    Safi Ullah1,2, Seong-Ho Song1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.2, pp. 2999-3014, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.032326

Abstract Due to highly underdetermined nature of Single Image Super-Resolution (SISR) problem, deep learning neural networks are required to be more deeper to solve the problem effectively. One of deep neural networks successful in the Super-Resolution (SR) problem is ResNet which can render the capability of deeper networks with the help of skip connections. However, zero padding (ZP) scheme in the network restricts benefits of skip connections in SRResNet and its performance as the ratio of the number of pure input data to that of zero padded data increases. In this paper. we consider the ResNet with Partial Convolution based Padding… More >

    Song Zhang1, Wensheng Li2, Zhao Li2, Xiaolei Zhang1, Zhipeng Lu1, Xiaoning Ge3,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.1, pp. 181-199, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.022228

Abstract Driven by the goal of “carbon neutrality” and “emission peak”, effectively controlling system carbon emissions has become significantly important to governments around the world. To this end, a novel two-stage low-carbon economic scheduling framework that considers the coordinated optimization of ladder-type carbon trading and integrated demand response (IDR) is proposed in this paper for the integrated energy system (IES), where the first stage determines the energy consumption plan of users by leveraging the price-based electrical-heat IDR. In contrast, the second stage minimizes the system total cost to optimize the outputs of generations with consideration of the uncertainty of renewables. In… More >

    T. Mahalekshmi1,*, P. Maruthupandi2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 445-460, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.028718

Abstract The eminence of Economic Dispatch (ED) in power systems is significantly high as it involves in scheduling the available power from various power plants with less cost by compensating equality and inequality constrictions. The emission of toxic gases from power plants leads to environmental imbalance and so it is highly mandatory to rectify this issues for obtaining optimal performance in the power systems. In this present study, the Economic and Emission Dispatch (EED) problems are resolved as multi objective Economic Dispatch problems by using Harris Hawk’s Optimization (HHO), which is capable enough to resolve the concerned issue in a wider… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 1235-1257, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.032005

Abstract The guava plant has achieved viable significance in subtropics and tropics owing to its flexibility to climatic environments, soil conditions and higher human consumption. It is cultivated in vast areas of Asian and Non-Asian countries, including Pakistan. The guava plant is vulnerable to diseases, specifically the leaves and fruit, which result in massive crop and profitability losses. The existing plant leaf disease detection techniques can detect only one disease from a leaf. However, a single leaf may contain symptoms of multiple diseases. This study has proposed a hybrid deep learning-based framework for the real-time detection of multiple diseases from a… More >

Abstract This article presents the generation of Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) vortex waves with mode 1 using Uniform Circular Array (UCA) antenna. Two different designs, namely, UCA-1 (4-element array antenna) and UCA-2 (8-element array antenna), were designed and fabricated using FR-4 substrate to generate OAM mode 1 at 3.5 GHz (5G mid-band). The proposed antenna arrays comprised rectangular microstrip patch elements with inset fed technique. The elements were excited by a carefully designed feeding phase shift network to provide similar output energy at output ports with desired phase shift value. The generated OAM waves were confirmed by measuring the null in… More >

Abstract Bio-inspired computer modelling brings solutions from the living phenomena or biological systems to engineering domains. To overcome the obstruction problem of large-scale wind power consumption in Northwest China, this paper constructs a bio-inspired computer model. It is an optimal wind power consumption dispatching model of multi-time scale demand response that takes into account the involved high-energy load. First, the principle of wind power obstruction with the involvement of a high-energy load is examined in this work. In this step, highenergy load model with different regulation characteristics is established. Then, considering the multi-time scale characteristics of high-energy load and other demand-side… More >

Abstract Topological optimization plays a guiding role in the conceptual design process. This paper conducts research on structural topology optimization algorithm within the framework of isogeometric analysis. For multi-component structures, the Nitsche’s method is used to glue different meshes to perform isogeometric multi-patch analysis. The discrete variable topology optimization algorithm based on integer programming is adopted in order to obtain clear boundaries for topology optimization. The sensitivity filtering method based on the Helmholtz equation is employed for averaging of curved elements' sensitivities. In addition, a simple averaging method along coupling interfaces is proposed in order to ensure the material distribution across… More >
