    Jeongsu Park1, Moohong Min2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.145, No.3, pp. 3913-3948, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2025.072261 - 23 December 2025

Abstract Time series anomaly detection is critical in domains such as manufacturing, finance, and cybersecurity. Recent generative AI models, particularly Transformer- and Autoencoder-based architectures, show strong accuracy but their robustness under noisy conditions is less understood. This study evaluates three representative models—AnomalyTransformer, TranAD, and USAD—on the Server Machine Dataset (SMD) and cross-domain benchmarks including the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) dataset, the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) dataset, and the Secure Water Treatment (SWaT) testbed. Seven noise settings (five canonical, two mixed) at multiple intensities are tested under fixed clean-data training, with variations in window, stride, and More > Graphic Abstract

Thermo-Economic Performance Comparison between Basic Organic Rankine Cycle and Organic Rankine Cycle with Vapor-Liquid Ejector Driven by Solar Energy

    Lingbao Wang1,2, Zhi Gan2, Zuowei Yang3,*, Huashan Li1,2, Yulie Gong1,2, Xianbiao Bu1,2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.122, No.4, pp. 1443-1468, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ee.2025.060113 - 31 March 2025

Abstract Amidst the global push for decarbonization, solar-powered Organic Rankine Cycle (SORC) systems are gaining significant attention. The small-scale Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) systems have enhanced environmental adaptability, improved system flexibility, and achieved diversification of application scenarios. However, the power consumption ratio of the working fluid pump becomes significantly larger relative to the total power output of the system, adversely impacting overall system efficiency. This study introduces an innovative approach by incorporating a vapor-liquid ejector into the ORC system to reduce the pump work consumption within the ORC. The thermo-economic models for both the traditional ORC… More >

    Nader Abdel Karim1,*, Osama A. Khashan2,*, Waleed K. Abdulraheem3, Moutaz Alazab1, Hasan Kanaker4, Mahmoud E. Farfoura5, Mohammad Alshinwan5,6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.78, No.2, pp. 2023-2045, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.044304 - 27 February 2024

Abstract As the extensive use of cloud computing raises questions about the security of any personal data stored there, cryptography is being used more frequently as a security tool to protect data confidentiality and privacy in the cloud environment. A hypervisor is a virtualization software used in cloud hosting to divide and allocate resources on various pieces of hardware. The choice of hypervisor can significantly impact the performance of cryptographic operations in the cloud environment. An important issue that must be carefully examined is that no hypervisor is completely superior in terms of performance; Each hypervisor… More >

    Amani Yahyaoui1, Jawad Rasheed2,*, Shtwai Alsubai3, Raed M. Shubair4, Abdullah Alqahtani5, Buket Isler6, Rana Zeeshan Haider7

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.2, pp. 2247-2261, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.036840 - 21 June 2023

Abstract The coronavirus (COVID-19) is a disease declared a global pandemic that threatens the whole world. Since then, research has accelerated and varied to find practical solutions for the early detection and correct identification of this disease. Several researchers have focused on using the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques in disease diagnosis to diagnose and detect the coronavirus. This paper developed deep learning (DL) and machine learning (ML) -based models using laboratory findings to diagnose COVID-19. Six different methods are used in this study: K-nearest neighbor (KNN), Decision Tree (DT) and Naive Bayes (NB) as… More >

Experimental Analyses of Moderately High-Temperature Heat Pump Systems with R245fa and R1233zd(E)

    Ting Chen1, Oh Kyung Kwon2,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.6, pp. 2231-2242, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.021289 - 14 September 2022

Abstract With the limited production and use of R245fa, environmentally friendly refrigerant has attracted the attention of researchers. Due to the similar thermal characteristics, R1233zd(E) is considered to be an ideal substitute for R245fa in heat pump systems. In this study, the performance and economic analysis of heat pump systems with R245fa and R1233zd(E) as refrigerants are carried out. The results show that the total cost of R1233zd(E) system is more than 10% higher than that of R245fa system under the same heating load. With the increase of condensation temperature, the heating capacity of both systems More >

Performance Comparison of PoseNet Models on an AIoT Edge Device

    Min-Jun Kim1, Seng-Phil Hong2, Mingoo Kang1, Jeongwook Seo1,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.30, No.3, pp. 743-753, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.019329 - 20 August 2021

Abstract In this paper, we present an oneM2M-compliant system including an artificial intelligence of things (AIoT) edge device whose principal function is to estimate human poses by using two PoseNet models built on MobileNet v1 and ResNet-50 backbone architectures. Although MobileNet v1 is generally known to be much faster but less accurate than ResNet50, it is necessary to analyze the performances of whole PoseNet models carefully and select one of them suitable for the AIoT edge device. For this reason, we first investigate the computational complexity of the models about their neural network layers and parameters… More >

    Himanshu1, Kunwar Pal2, Sanjeev Jain3, S. K. Tyagi1,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.118, No.5, pp. 1237-1251, 2021, DOI:10.32604/EE.2021.016489 - 16 July 2021

Abstract A disruptive approach to a fundamental process has been applied in a biomass combustion device with two variable speed fans to supply air for gasification and another for combustion processes, separately. Besides, the preheating of secondary air, required for combustion process was also ensured through annulus chamber before being fed into the combustion chamber. The turbulent flow and homogenous mixing were also ensured by controlling the flow rate resulting in the reduced emissions of carbon monoxide (CO) and fine particulate matter (PM 2.5, particulate matter having aerodynamic diameter <2.5 micron). The design approach applied here… More >

Abstract According to various worldwide statistics, most car accidents occur solely due to human error. The person driving a car needs to be alert, especially when travelling through high traffic volumes that permit high-speed transit since a slight distraction can cause a fatal accident. Even though semi-automated checks, such as speed detecting cameras and speed barriers, are deployed, controlling human errors is an arduous task. The key causes of driver’s distraction include drunken driving, conversing with co-passengers, fatigue, and operating gadgets while driving. If these distractions are accurately predicted, the drivers can be alerted through an More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.4, pp. 335-343, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.03819

Abstract Novozyme 435, which is the commercially available immobilized form of Candida antarctica lipase B, has been successfully conducted ring opening polymerization of lactones in organic solvents. In this paper, it was aimed to introduce an alternative biocatalyst for Novozyme 435. Candida antarctica lipase B immobilized onto rice husk ashes via physical adsorption (with a specific activity of 4.4 U/mg) was prepared in previous studies and used as a biocatalyst for poly(δ-valerolactone) synthesis in the present work. Polymerization reactions were proceeded at various reaction temperatures and periods via both two immobilized enzyme preparations. The resulting products More >
