The Application of Fertilizer and AMF Promotes Growth and Reduces the Cadmium and Lead Contents of Ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.) in a Copper Mining Area

    Jiaxin Chen1,#, Jiawei Guo1,#, Zhixin Yang1, Jiqing Yang2,*, Hengwen Dong3, Huiyun Wang3, Yalei Wang3, Fangdong Zhan1,*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.92, No.2, pp. 471-485, 2023, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2022.023660 - 12 October 2022

Abstract Heavy metal-polluted soil was collected from the Pulang copper mine in Shangri-La City, Yunnan Province, Southwest China. The effects of fertilizer (organic and inorganic) and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.) growth, root morphology, mineral nutrition and cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) contents were investigated by pot experiments. The results showed that both fertilizer and AMF significantly ameliorated the root morphology and mineral nutrition, reduced the Cd and Pb contents, and promoted the growth of ryegrass. Among all treatments, the combined application of organic–inorganic compound fertilizer with AMF had the highest effect, resulting… More >

Effectively Inhibit Phase Separation to Improve Efficiency and Stability of All-Inorganic Planar CsPbIBr2 Perovskite Solar Cells

Miao He*, Miao Wu#, Duofa Wang, Tianjin Zhang*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.11, pp. 2883-2894, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.020535 - 29 June 2022

Abstract The advancement in a power conversion efficiency (PCE) to reach 25%, the inorganic perovskites are being explored intensively as promising optoelectronic materials due to their excellent photovoltaic performance, i.e., thermal stability and efficiency. Lately, the inorganic cesium lead halide perovskite is studied to show enhanced light absorption, however, it suffers from the phase separate into I-rich and Br-rich phase which leads to poor film quality due to difference of electronegativity. Herein, we propose a unique solution of controlling the rate of solvent volatilization followed by gel method to inhibit phase separation effectively to obtain the More >

Comparative Study on the Properties of Inorganic Silicate and Organic Phenolic Prepolymer Modified Poplar Wood by Vacuum Cycle Pressurization

    Pengfei Guan1, Ping Li2, Yiqiang Wu1, Xingong Li1, Guangming Yuan1, Yingfeng Zuo1,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.9, pp. 2451-2463, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.020459 - 30 May 2022

Abstract To enhance mechanical properties and improve flame retardancy and smoke suppression of fast-growing poplar wood in wood applications, the wood was impregnated and modified. An organic phenolic prepolymer and inorganic sodium silicate was used as contrasting impregnation modifiers and wood samples were impregnated by a bionic “respiration” method with alternating positive and negative pressure. The weight percentage gain, density increase ratio, mechanical properties (bending and compressive strength and hardness), and water absorption rate of inorganic and organic-impregnated modified poplar wood (IIMPW and OIMPW, respectively) were compared and these properties in IIMPW were found to be… More >

Assessment of the Solid Waste Disposal Method during COVID-19 Period Using the ELECTRE III Method in an Interval-Valued q-Rung Orthopair Fuzzy Approach

    Samayan Narayanamoorthy1, Arumugam Anuja1, J. V. Brainy1, Thangaraj Manirathinam1, Subramaniam Pragathi1, Thirumalai Nallasivan Parthasarathy1, Daekook Kang2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.131, No.3, pp. 1229-1261, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.019442 - 19 April 2022

Abstract As the quantity of garbage created every day rises, solid waste management has become the world’s most important issue. As a result, improper solid waste disposal and major sanitary issues develop, which are only detected after they have become dangerous. Due to the system’s lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, this scenario became much more uncertain. We are at the stage to develop and execute effective waste management procedures, as well as long-term policies and forward-thinking programmes that can work even in the most adverse of scenarios. We incorporate major solid waste (organic and inorganic solid… More >

II-VI Based Inorganic-Organic Hybrid Quantum Structures with High Degree of Structural Ordering, Long-Term Stability, and Novel Properties

    Yong Zhang

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.22, No.1, pp. 106-107, 2019, DOI:10.32604/icces.2019.05864

Abstract Translational symmetry ensures phase coherency of a physical process among different units of a crystal, and thus produces collective quantum effects beyond the sum of the units. Any significant physical and/or chemical fluctuation, which typically exists in a semiconductor alloy or self-assembled or artificially grown nanostructure array, would hinder our ability to study and use the collective behavior relying on this coherency. Man-made structures remain as one of the central interests since semiconductor superlattices were proposed by Esaki and Tsu in 1970. Unfortunately, man-made structures with both genuine long- and short-range order are rare. Here… More >

Cellulose Nanofi brils: From Strong Materials to Bioactive Surfaces**

    Yanxia Zhang1, Tiina Nypelö1,*, Carlos Salas1, Julio Arboleda1, Ingrid C. Hoeger1,*, Orlando J. Rojas1,2,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.1, No.3, pp. 195-211, 2013, DOI:10.7569/JRM.2013.634115

Abstract Cellulose nanofi brils (CNF), also known as nanofi brillar cellulose (NFC), are an advanced biomaterial made mainly from renewable forest and agricultural resources that have demonstrated exceptional performance in composites. In addition, they have been utilized in barrier coatings, food, transparent fl exible fi lms and other applications. Research on CNF has advanced rapidly over the last decade and several of the fundamental questions about production and characterization of CNF have been addressed. An interesting shift in focus in the recent reported literature indicates increased efforts aimed at taking advantage of the unique properties of More >
