Intelligent Networked Control of Vasoactive Drug Infusion for Patients with Uncertain Sensitivity

    Mohamed Esmail Karar1,2,*, Amged Sayed A. Mahmoud2,3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.1, pp. 721-739, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.039235

Abstract Abnormal high blood pressure or hypertension is still the leading risk factor for death and disability worldwide. This paper presents a new intelligent networked control of medical drug infusion system to regulate the mean arterial blood pressure for hypertensive patients with different health status conditions. The infusion of vasoactive drugs to patients endures various issues, such as variation of sensitivity and noise, which require effective and powerful systems to ensure robustness and good performance. The developed intelligent networked system is composed of a hybrid control scheme of interval type-2 fuzzy (IT2F) logic and teaching-learning-based optimization (TLBO) algorithm. This networked IT2F… More >

Intelligent Medical Diagnostic System for Hepatitis B

    Dalwinder Singh1, Deepak Prashar1, Jimmy Singla1, Arfat Ahmad Khan2, Mohammed Al-Sarem3,4,*, Neesrin Ali Kurdi3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.3, pp. 6047-6068, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.031255

Abstract The hepatitis B virus is the most deadly virus, which significantly affects the human liver. The termination of the hepatitis B virus is mandatory and can be done by taking precautions as well as a suitable cure in its introductory stage; otherwise, it will become a severe problem and make a human liver suffer from the most dangerous diseases, such as liver cancer. In this paper, two medical diagnostic systems are developed for the diagnosis of this life-threatening virus. The methodologies used to develop these models are fuzzy logic and the neuro-fuzzy technique. The diverse parameters that assist in the… More >

An Intelligent Medical Expert System Using Temporal Fuzzy Rules and Neural Classifier

    Praveen Talari1,*, A. Suresh2, M. G. Kavitha3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 1053-1067, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.027024

Abstract As per World Health Organization report which was released in the year of 2019, Diabetes claimed the lives of approximately 1.5 million individuals globally in 2019 and around 450 million people are affected by diabetes all over the world. Hence it is inferred that diabetes is rampant across the world with the majority of the world population being affected by it. Among the diabetics, it can be observed that a large number of people had failed to identify their disease in the initial stage itself and hence the disease level moved from Type-1 to Type-2. To avoid this situation, we… More >

A Lightweight and Robust User Authentication Protocol with User Anonymity for IoT-Based Healthcare

    Chien-Ming Chen1,*, Shuangshuang Liu1, Shehzad Ashraf Chaudhry2, Yeh-Cheng Chen3, Muhammad Asghar khan4

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.131, No.1, pp. 307-329, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.018749

Abstract With the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT), the word “intelligent medical care” has increasingly become a major vision. Intelligent medicine adopts the most advanced IoT technology to realize the interaction between patients and people, medical institutions, and medical equipment. However, with the openness of network transmission, the security and privacy of information transmission have become a major problem. Recently, Masud et al. proposed a lightweight anonymous user authentication protocol for IoT medical treatment, claiming that their method can resist various attacks. However, through analysis of the protocol, we observed that their protocol cannot effectively resist privileged internal attacks,… More >

Feature Selection Method Based on Class Discriminative Degree for Intelligent Medical Diagnosis

    Shengqun Fang1, Zhiping Cai1,*, Wencheng Sun1, Anfeng Liu2, Fang Liu3, Zhiyao Liang4, Guoyan Wang5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.55, No.3, pp. 419-433, 2018, DOI: 10.3970/cmc.2018.02289

Abstract By using efficient and timely medical diagnostic decision making, clinicians can positively impact the quality and cost of medical care. However, the high similarity of clinical manifestations between diseases and the limitation of clinicians’ knowledge both bring much difficulty to decision making in diagnosis. Therefore, building a decision support system that can assist medical staff in diagnosing and treating diseases has lately received growing attentions in the medical domain. In this paper, we employ a multi-label classification framework to classify the Chinese electronic medical records to establish corresponding relation between the medical records and disease categories, and compare this method… More >
