A Real-Time Localization Algorithm for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Based on Continuous Images Processing

    Peng Geng1,*, Annan Yang2, Yan Liu3

    Journal on Artificial Intelligence, Vol.6, pp. 43-52, 2024, DOI:10.32604/jai.2024.047642

Abstract This article presents a real-time localization method for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) based on continuous image processing. The proposed method employs the Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm to identify key points in multi-scale space and generate descriptor vectors to match identical objects across multiple images. These corresponding points in the image provide pixel positions, which can be combined with transformation equations, allow for the calculation of the UAV’s actual ground position. Additionally, the physical coordinates of matching points in the image can be obtained, corresponding to the UAV’s physical coordinates. The method achieves real-time positioning and tracking during UAV… More >

    Oncology Research, Vol.32, No.4, pp. 679-690, 2024, DOI:10.32604/or.2024.046231

Abstract Liver cancer is a prevalent malignant cancer, ranking third in terms of mortality rate. Metastasis and recurrence primarily contribute to the high mortality rate of liver cancer. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has low expression of focal adhesion kinase (FAK), which increases the risk of metastasis and recurrence. Nevertheless, the efficacy of FAK phosphorylation inhibitors is currently limited. Thus, investigating the mechanisms by which FAK affects HCC metastasis to develop targeted therapies for FAK may present a novel strategy to inhibit HCC metastasis. This study examined the correlation between FAK expression and the prognosis of HCC. Additionally, we explored the impact of… More >

QIAN HU, MENGYAO WANG, JINJIN WANG, YALI TAO, TING NIU*

    Oncology Research, Vol.32, No.4, pp. 753-768, 2024, DOI:10.32604/or.2023.043647

Abstract Multiple myeloma (MM) is a hematologic malignancy notorious for its high relapse rate and development of drug resistance, in which cell adhesion-mediated drug resistance plays a critical role. This study integrated four RNA sequencing datasets (CoMMpass, GSE136337, GSE9782, and GSE2658) and focused on analyzing 1706 adhesion-related genes. Rigorous univariate Cox regression analysis identified 18 key prognosis-related genes, including KIF14, TROAP, FLNA, MSN, LGALS1, PECAM1, and ALCAM, which demonstrated the strongest associations with poor overall survival (OS) in MM patients. To comprehensively evaluate the impact of cell adhesion on MM prognosis, an adhesion-related risk score (ARRS) model was constructed using Lasso… More >

Zheng Miaoa, Ya-Ling Hea,*, Tian-Shou Zhaob, Wen-Quan Taoa

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.2, No.1, pp. 1-10, 2011, DOI:10.5098/hmt.v2.1.3001

Abstract A non-isothermal two-phase mass transport model is developed in this paper to investigate the heat generation and transport phenomena in a direct methanol fuel cell with anisotropic gas diffusion layers (GDLs). Thermal contact resistances at the GDL/CL (catalyst layer) and GDL/Rib interfaces, and the deformation of GDLs are considered together with the inherent anisotropy of the GDL. Latent heat effects due to condensation/evaporation of water and methanol between liquid and gas phases are also taken into account. Formulation of the two-phase mass transport across the membrane electrode assembly (MEA) is mainly based on the classical multiphase flow theory in the… More >

    YANAN MA1, SHANSHAN WANG2,*, HUIGUO DING1,*

    BIOCELL, Vol.48, No.3, pp. 463-471, 2024, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2024.048244

Abstract Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common malignant tumor with poor prognosis and high mortality worldwide. Although cystathionine-gamma-lyase (CSE) plays an important role in the development of multiple tumors, the clinical implication and potential mechanisms of CSE in HCC development remain elusive. Methods: In our study, the CSE expression in HCC was analyzed in Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) datasets and further confirmed by RT-qPCR and immunohistochemistry assays in HCC samples. Furthermore, the associations between CSE expression and HCC malignancy as well as survival were analyzed in GSE14520 and validated in HCC patients. Finally, the… More >

CHARACTERISTICS OF MICROLAYER FORMATION AND HEAT TRANSFER IN MINI/MICROCHANNEL BOILING SYSTEMS: A REVIEW

    Yaohua Zhanga,*, Yoshio Utakab

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.3, No.1, pp. 1-12, 2012, DOI:10.5098/hmt.v3.1.3003

Abstract This paper reviews recent research on microlayer formed by confined vapor bubbles during boiling in mini/microchannels. Experimental measurements, simulations and theoretical studies are described and compared. As a reference to clarify the mechanism for the formation of a microlayer, Taylor flow (i.e. elongated bubble flow in mini/micro circular tubes under adiabatic conditions and at Re << 1) and elongated bubble flow at high velocity, with consideration of the influence of inertia, are also reviewed. Compared to the steady adiabatic conditions, one of the distinct points for the boiling condition is that the bubble grows exponentially due to rapid evaporation of… More >

    Sang-min Lee, Namgi Kim*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.78, No.2, pp. 1897-1914, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.046346

Abstract Recommendation Information Systems (RIS) are pivotal in helping users in swiftly locating desired content from the vast amount of information available on the Internet. Graph Convolution Network (GCN) algorithms have been employed to implement the RIS efficiently. However, the GCN algorithm faces limitations in terms of performance enhancement owing to the due to the embedding value-vanishing problem that occurs during the learning process. To address this issue, we propose a Weighted Forwarding method using the GCN (WF-GCN) algorithm. The proposed method involves multiplying the embedding results with different weights for each hop layer during graph learning. By applying the WF-GCN… More >
