    Yu-Ming Chu1, Saima Rashid2,*, Shazia Karim3, Anam Sultan2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.2, pp. 1573-1611, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.027724

Abstract The fractional-order Boussinesq equations (FBSQe) are investigated in this work to see if they can effectively improve the situation where the shallow water equation cannot directly handle the dispersion wave. The fuzzy forms of analytical FBSQe solutions are first derived using the Adomian decomposition method. It also occurs on the sea floor as opposed to at the functionality. A set of dynamical partial differential equations (PDEs) in this article exemplify an unconfined aquifer flow implication. This methodology can accurately simulate climatological intrinsic waves, so the ripples are spread across a large demographic zone. The Aboodh transform merged with the mechanism… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 1671-1686, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.028819

Abstract It has remained a hard nut for years to segment sonar images of jacket installation environment, most of which are noisy images with inevitable blur after noise reduction. For the purpose of solutions to this problem, a fast segmentation algorithm is proposed on the basis of the gray value characteristics of sonar images. This algorithm is endowed with the advantage in no need of segmentation thresholds. To realize this goal, we follow the undermentioned steps: first, calculate the gray matrix of the fuzzy image background. After adjusting the gray value, the image is divided into three regions: background region, buffer… More >

MAURA BENEDETTI, MARIA ELISA GIULIANI, MARICA MEZZELANI, ALESSANDRO NARDI, LUCIA PITTURA, STEFANIA GORBI, FRANCESCO REGOLI

    BIOCELL, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 37-49, 2022, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2022.017507

Abstract Oxidative stress is a critical condition derived from the imbalance between the generation of reactive oxygen species and the sophisticated network of antioxidant mechanisms. Several pollutants and environmental factors can affect this system through connected mechanisms, indirect relationships, and cascade effects from pre-transcriptional to catalytic level, by either enhancing intracellular ROS formation or impairing antioxidant defenses. This review summarizes the current knowledge on the pro-oxidant challenges from emerging environmental stressors threatening marine organisms, such as pharmaceuticals, microplastics and climate-related ocean changes. Emphasis will be placed on oxidative pathways, including signaling proteins and transcription factors involved in regulation of antioxidant responsiveness.… More >
