    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.3, pp. 5705-5721, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.033194 - 28 December 2022

Abstract Fog computing brings computational services near the network edge to meet the latency constraints of cyber-physical System (CPS) applications. Edge devices enable limited computational capacity and energy availability that hamper end user performance. We designed a novel performance measurement index to gauge a device’s resource capacity. This examination addresses the offloading mechanism issues, where the end user (EU) offloads a part of its workload to a nearby edge server (ES). Sometimes, the ES further offloads the workload to another ES or cloud server to achieve reliable performance because of limited resources (such as storage and… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 2659-2672, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.025075 - 21 December 2022

Abstract The adders are the vital arithmetic operation for any arithmetic operations like multiplication, subtraction, and division. Binary number additions are performed by the digital circuit known as the adder. In VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration), the full adder is a basic component as it plays a major role in designing the integrated circuits applications. To minimize the power, various adder designs are implemented and each implemented designs undergo defined drawbacks. The designed adder requires high power when the driving capability is perfect and requires low power when the delay occurred is more. To overcome such… More >

An Enhanced Group Key-Based Security Protocol to Protect 5G SON Against FBS

    Hoonyong Park1, TaeGuen Kim1, Daniel Gerbi Duguma1, Jiyoon Kim2, Ilsun You2,*, Willy Susilo3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.2, pp. 1145-1165, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.032044 - 03 November 2022

Abstract Network operators are attempting many innovations and changes in 5G using self-organizing networks (SON). The SON operates on the measurement reports (MR), which are obtained from user equipment (UE) and secured against malware and userspace programs. However, the synchronization signal block that the UE relies on to measure the wireless environment configured by a base station is not authenticated. As a result, the UE will likely gauge the wrong wireless environment configured by a false base station (FBS) and transmit the corresponding MR to the serving base station, which poisons the data used for 5G… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.2, pp. 2431-2441, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.029618 - 31 October 2022

Abstract 3-dimension (3-D) printing technology is growing strongly with many applications, one of which is the garment industry. The application of human body models to the garment industry is necessary to respond to the increasing personalization demand and still guarantee aesthetics. This paper proposes a method to construct 3-D human models by applying deep learning. We calculate the location of the main slices of the human body, including the neck, chest, belly, buttocks, and the rings of the extremities, using pre-existing information. Then, on the positioning frame, we find the key points (fixed and unaltered) of More >

    Nayef Alqahtani1,2,*, Ali Alqahtani3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.2, pp. 2557-2573, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.026316 - 31 October 2022

Abstract Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) provide Global Positioning System (GPS) time-stamped synchronized measurements of voltage and current with the phase angle of the system at certain points along with the grid system. Those synchronized data measurements are extracted in the form of amplitude and phase from various locations of the power grid to monitor and control the power system condition. A PMU device is a crucial part of the power equipment in terms of the cost and operative point of view. However, such ongoing development and improvement to PMUs’ principal work are essential to the network… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.135, No.2, pp. 917-1005, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.021223 - 27 October 2022

Abstract Computer vision provides image-based solutions to inspect and investigate the quality of the surface to be measured. For any components to execute their intended functions and operations, surface quality is considered equally significant to dimensional quality. Surface Roughness (Ra) is a widely recognized measure to evaluate and investigate the surface quality of machined parts. Various conventional methods and approaches to measure the surface roughness are not feasible and appropriate in industries claiming 100% inspection and examination because of the time and efforts involved in performing the measurement. However, Machine vision has emerged as the innovative More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 667-681, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.031932 - 29 September 2022

Abstract This research introduces a challenge in integrating and cleaning the data, which is a crucial task in object matching. While the object is detected and then measured, the vibration at different light intensities may influence the durability and reliability of mechanical systems or structures and cause problems such as damage, abnormal stopping, and disaster. Recent research failed to improve the accuracy rate and the computation time in tracking an object and in the vibration measurement. To solve all these problems, this proposed research simplifies the scaling factor determination by assigning a known real-world dimension to… More >

A Novel Method for Wet Gas Flow Measurements Based on an Over-Reading Principle

    Jinjing Zhang, Jia Li*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.2, pp. 303-313, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.020723 - 29 August 2022

    Abstract

A novel method to measure the flow rate in a wet gas is presented. Due to the presence of liquid, there is a deviation in the measurement of the gas volume flow rate obtained with standard vortex flow-meters. The proposed method is based on a correction factor determined through the application of an over-reading approach to a bluff body in mist flow. The correction factor is obtained from the slip velocity ratio, i.e., the ratio of droplet velocity to gas velocity, based on the analysis of the fluid velocity distribution in the pipeline section. CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.1, pp. 121-134, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.017470 - 24 August 2022

Abstract As to solve the collaborative relative navigation problem for near-circular orbiting small satellites in close-range under GNSS denied environment, a novel consensus constrained relative navigation algorithm based on the lever arm effect of the sensor offset from the spacecraft center of mass is proposed. Firstly, the orbital propagation model for the relative motion of multi-spacecraft is established based on Hill-Clohessy-Wiltshire dynamics and the line-of-sight measurement under sensor offset condition is modeled in Local Vertical Local Horizontal frame. Secondly, the consensus constraint model for the relative orbit state is constructed by introducing the geometry constraint between More >
