Abstract In this study, a multisensory physiological measurement system was built with wireless transmission technology, using a DSPIC30F4011 as the master control center and equipped with physiological signal acquisition modules such as an electrocardiogram module, blood pressure module, blood oxygen concentration module, and respiratory rate module. The physiological data were transmitted wirelessly to Android-based mobile applications via the TCP/IP or Bluetooth serial ports of Wi-Fi. The Android applications displayed the acquired physiological signals in real time and performed a preliminary abnormity diagnosis based on the measured physiological data and built-in index diagnostic data provided by doctors, such as blood oxygen concentration,… More >

Tuğrul Çavdar1, Faruk Baturalp Günay2,*, Nader Ebrahimpour1, Muhammet Talha Kakız3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.2, pp. 1197-1222, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.020127

Abstract Localization is an essential task in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) for various use cases such as target tracking and object monitoring. Anchor nodes play a critical role in this task since they can find their location via GPS signals or manual setup mechanisms and help other nodes in the network determine their locations. Therefore, the optimal placement of anchor nodes in a WSN is of particular interest for reducing the energy consumption while yielding better accuracy at finding locations of the nodes. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for finding the optimal number of anchor nodes and an… More >

    Xiyang Li1,2, Bin Cheng1,2, Hui Zhang1,2,*, Xianghan Zhang1, Zhi Yun1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.6, pp. 1869-1886, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.015542

Abstract With the continuous increase in the proportional use of wind energy across the globe, the reduction of power generation efficiency and safety hazards caused by the icing on wind turbine blades have attracted more consideration for research. Therefore, it is crucial to accurately analyze the thickness of icing on wind turbine blades, which can serve as a basis for formulating corresponding control measures and ensure a safe and stable operation of wind turbines in winter times and/or in high altitude areas. This paper fully utilized the advantages of the support vector machine (SVM) and back-propagation neural network (BPNN), with the… More >

    Shidrokh Goudarzi1,2,*, Seyed Ahmad Soleymani2,3, Mohammad Hossein Anisi4, Domenico Ciuonzo5, Nazri Kama6, Salwani Abdullah1, Mohammad Abdollahi Azgomi2, Zenon Chaczko7, Azri Azmi6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.1, pp. 715-738, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.019550

Abstract The Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a promising technology that could be used to monitor rivers’ water levels for early warning flood detection in the 5G context. However, during a flood, sensor nodes may be washed up or become faulty, which seriously affects network connectivity. To address this issue, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) could be integrated with WSN as routers or data mules to provide reliable data collection and flood prediction. In light of this, we propose a fault-tolerant multi-level framework comprised of a WSN and a UAV to monitor river levels. The framework is capable to provide seamless data… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.1, pp. 963-979, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.019291

Abstract Searching images from the large image databases is one of the potential research areas of multimedia research. The most challenging task for nay CBIR system is to capture the high level semantic of user. The researchers of multimedia domain are trying to fix this issue with the help of Relevance Feedback (RF). However existing RF based approaches needs a number of iteration to fulfill user's requirements. This paper proposed a novel methodology to achieve better results in early iteration to reduce the user interaction with the system. In previous research work it is reported that SVM based RF approach generating… More >

    Gagandeep Singh Walia1, Parulpreet Singh1, Manwinder Singh1, Mohamed Abouhawwash2,3, Hyung Ju Park4, Byeong-Gwon Kang4,*, Shubham Mahajan5, Amit Kant Pandit5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.1, pp. 305-321, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.019171

Abstract Location information plays an important role in most of the applications in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). Recently, many localization techniques have been proposed, while most of these deals with two Dimensional applications. Whereas, in Three Dimensional applications the task is complex and there are large variations in the altitude levels. In these 3D environments, the sensors are placed in mountains for tracking and deployed in air for monitoring pollution level. For such applications, 2D localization models are not reliable. Due to this, the design of 3D localization systems in WSNs faces new challenges. In this paper, in order to find… More >

Abstract Software-defined networking (SDN) plays a critical role in transforming networking from traditional to intelligent networking. The increasing demand for services from cloud users has increased the load on the network. An efficient system must handle various loads and increasing needs representing the relationships and dependence of businesses on automated measurement systems and guarantee the quality of service (QoS). The multiple paths from source to destination give a scope to select an optimal path by maintaining an equilibrium of load using some best algorithms. Moreover, the requests need to be transferred to reliable network elements. To address SDN’s current and future… More >

Abstract Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is a well-known extensively utilized algorithm for a distinct type of optimization problem. In meta-heuristic algorithms, population initialization plays a vital role in solving the classical problems of optimization. The population’s initialization in meta-heuristic algorithms urges the convergence rate and diversity, besides this, it is remarkably beneficial for finding the efficient and effective optimal solution. In this study, we proposed an enhanced variation of the PSO algorithm by using a quasi-random sequence (QRS) for population initialization to improve the convergence rate and diversity. Furthermore, this study represents a new approach for population initialization by incorporating the… More >
