis (EC) is an uncommon form of bladder inflammation. It is a rare disorder in children and fewer than 25 cases have been described in the literature. We report a case of eosinophilic cystitis mimicking a bladder tumor in a 3 year-old girl with symptoms of urinary frequency.
