Structural Integrity of Functionally Graded Composite Structure using Mindlin-type Element

    O.O. Oyekoya, D.U. Mba1, A.M. El-Zafrany

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.34, No.1, pp. 55-86, 2008, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2008.034.055

Abstract In this paper, two new Mindlin-type plate bending elements have been derived for the modelling of functionally graded plate subjected to various loading conditions such as tensile loading, in-plane bending and out-of-plane bending. The properties of the first Mindlin-type element (i.e. Average Mindlin-type element) are computed by using an average fibre distribution technique which averages the macro-mechanical properties over each element. The properties of the second Mindlin-type element (i.e. Smooth Mindlin-type element) are computed by using a smooth fibre distribution technique, which directly uses the macro-mechanical properties at Gaussian quadrature points of each element. There were two types of non-linearity… More >

Prediction of Crack Growth in Steam Generator Tubes Using Monte Carlo Simulation

    Jae Bong Lee1, Jai Hak Park1, Sung Ho Lee2, Hong-Deok Kim2, Han-Sub Chung2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.11, No.1, pp. 9-16, 2006, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2006.011.009

Abstract The growth of stress corrosion cracks in steam generator tubes is predicted using the Monte Carlo simulation and statistical approaches. The statistical parameters that represent the characteristics of crack growth and crack initiation are derived from in-service inspection (ISI) non-destructive evaluation (NDE) data. Based on the statistical approaches, crack growth models are proposed and applied to predict crack distribution at the end of cycle (EOC). Because in-service inspection (ISI) crack data is different from physical crack data, a simple method for predicting the physical number of cracks from periodic in-service inspection data is proposed in this study. Actual number of… More >

A Dual-Chaining Watermark Scheme for Data Integrity Protection in Internet of Things

    Baowei Wang1,2,*, Weiwen Kong1, Wei Li1, Neal N. Xiong3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.58, No.3, pp. 679-695, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.06106

Abstract Chaining watermark is an effective way to verify the integrity of streaming data in wireless network environment, especially in resource-constrained sensor networks, such as the perception layer of Internet of Things applications. However, in all existing single chaining watermark schemes, how to ensure the synchronization between the data sender and the receiver is still an unsolved problem. Once the synchronization points are attacked by the adversary, existing data integrity authentication schemes are difficult to work properly, and the false negative rate might be up to 50 percent. And the additional fixed group delimiters not only increase the data size, but… More >

WiBPA: An Efficient Data Integrity Auditing Scheme Without Bilinear Pairings

    Chunhua Li1,*, Peng Wang1, Changhong Sun1, Ke Zhou1, Ping Huang2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.58, No.2, pp. 319-333, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.03856

Abstract The security of cloud data has always been a concern. Cloud server provider may maliciously tamper or delete user’s data for their own benefit, so data integrity audit is of great significance to verify whether data is modified or not. Based on the general three-party audit architecture, a dynamic auditing scheme without bilinear pairings is proposed in this paper. It utilizes exponential operation instead of bilinear mapping to verify the validity of evidence. By establishing the mapping relation between logic index and tag index of data block with index transformation table, our scheme can easily support dynamic data operation. By… More >
