Traditional Chinese Medicine Automated Diagnosis Based on Knowledge Graph Reasoning

    Dezheng Zhang1,2, Qi Jia1,2, Shibing Yang1,2, Xinliang Han2, Cong Xu3, Xin Liu1,4, Yonghong Xie1,2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.1, pp. 159-170, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.017295 - 03 November 2021

Abstract Syndrome differentiation is the core diagnosis method of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). We propose a method that simulates syndrome differentiation through deductive reasoning on a knowledge graph to achieve automated diagnosis in TCM. We analyze the reasoning path patterns from symptom to syndromes on the knowledge graph. There are two kinds of path patterns in the knowledge graph: one-hop and two-hop. The one-hop path pattern maps the symptom to syndromes immediately. The two-hop path pattern maps the symptom to syndromes through the nature of disease, etiology, and pathomechanism to support the diagnostic reasoning. Considering the… More >

Abstract The task of automatically analyzing sentiments from a tweet has more use now than ever due to the spectrum of emotions expressed from national leaders to the average man. Analyzing this data can be critical for any organization. Sentiments are often expressed with different intensity and topics which can provide great insight into how something affects society. Sentiment analysis in Twitter mitigates the various issues of analyzing the tweets in terms of views expressed and several approaches have already been proposed for sentiment analysis in twitter. Resources used for analyzing tweet emotions are also briefly… More >

Ensemble Variable Selection for Naive Bayes to Improve Customer Behaviour Analysis

    R. Siva Subramanian1,*, D. Prabha2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.41, No.1, pp. 339-355, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.020043 - 08 October 2021

Abstract Executing customer analysis in a systemic way is one of the possible solutions for each enterprise to understand the behavior of consumer patterns in an efficient and in-depth manner. Further investigation of customer patterns helps the firm to develop efficient decisions and in turn, helps to optimize the enterprise’s business and maximizes consumer satisfaction correspondingly. To conduct an effective assessment about the customers, Naive Bayes(also called Simple Bayes), a machine learning model is utilized. However, the efficacious of the simple Bayes model is utterly relying on the consumer data used, and the existence of uncertain… More >

Abstract Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), also known as Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-COV2) and it has imposed deep concern on public health globally. Based on its fast-spreading breakout among the people exposed to the wet animal market in Wuhan city of China, the city was indicated as its origin. The symptoms, reactions, and the rate of recovery shown in the coronavirus cases worldwide have been varied . The number of patients is still rising exponentially, and some countries are now battling the third wave. Since the most effective treatment of this disease has not been discovered so… More >

Intrusion Detection Using a New Hybrid Feature Selection Model

    Adel Hamdan Mohammad*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.30, No.1, pp. 65-80, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.016140 - 26 July 2021

Abstract Intrusion detection is an important topic that aims at protecting computer systems. Besides, feature selection is crucial for increasing the performance of intrusion detection. This paper employs a new hybrid feature selection model for intrusion detection. The implemented model uses Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithms in a new manner. In addition, this study introduces two new models called (PSO-GWO-NB) and (PSO-GWO-ANN) for feature selection and intrusion detection. PSO and GWO show emergent results in feature selection for several purposes and applications. This paper uses PSO and GWO to select features… More >

Social Network Rumor Recognition Based on Enhanced Naive Bayes

    Lei Guo*

    Journal of New Media, Vol.3, No.3, pp. 99-107, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jnm.2021.019649 - 13 July 2021

Abstract In recent years, with the increasing popularity of social networks, rumors have become more common. At present, the solution to rumors in social networks is mainly through media censorship and manual reporting, but this method requires a lot of manpower and material resources, and the cost is relatively high. Therefore, research on the characteristics of rumors and automatic identification and classification of network message text is of great significance. This paper uses the Naive Bayes algorithm combined with Laplacian smoothing to identify rumors in social network texts. The first is to segment the text and More >

    Youseef Alotaibi1,*, Muhammad Noman Malik2, Huma Hayat Khan3, Anab Batool2, Saif ul Islam4, Abdulmajeed Alsufyani5, Saleh Alghamdi6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.3, pp. 3323-3338, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016727 - 06 May 2021

Abstract Social media data are rapidly increasing and constitute a source of user opinions and tips on a wide range of products and services. The increasing availability of such big data on biased reviews and blogs creates challenges for customers and businesses in reviewing all content in their decision-making process. To overcome this challenge, extracting suggestions from opinionated text is a possible solution. In this study, the characteristics of suggestions are analyzed and a suggestion mining extraction process is presented for classifying suggestive sentences from online customers’ reviews. A classification using a word-embedding approach is used More >

Abstract The last several decades have witnessed an exponential growth in the means of transport globally, shrinking geographical distances and connecting the world. The automotive industry has grown by leaps and bounds, with millions of new vehicles being sold annually, be it for personal commuting or for public or commodity transport. However, millions of motor vehicles on the roads also mean an equal number of drivers with varying levels of skill and adherence to safety regulations. Very little has been done in the way of exploring and profiling driving patterns and vehicular usage using real world… More >

Abstract The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has infected more than 50 million people in more than 100 countries, resulting in a major global impact. Many studies on the potential roles of environmental factors in the transmission of the novel COVID-19 have been published. However, the impact of environmental factors on COVID-19 remains controversial. Machine learning techniques have been used effectively in combating the COVID-19 epidemic. However, researches related to machine learning on weather conditions in spreading COVID-19 is generally lacking. Therefore, in this study, three machine learning models (Convolution Neural Network (CNN), ADtree Classifier and BayesNet)… More >

Cloud-Based Diabetes Decision Support System Using Machine Learning Fusion

    Shabib Aftab1,2, Saad Alanazi3, Munir Ahmad1, Muhammad Adnan Khan4,*, Areej Fatima5, Nouh Sabri Elmitwally3,6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.1, pp. 1341-1357, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.016814 - 22 March 2021

Abstract Diabetes mellitus, generally known as diabetes, is one of the most common diseases worldwide. It is a metabolic disease characterized by insulin deficiency, or glucose (blood sugar) levels that exceed 200 mg/dL (11.1 ml/L) for prolonged periods, and may lead to death if left uncontrolled by medication or insulin injections. Diabetes is categorized into two main types—type 1 and type 2—both of which feature glucose levels above “normal,” defined as 140 mg/dL. Diabetes is triggered by malfunction of the pancreas, which releases insulin, a natural hormone responsible for controlling glucose levels in blood cells. Diagnosis… More >
