    M. Gomathy Nayagam1,*, K. Ramar2, K. Venkatesh3, S. P. Raja4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.3, pp. 1485-1499, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023953 - 24 March 2022

Abstract Moving object detection, classification and tracking are more crucial and challenging task in most of the computer vision and machine vision applications such as robot navigation, human behavior analysis, traffic flow analysis and etc. However, most of object detection and tracking algorithms are not suitable for real time processing and causes slower processing speed due to the processing and analyzing of high resolution video from high-end multiple cameras. It requires more computation and storage. To address the aforementioned problem, this paper proposes a way of parallel processing of temporal frame differencing algorithm for object detection More >

    S. S. Selva Pradeep*, M. Marsaline Beno

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.3, pp. 1757-1770, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023470 - 24 March 2022

Abstract The Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors have shown to be a cost-effective alternative to traditional motors. The smooth and efficient operation of the BLDC motor is dependent on speed regulation. This research proposes a sensorless intelligent speed control technique for BLDC using an Adaptive Network-based Fuzzy Inference Systems (ANFIS) based Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm. The motor’s back EMF is measured, and ANFIS is used to generate Hall signals. The ABC is then utilized to provide the pulses needed for the three-phase inverter, avoiding the requirement of logic gate circuits. The input DC voltage to… More >

    A. George Ansfer*, M. Marsaline Beno

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.3, pp. 1455-1472, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023058 - 24 March 2022

Abstract A new energy management technique with aid of Controller Area Network (CAN) bus for hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is proposed in this research. HEV is a type of hybrid vehicle that combines with an electric propulsion system a conventional internal combustion engine system. The electric powertrain operation is intended to achieve greater fuel economy than a conventional vehicle. To accurately distribute power from one of the battery sources, the Energy Management System determines the reference speed for the electric motor drive and the internal combustion engine. The Proportional and Integral (PI) controller is used to More >

    C. Ram Kumar1,*, K. Murali Krishna2, Mohammad Shabbir Alam3, K. Vigneshwaran4, Sridharan Kannan5, C. Bharatiraja6

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.43, No.1, pp. 259-273, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.023477 - 23 March 2022

Abstract The Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is a self-organizing network with random deployment of wireless nodes that connects each other for effective monitoring and data transmission. The clustering technique employed to group the collection of nodes for data transmission and each node is assigned with a cluster head. The major concern with the identification of the cluster head is the consideration of energy consumption and hence this paper proposes an hybrid model which forms an energy efficient cluster head in the Wireless Sensor Network. The proposed model is a hybridization of Glowworm Swarm Optimization (GSO) and More >

Two-Machine Hybrid Flow-Shop Problems in Shared Manufacturing

    Qi Wei*, Yong Wu

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.131, No.2, pp. 1125-1146, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.019754 - 14 March 2022

Abstract In the “shared manufacturing” environment, based on fairness, shared manufacturing platforms often require manufacturing service enterprises to arrange production according to the principle of “order first, finish first” which leads to a series of scheduling problems with fixed processing sequences. In this paper, two two-machine hybrid flow-shop problems with fixed processing sequences are studied. Each job has two tasks. The first task is flexible, which can be processed on either of the two machines, and the second task must be processed on the second machine after the first task is completed. We consider two objective… More >

New Hybrid EWMA Charts for Efficient Process Dispersion Monitoring with Application in Automobile Industry

    Xuechen Liu1, Majid Khan2, Zahid Rasheed3, Syed Masroor Anwar4,*, Muhammad Arslan5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.131, No.2, pp. 1171-1195, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.019199 - 14 March 2022

Abstract The EWMA charts are the well-known memory-type charts used for monitoring the small-to-intermediate shifts in the process parameters (location and/or dispersion). The hybrid EWMA (HEWMA) charts are enhanced version of the EWMA charts, which effectively monitor the process parameters. This paper aims to develop two new uppersided HEWMA charts for monitoring shifts in process variance, i.e., HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts. The design structures of the proposed HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts are based on the concept of integrating the features of two EWMA charts. The HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts plotting statistics are developed using one EWMA… More >

Tensile and Stress Analysis of Hybrid Composite Prosthetic Socket Reinforced with Natural Fibers

Noor K. Faheed*, Qahtan A. Hamad, Jawad K. Oleiwi

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.7, pp. 1989-2013, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.017573 - 07 March 2022

Abstract Natural fibers and their composites are the evolving movements in material science, and with that, the utmost use of plant-based fibers has become the focus of this research. Sisal and cotton natural fibers were used to construct a prosthetic socket as an attempt to substitute material currently available in the manufacturing of sockets. The vacuum bagging technique was adopted to produce a below-knee socket. The influence of different fiber layering sequences on the volumetric and mechanical characteristics was estimated experimentally and numerically. Mechanical tensile tests were used to assess laminated specimens, such as tensile strength,… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.1, pp. 1275-1291, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024507 - 24 February 2022

Abstract The recent aggrandizement of radio frequency (RF) signals in wireless power transmission combined with energy harvesting methods have led to the replacement of traditional battery-powered wireless networks since the blooming RF technology provides energy renewal of wireless devices with the quality of service (QoS). In addition, it does not require any unnecessary alterations on the transmission hardware side. A hybridized global optimization technique uniting Global best and Local best (GL) based particle swarm optimization (PSO) and ant colony optimization (ACO) is proposed in this paper to optimally allocate resources in wireless powered communication networks (WPCN)… More >

Abstract Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) have become a vital part in improving human lives and modern economy. It aims at enhancing road safety and environmental quality. There is a tremendous increase observed in the number of vehicles in recent years, owing to increasing population. Each vehicle has its own individual emission rate; however, the issue arises when the emission rate crosses a standard value. Owing to the technological advances made in Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques, it is easy to leverage it to develop prediction approaches so as to monitor and control air pollution. The current research… More >

Abstract Diagnosing data or object detection in medical images is one of the important parts of image segmentation especially those data which is less effective to identify in MRI such as low-grade tumors or cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) leaks in the brain. The aim of the study is to address the problems associated with detecting the low-grade tumor and CSF in brain is difficult in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images and another problem also relates to efficiency and less execution time for segmentation of medical images. For tumor and CSF segmentation using trained light field database… More >
